The Moon!

Today Somya was feeling very restless. She doesn't like this feeling, this fear of getting lost and losing someone. She felt frightened over the truth she never wanted to share with anyone.

She tried hard to act normal, but whenever she met something like this, her insides take over. She clearly wanted nothing more than to go home and lock her room while she cries because she was afraid of unveiling the truth to someone under the influence of emotions.

Whenever she feels like this, she stares at the Moon. So that she can assure herself that she isn't alone. The Moon is there with her, who knows all her dark secrets. She was the one to give her companion when fear engulfs her in empty nights.

Today she was doing the same thing, staring at the Moon.

Looking at her silent face, Varun can't keep his calm anymore. "What are you staring at?"

"The Moon!"

Varun doesn't know how to carry a conversation. So everything went quiet again.

After some time, Somya asked, " Do you know which season Moon loves the most?"

Varun frowned, "No."

"She loves Spring the most.

Spring was the most favored time for the Sun and the Moon because they could finally be together. Even if it was only for an hour or so."

Varun asked her, "Why?"

"Because they love each other. I can tell you the story of how The Sun loved the Moon so much that he died every night to let her live."

Varun asked again, "Why are you saying things like this? Did you hit your head somewhere?"

Somya laughed lightly at his words, but that was not the laughter Varun was familiar with, "Because I am a Selenophile."*

"Then I am an Astrophile,*" Varun was strangely cooperative today and was replying to almost everything. But Somya was too busy in her thoughts of Moon to notice this.

"Really? an Astrophile? hmm, then tell me, why did Jupiter turn down so loving proposal?" Somya said and winked at him teasingly as if she wasn't the one who was sadly staring at the Moon a moment ago.

" Proposal?" Varun said, raising his perfect eyebrow.

"Yeap, The Saturn's proposal. Look, even today, he is still ready with a ring for her," she smiled, but slowly her smile faded again.

"So close yet so far," she sighed.

Varun just listened to her heart's content pouring out and didn't interrupt her.

"Tell me, Varun. What is more beautiful, how the Moon lets the Sunshine throughout the day or the way, the Sun lets the Moon glimmer at night?

He was the day, she was the night.

He lived for misty mornings, she lived for crazy midnights.

He was the Sun, she was the Moon.

They were opposite souls. Yet both waited patiently for the rare days when they might coexist peacefully.

Sometimes, I think of the Sun and the Moon as lovers who rarely meet, always chase, and almost always miss one another. But once in a while, they do catch up, and they kiss. And the world stares in awe of their eclipse.

They both must have had a real deep love story, for, after all these years, they still cry and spread darkness whenever they met."

Now her body was entirely leaning on the window.

Varun was only staring at her, analyzing her intense words in his mind. He doesn't know why but his mind keeps screaming at him, saying she is more pitiful than him.

"Are you close to the boy?" Varun asked out of the blue.

This question somewhat woke Somya up from her stance, and she replied, "Can say. I had known him since the time he was a little baby. I am a regular customer of his cafe since it was new and I have good relations with them. Don't ask me why, you already know well how talkative I am towards good people. I am someone, who loves playing with babies, so whenever I got free time after my office, I went to the cafe to play with him. That's how I became his aunt."

Somya paused, she knew what Varun was trying to ask her, but there is something deep hidden behind her feelings, so she has to consider her words before speaking.

She wanted to tell everything too, but she was too afraid to say. Her experience says, that whenever she talked about this to someone, she ended up hurting their feelings and herself getting hurt in the process. So she can't help but hide the truth.

"Tell me," with that, he smiled. If his Handsome looks were something outrageously pleasing to the eyes, then his smiling face was just an out-of-this-world type of incredible. Somya was mesmerized by his smile. She wondered how will he look if his smile reaches those ice-cold eyes of his.

~And when he looks at me

I swear I can't breathe~
