Chapter 5: I Remember You Love Ice Cream

YuanLi Pov:

MoXue and I arrived at the ice cream shop. The shop was quite simply white walls, and green-colored icons decorated the walls. "You know, during my drive to here, I was scrolling through my phone for the best part of this theme park. Their ice cream just happens to be one of them. Do you want a vanilla cone or?"

"Vanilla would be great."

"Let me look at my wallet." MoXue swiped and clicked a couple of times on his phone. "My poor YuanLi, I ran out of money. I'll come back after I find BoXu."

"You know, I can pay, right?" Before I finished talking, MoXue already ran off. Why isn't he patient sometimes? He could have waited for me to finish talking before running off. I heard the shop door's bell ring. I turned around to see a familiar face. "Keye, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Stop the camera from recording."

"Ok." I paused my camera.

"I figured that you would come here of all places in the park. After all, you like ice cream. Today I will buy you all the ice cream you want to eat. Wait for me outside at the green bench. I will bring you a vanilla cone."

"Ok." I walked past Keye and out of the store. I seated myself down on the bench. A few minutes later, Keye returned with a vanilla cone in his hand.

He seated himself down next to me, "I remember you love ice cream," Keye said as he handed me a vanilla cone.

"Yeah, the taste is so creamy and cold," I smiled.

"The first time we met was because of ice cream." I stared at the ice cream in my hand.

"Yeah, you were buying ice cream, but you ran out of money. It was a coincidence that I was there at that time," he laughed.

"You paid for my ice cream." I licked my ice cream.

"You looked like a kid receiving a treat after a long day after school. You know what else I realized at that moment?"

"What?" I looked Keye in the eyes.

"My heart was beating twice as fast."

"So, that's when you first felt like that."

"What about you, Yuan Er?"

"When you were first formally introduced into the group. Well, the specific moment must have been when you danced. Your moves were flawless. I could see emotions within them. At that moment, I thought you were so cool." I looked at Keye, who covered his face. "Keye, why are you covering your face?"

"I never thought of you thinking about me like that."

"Your ears are red. Are you embarrassed?" I teased him.

"Every time I hear you compliment me. My face can't help but heat up."

"There's nothing wrong with that. Now uncover your face. I want to see that handsome face of yours."

"You're making it worse, Yuan Er."

"I can buy you a vanilla cone to calm you down." I got up from the bench. Keye grabbed my hand. "What do you want now?"

"Stay here. I don't want a vanilla cone. Can you stop teasing me, please?"

"Whatever makes you happy." I seated myself back down. I start to bite the cone of the ice cream. "MoXue left me to find BoXu," I sighed. "Wait a minute, weren't you with YuJun at the start. What happened?"

"MoXue texted the group chat that he ran out of money and left you at the ice cream shop. So, I told YuJun that I was going to come and find you. I left YuJun for you."

"If MoXue texted in the group chat, why didn't I receive the notification?"

"It's another group chat."

"There is not a single group chat that I am not in unless it's the direct messages between you and MoXue."

"Why do you have to be so smart, Yuan Er."

"Aren't you happy your partner is someone who has godly smarts?" I put my hands on my hips.

"Of course," he laughed.

"I'll text MoXue that he doesn't have to come back. I will spend the rest of my time with you." I grabbed his hand, and our fingers intertwined.

"Where do you want to go?"

"Anywhere you want."

"Yeah, I do have a particular place where I wanted us to go to."

"Well, what else are we waiting for?"

The sun was coming down when we arrived at the place Keye wanted us to go to. "It's getting dark already. The place you want us to come to just had to be at the back of the theme park."

"Sorry," he sighed. The moment he sighed, the place suddenly lit up. A bright yellow lightens up our surroundings. "Oh. Look perfect timing. The fairy lights lit up! Yuan Er, this part of the park is the prettiest place, but it only lights up when it's dark."

"Oh, I see, no wonder why you wanted to bring me here at night."

"I also wanted to give you this." Keye held out a bracelet. "This is the first thing I bought when the company gave us our first check. I had it custom made too! You see, there's only one big star along with smaller stars. I wanted you to know that you're the brightest star in the universe." Keye smiled at me. "Here, give me your hand." I held my hand out, and he put the bracelet on.

"You know, you don't have to spend money on me. All I care about is you and the way you treat me. I just enjoy your company-" I was interrupted by Keye's arms wrapping around my waist, laying his head on my shoulder.

"Yuan Er, if I had to give up the world for you, I think I might do it."

"Silly, the world is more important than just me, one person."

"You know what I mean. Yuan Er is the best in this whole wide universe."

"Silly, only you would say this to me."

"We have to go back to the front entrance. Our group members are waiting for us."

"Can we hug just a bit longer? I barely get alone time with you."

"Fine," I smiled.

"Yuan Er, why do you smell so nice? Do you use any cologne or perfume?"

"I didn't use any today."

'Yuan Er, your scent is so calming. I might just fall asleep."

"You can go to sleep after we go get dinner with the guys. Our leader YuMing is waiting for us there. Do you want to keep our precious leader waiting?"

"Fine," he sighed, letting go of the hug. He grabbed my hand, and we walked back to the front entrance of the theme park.
