Seamus held the door for Aliah and Pauley as they carried trays into the sitting room of the guest suite he and Aliah once again occupied. Without his parents in the palace, the family quarters seemed empty, so he joined the others in the guest wing.


Having arrived before them, the company were comfortably settled into the chairs around the fireplace. The chairs from the table by the window were squeezed in between the more comfortable ones. Pauley flopped down on the floor, back against the wall, as the others seated themselves.


Seamus waited until everyone loaded plates and helped themselves to tea before he introduced the newcomers. Formalities out of the way, Seamus started.


'Boss, you said you learnt something we all needed to hear?'


Before Boss answered, there was a knock at the door. Dominic opened it and found the duke's steward, Robin, outside. He had no option but to step aside as the man pushed passed him and entered the room.
