I looked at my hands for a moment and stretched my arms forward imagining a dagger in mine and with a flash of light a golden dagger appeared in my hand before disappearing when I stopped imagining.

" This is very cool!" I spoke still a little tense, full of adrenaline and excited and my ears picked up the noise of the city and a thought that I wouldn't have dared to have a few minutes before popped into my head, "What if I play the hero?"

That thought crossed my mind for a moment and I took a step forward preparing to go into battle but my rational side took over and I went back inside, "Don't be dumb Martin, just because you have powers doesn't mean that you can play the hero!" I told myself trying to make an excuse for my actions.

BOOM!

(Screaming noises)

At that moment an explosion hit the building on the side and I heard a woman scream, putting my head out of the place where I was, I could see that in the building right in the place that was hit by the explosion a girl was clutching a piece of iron as she cried and called for help from her parents who were upstairs in despair.

I almost went to her rescue right away but saw several ships passing around the buildings making me back up a bit, "Don't go there idiot it's too dangerous." saying this to myself I turned my back and prepared to enter my hiding place again but my body froze as I heard the girl scream once more.

"Don't go, Don't go, the Avengers will save her, it's not your duty." I kept talking to myself trying not to convince myself to go there but taking one last look at the girl I saw her losing strength in her arms and dropping the piece of iron making her go into free fall while screaming.

Before I could even think again I had acted and jumping from the rubble I formed a pole of Light and for the first time since high school I performed an exceptional pole vault thanks to my new martial and acrobatic skills and grabbed the girl in midair.

The girl who had her eyes closed in despair and fear when she felt someone grabbing her opened her eyes and saw a bearded man with golden brown hair holding her in the air.

But she didn't even have time to feel safe before the two started to fall again, feeling the girl hugging me tight I took my hands off her and reflexively formed a whip of light and swung it towards a pole making him grab hold.

I must admit it was the scariest swing I've ever done, the girl and I started screaming as we went downhill and even though our speed had already slowed down it was still scary to hit the ground.

Seeing that the fall would be ugly if I continued at this pace I released the whip of light and formed a round shield and placed it in front of me while trying to shrink my body as much as I could to protect the girl.

BLIMM!

CLANK!

We crashed into the ground and slithered forward as he slapped the asphalt off with the force of the impact, I felt every part of my body shake and my head buzz from the sudden change in gravity but was able to keep myself conscious and forced myself to get up and I looked at the girl who was still on my chest with her eyes closed in fear.

" Are you okay?" I asked her as I poked her cheeks and with a great effort she opened her eyes and looked at me, "Are we in heaven?" She asked with a hint of sadness in her eyes making me smile back as she looked around.

"Well not yet, but if you don't want to have an early meeting with the breeder then you might as well start running." My words caught his attention and made him look around us, my previous little show had ended up attracting a lot of unwanted attention and now there were dozens if not hundreds of smelly aliens coming up.

Not caring how gently I threw the girl to the ground and pointed to a nearby building, "RUN!" I spoke to her as I formed a spear of light in one hand and fired at an enemy glider causing it to explode in midair.

It would be a long fight now.
