Varun has Changed!

Somya was noticing his reactions from the beginning, so she obviously knew what's in his head. She picked two parathas from the pot and put one on her plate while the other on his.

"Oops! I accidentally placed it. But it's already on your plate so, you better eat it." she played innocent.

Varun frowned and made a face that says 'Fine if you say so,' and started eating the 3rd one. Somya inwardly giggled at this.

After finishing their breakfast, they left for work together.

At Varun's Office,

Somya's jolly nature affected Varun too. He was in a rare good mood since morning.

Just at this moment, an annoyed Rahul came barging into his office, shutting the office-wooden door with a loud 'bang.'

"Huufff!!" Rahul puffed air out his mouth in frustration.

"What's up?" Varun raised an eyebrow.

"Mr. Dixit is here! It's going to be a bad day today." Rahul was clearly vexed.

At his words, Varun realized, today he has a meeting with Mr. Dixit. Mr. Dixit was his father's good friend. But due to this fact, he behaves playfully and pisses off people in GVAN Corporation as much as he wants. Even Varun found him annoying, but just for the sake of his friendship with his father, he let him off every time.

"The moment he entered the building, he started barking over this and that. He is such a pain in the ass!" Rahul complained.

"Rahul!" Varun warned him in a low voice.

"Fine, dude! Be ready in 15 min. I can't hold this oldie more than that." with that, he flew towards the waiting lounge.

After 15 minutes, Varun entered the meeting room in his black waistcoat with Rahul in a plain white shirt, a navy blue blazer paired with gray checkered pants, followed by his Secretary behind him.

As compared to the other days, Varun's aura was somewhat different today. It wasn't dark as always but is still dangerous in another way.

"Good Morning, CEO Sir," everyone greeted. Varun nodded his head towards them.

"Good Morning Mr. Dixit," Varun greeted the fat man who was in his late 50s. He has grey hairs, an almost invisible neck, and wore a tight suit that can burst anytime due to his fat body inside it.

"Good Morning, Varun beta,*" greeted Mr. Dixit back in a very informal way. It isn't anything new to everyone present there as Mr. Dixit had always treated GVAN Corporation as his in-law's house.

Varun doesn't respond and sits down. Mr. Dixit had already prepared a list of proposals and complaints earlier. Since he had already taken GVAN Corporation as his in-law's house, so he never stands at the ceremony here. He just started with the complaints first, directly snatching his executive's and secretary's work.

"It is disappointing...blah blah blah.....younger generation should...blah blah blah ....my client is dissatisfied..." after hearing his jabbering for some time, Varun suddenly spoke without giving any sign,

"Sir, you really speak too much. I mean, it must feel good? Talking like this? You know what, from the past few days, I am encountering people like you everywhere."

"Excuse me?" said Mr. Dixit. Everyone included him, was startled by Varun. He, who never speaks more than few sentences and just let Mr. Dixit gossip as much as he wants every time, had opened his mouth. It's not even for discussing something rather than he is commenting on him. Is this really the Ice-King, Mr. Kashyap?! Has their boss eaten the wrong medicine today?!

But Varun didn't give them time to decide anything, "...this is your client's claim, and I am ready to sign it. It's done! Your work ends here! Take it easy! Relax! Take a chill pill, uncle!" then he turned towards his Secretary "Listen, take care of Sir. Ask him how much is his cholesterol level," with that his Secretory took Mr. Dixit out of the meeting room. Varun got up and instructed his assistant, "Get the papers ready, I wanna sign them in few moments." and went out.

On his way back to his office, he found his Secretary, Aadi trying to coax Mr. Dixit, "Sir, what was your cholesterol level last time when you had a checkup?"

"You..!"

Varun interrupted him by saying, "Aadi ask him about his Blood Pressure level too. It's important and if they are not normal, then let him have a full body checkup," he started walking towards his office again.

"Varun...?!" Rahul called him from behind while jogging towards him.

Varun turned to answer him, and his sudden pause made Rahul clash in him.

"Ouch!" Rahul took two steps back.

"What happened?" Varun asked.

"You tell me what happened? You changed! There is something behind it, right? There must be!" said Rahul with a slight frown.

"There's nothing."

"I don't believe you," Rahul curled his lip like a child.

Varun ignored him and kept walking.

"What's wrong with you?" our impatient Mr. Rahul asked again.

Varun was just about to shut him up when he remembered something "What's wrong with me?" he asked himself. "How can I forget this!"

"You forget what?"

"Rahul, call Dr. Mehra to my clinic. I have a new patient for him."

"Who?"

" A 10 yr old child, suffering from Cardiomyopathy."

"Who is he? How do you know him?"

"No, not much."

"Then...?"

"You speak too much, Rahul." he just left Rahul alone in the corridor, wondering when did he ever speak less but this is the first time that Varun reacted to his too much speaking. How come his Ice-King brother started giving him pointers. Huh?

Somya was happy too for the whole day, all thanks to her Angry Young Man. She got a message from Mr. Verma, the cafe's owner, that GVAN hospital called them personally to help Siam.

Somya already told him in the morning that he might be getting some help from GVAN Corporation soon, but she didn't expect this good news to come this fast.

Yesterday night, she was in tears, complaining to God over Siam's health, and today she got the good news that he could be saved. Hurrah! Happiness comes too suddenly!

She decided to give a big treat to Varun for this. Afterall, he managed to get Siam treated without spending a single penny. Seems like he had good connections with the superiors there. The biggest thing is that he did this for her. Even if it is bad to take someone's else kindness as your impression over them, but still she can't help but think as if he helped them because of her.
