System Requirement Met

The last feeling that shot through Lekan was the sense of achievement

Even as he felt the hardness of the ground ricochet against his body, a serene feeling of calm and oneness overtook his whole body, cheating the pain from taking any effecting him. He was happy, a smile on his mental self. He had been able to protect the one who he knew. Or at least, the one who he had come to know and hold fast to. That is, Blessing.

Blessing, despite the space and the status quo between the two of them, had been a somewhat integral part of his life. It was that feeling that had prompted him to act the way he did , in such a way that he had to give his all to be sure and almost sure that no harm would come to her.

Perhaps, in a different light, it was because of the fact that he had been present when his parents had kicked the bucket and had been so much unable to do anything about it. He had even been a victim of it. And so, this time around, he had acted the way he did, just so that he did not get to have a chance as much as that in which he would see a replica of the event.

Now, unconscious to the whole thing about ahim, Lekan heaved out, his eyes being welcomed into the thick darkness that was all about. He flinched, looking left and right but yet unable to see anything. For some reason, he felt as though he was being watched.

Watched by something which would rather prefer to be in the dark than for it to reveal itself. Even if it did reveal itself, what were the chances of him seeing it about now?

'Am I dead?' He questioned himself, blinking as he tried to make sense of the whole thing.

Curiously, he raised his hand up, unable to see it though, and then went for a touch. On getting to his face, or where he thought his face was, Lekan felt his hand go through. He panicked.

He had heard of things like this in folktales and movies which he had watched. He had not for once seen something like this. Lekan began to breathe rather rapidly, fear surging through every nerve cells in his body,

Had he been shot during the course of the whole thing? But then again, he could almost swear that he had not felt anything come in contact with his skin. In the state at which he was in, it was as though he had been super possessed by some power of higher kind. And in that state, he had been very very aware of himself,s o how then did he get to have been shot?

Lekan shook his head now and then hugged himself in the process. However, just as he did that now, a bright blue light suddenly exploded in his face, making him flinch again and jump back.

However, this light was everywhere. And upon closer examination, he found that the center of this light appeared to be from him. Lekan frowned, looking about himself, warily. He still could not see anything about him, what he could see was only the area in which the light was. And around the influence of the light, there was a greater pitch of darkness that seemed to suck in all the light there.

'What is this?' Lekan asked, turning around and letting his hand feel about him. Strangely as he did that, there was a resonance in him that seemed to agree with this space that he found himself. It Was as though the feeling in him would only come when a toddler sees his parents after a much hated day at school.

It was a feeling he could relate to. Why? Because he had also been a toddler too. And the acknowledgement of this fact made goose bumps appear all over his skin now. Lekan lowered his ahead, turning around as fast as he could, in anticipation for just anything which was going to show about him now.

However, on his second turn, another bright burst of light flashed out, this one brighter than the first. In response, Lekan crinched, shutting his eyes to cut off the intensity of the bright white light now.

After a second or two, once he felt his eyes had acclimated to the new light, he blinked and then opened his eyes by a tiny slit. As he did that, he could catch the form of a rectangular screen spreading out wide in front of him.

Wary, he took a step back now, noting that as he did that, the light intensity of the rectangle began to lower itself. It Was as if it was responding to him. And now, with the intensity lowered, Lekan could open his eyes fully. Although this only meant that the environment around him became as dark as it was before, if not darker

And then, a blue cursor appeared right at the topmost left corner of the screen. Lekan squeezed his eyes and then took a step forward out of curiosity, wondering what this was all about.

Standing now, within three meters to the board, the cursor on it binked for the first time. Lekan watched still, his curiosity rising to the peak, up until the cursor began to move. And With each movement it made towards the topmost right corner of the screen, a letter appeared behind it.

Once it reached the end of the screen towards the right hand side, the letters now made better sense, coming out all in blue colors.

Lekan out loudly, frowning as he kept on understanding events the cursor began to move now.

"What?" Lekan asked no one, in particular now.

[The Blood Domination System is fully Operational. Do you want to view your system stats now?}

Curiously, Lekan said yes. And as he did, the cursor began to backspace, deleting all of the words which were on the screen.
