Although the evening air was cool, Seamus and Aliah removed their jackets in preparation for the training session. Normally they waited for the god to call for them, but tonight they had much they needed to cover, and so decided to wait for their tutor in the courtyard. Rushing through his warm-up, Seamus went over different ways to ask for what he wanted in his head.


'Seamus, slow down. In such a confined space we need to move together if we are not to get in each other's way.' Aliah interrupted his thoughts.


Seamus stopped, watched until he knew where Aliah was in the sequence of moves they used to loosen up, then joined her. Once back into the rhythm, his mind again focused on his problem.


"We need to be able to work as one over long distances." That would not work. What if the gods did not want them to be apart in the first place, he would be handing them an opportunity to forbid it. "Do we need to be together …"
