Examination Period

Just as Mr. Brown was coming in the classroom, the system showed its existence again.

[A new quest is available!]

Paul immediately opened the [Quest] tab of the system. There he found a new quest, though it was on E-level. He received E-level quests during the Pokemon Battles on Battle Class, although E- were the completion rates coming from those quests.

'Hmm… I could do this quite easily, I think?' Paul thought.

The school gave one exam per day, so that the students could focus on reviewing for one subject each day. The first exam was from the Beginner's Class. Similar to the entrance exam, Mr. Brown led them to the Computer Laboratory to take the exam. Each student still has an empty seat in between, and they are arranged alphabetically. Paul was right next to Jake, as their surnames are close to the alphabet, Azure and Crimson. On the other hand, Amber and Steven were right next to each other too, as their surnames are Rose, and Stone, respectively.

The exam is to be held for 1 hour, without any break. Thus, it's a test of memorization and details. There are similar questions to the bonus part of the entrance exam, with filling up a blank in a basic Pokedex entry of a pokemon. On the other hand, some questions are all about characteristics of a pokemon, while other questions specify more on the habits of a pokemon. The rest basically equate to questions regarding some pokemon's unique biology.

The exam mostly consisted of detailed questions regarding the Kanto Region Pokemons. It was a 100-point exam, with Pokedex Entry Questions amounting to twenty questions, while there are thirty questions about Pokemon Habits. There are also thirty questions for Pokemon Characteristics and the remaining twenty for Pokemon Biology, mostly the unique body parts of specific pokemons. The exam consists of 100 questions that equates to 100 points in total.

It was really a brain draining exam, for most people who didn't review well. But for people like Paul, who really loves to know information about Pokemons, it's a breeze. All questions could be found on their books, specifically the Pokemon for Starters, Pokedex Entries, and Pokemon Biology.

Paul was finished 30 minutes before the exam's time is up. He double checked his answers for 10 minutes before submitting his exam to the school's website. Paul stood up to see his classmates and was able to notice that he was the first one to finish. A few minutes after Paul, Amber was also able to finish here exam, consecutively following was the two scholarship students. Steven was also able to finish 15 minutes before the time was up, with Jake following 10 minutes before submission time.

The school has early dismissals today. Each class's arrival and dismissal depending on their schedule. The first-year class has an advantage of being the first batch to use the Computer Laboratory, with the succeeding classes on later periods. Today, they went to class at 7:30 a.m. and to be dismissed at 9:00 a.m.

They gathered together as they rode on Paul's car and went to the Crimson Manor. They also did this yesterday, as Paul initiated a study group. Of course, he left them for a few hours, as he still has his study sessions with Charles, his tutor. Thankfully, his lessons for the elementary exams are overlapping with his school lessons, though the former are much more advanced, complex, and broad.

They directly went to the library to talk about the first exam, as Paul's parents are still out of the house, so they didn't bother to greet them.

"For sure, you guys are hungry right? Let me call out to our cook. Wait for me a bit." Paul briefly said when they settled down on the library lounge. He left directly and came back after a few minutes.

"I asked for sandwiches and other snacks paired with fruit juice. I didn't specify so I guess he will make us few varieties each." Paul told them, the other three not having any complaints.

"So… how was your exam?" Paul started.

"It was fine! I'm so glad what we reviewed turned up in the exam! You're so accurate Paul." Amber exclaimed when remembering Paul's suggestions of the type of questions when they reviewed yesterday.

"Yeah. It was a bit tough on the biology part, but I guess I managed fine. Mr. Brown was kind to give choices on almost half of the exam questions, and he also gave us pointers to review on." Steven smiled as he joined the conversation.

"Exactly, I was glad about Mr. Brown's kindness. I think I did better than I think I would." Jake replied as he yawned, "Though, I got sleepy due to the exam, wake me up when we start eating." He directly closed his eyes on the sofa, with Cherubi on his arms, matching her trainer's posture of sleeping. A few seconds, Jake already dozed off.

"Yeah, I agree. We should rest for a bit and wait to eat before starting the review for Doctor's Class Exam tomorrow. Ms. Joy did say that there is a first-aid practical portion of the exam, while also pointing out to review terminologies, different conditions, and the important biology parts of the Humans and Pokemons. The more specific ones are not needed as those are only for people that would take the examinations for professional pokemon doctor ranking." Paul suggested while reminding his friends.

They chatted for a bit before the food was already prepared, which Paul was notified with. He woke Jake up, and the quartet ate their food at the dining room. After eating, the quartet came back to the library to start their reviewing for the Doctor's Class.

Like most of the time, Paul just reviewed for a while from the subject's curriculum, before engaging on his own studies when he's done reviewing. The other three, used to Paul's pace, ignored him, and minded their own business. Though they asked each other questions when they do have one, or just for the sake of testing each other. Either way, they have a good atmosphere whenever they study due to the two more studious students of their group.

The reviews went relatively well, as Paul has been preparing them for a while now. They do assignments together, so Paul was able to let his friends imbibe his habit of summarizing each lesson, to go over what they weren't sure and what they wanted to know more. It was a good way to remember the lessons, without it being a drag than what it already is. Paul's not sure for everyone, but so far, it seems like this habit of his is working.

The other three stayed on the Crimson Manor until it was an hour away from dinner time. They said goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Crimson, who already came home earlier, and went home with their respective rides.
