Chapter 050: Mixed Sleepover Part 1

'…Everything was normal today…So how did I end up in this situation?!'

Sato-San was sleeping next to Shiratori-San, Natsume-San, Fukuhara-San and Kitagawa-San. He somehow ended up getting to be part of their sleepover and was still overwhelmed at the thought of being surrounded by four girls who he was decently close with. They were all asleep and he was the last one awake so he tried sitting up only for Fukuhara-San to roll over and grab onto his arm. He jolted his head down to see she was still asleep meaning she grabbed his arm unconsciously.

'Guess she's not awake…Now what? It's kind of hard to move and I don't want to wake her up…'

To know how Sato-San ended up in this situation we will have to once again turn back time to earlier in the day.

He was walking out of the library with Shiratori-San and they were talking about a variety of things.

"Oh! Before I forget, I was wondering if you'd like to come over…Maybe?"

He turned to see that she was red and turned away from him. She moved her eyes so she could see him and awaited his reply.

"…I guess if you're fine with it I'll come over for a bit."

"Great!"

She had a cheerful smile and he smiled alongside her. They continued walking while he texted his sister saying how he wouldn't be home until later since he was going over to a friend's house. Of course she freaked out asking if he was going over to a girl's house or a guy's house but he simply ignored her for the time being.

Shiratori-San continued talking with him and then jumped a bit when she realized she forgot to tell Higura something.

"If at all possible, please try to ignore my mother. She's probably going to get the wrong idea with you coming over…"

"Is she a crazy mom or something like that?"

"No…Well, yes and no. She's probably going to think you and I are…Well, dating…"

"Oh, in that case I simply say we're not. Problem solved."

"I don't think it'll be that easy…"

They reached the house while talking about miscellaneous things and opened the front door. He stepped inside and saw a woman's head peer around one of the walls.

"Kaaaaaannaa-Chaaaan, who's this?"

She sort of speed walked over to them and looked Sato-San over. He felt a little uncomfortable but was able to lessen the embarrassment since he already prepped himself for a crazy mom.

"Is he your boyfriend?"

"No! He's just a friend! Nothing more!"

She was a little red while telling her mother this and continued being red throughout the conversation.

"Hmmm, how can I be sure your trustworthy?"

"I'm literally your daughter!"

"I'm just teasing you, you know that."

"Haaaa, w-we're going to go now. Ah Sato-San, are you going to stay for dinner?"

"Sure I guess. I mean might as well avoid divine judgment from my sister for a little longer."

"Bye bye Sato-Chan!"

Shiratori-San brought him over to her room in a hurry to avoid her mother. She didn't think it threw fully and got a little embarrassed by having him see her room. It was clean, the only mess in sight was on her desk which was flooded with papers and books.

"P-Please don't look around too much…"

"I-Is there anywhere I can sit?"

"O-Oh right…I'll grab a chair real quick."

Sato-San had a variety of thoughts going through his head but the main thought he had was that maybe this wasn't too great of an idea after all. This was his first time in a girl's room that was other then his sister's so he didn't really know what to do.

'Then again…I guess I did go to Sakamoto-Sensei's room…I would very much like to pretend that never happened…'

"S-So what would you like to do?"

"I don't really know…"

There was an awkward silence between the two of them while they tried to think of something to do.

"Do you just want to read something? You have a lot of books so I'm sure we can find something."

"That could be nice…"

They looked through her shelf until they eventually found something and began reading it together. She cleared her desk off so they could have space and ended up being very close to each other. They both blushed a little and read the first few chapters. Sato-San had never heard of the book they were reading but it was turning out to be pretty good, it was part of a series so there would be plenty to read if he decided to buy it in the future.

"Kanna-Chan! There are people here wanting to see you! They were over here not too long ago, although there is a new one. Why don't you come out to greet them?"

Shiratori-San's mother was calling her saying that her friends were here. She looked confused and got up from her seat to go see who it was. Sato-San followed behind her but made sure to stay just out of view of the entrance in case it was someone he would have to use his other personality for.

"Yoko-San?! And you too? W-Why are you here?"

"Hm? We came over as a surprise, is that cool with you?"

'….Fukuhara-San? And who are the others then?'

"Uh, well…Right now might not be the best since I'm currently with a friend I don't get to be with often…"

'Oh, going that route are you? Don't worry, I understand compl-!' "Ah!"

Sato-San fell down after getting jump scared by Shiratori-San's cat. He hadn't seen it moving but it scared him to hell after he saw something black moving in the corner of his eye.

"Ummm, I think I've heard that voice somewhere. Is your friend someone I know?"

'Shit! I'm sorry Shiratori-San! I'm sorry I got jump scared! I just ruined your plan, didn't I?'

"You might know him…I know the others do."

"Him? And someone the others know?"

"I guess you can come greet yourself. S-Sato-San?"

He walked out from behind the wall and waved awkwardly to them.

"H-Hey. It's been a bit Fukuhara-San."

"Sato-Senpai?! What are you doing here?!" She was questioning why he was there but then made the face when you think you've realized something. "Y-You and Kanna-Chan aren't dating are you?"

"No, no! We're just friends!" Sato-San had answered and it was out of character for his false personality. He was in a bind as he didn't know what personality to use, there were two people who knew his true self and two people who didn't know the real him. He was conflicted and just kind of shut down which in turn kind of made a mix of his two personalities. "Get inside, might as well since you came all the way over here, haha…"

Fukuhara-San tapped Shiratori-San on the shoulder and whispered into her ear.

"Why is Sato-Senpai here? I understand you like him too but this is too unfair! It's not like I can bring him over to my house! He doesn't even know I know his nice self, albeit I have yet to actually experience it…He also seems to be acting a little strange…"

"I think it's just that he doesn't know which personality to use…I know both sides of himself but he still doesn't like using the delinquent part of him when he's around me."

"This is unfair, you're too close to him. Remember what we said back when we had our sleepover together?"

"Yes I know, we're all rivals to each other but I might as well use what I have available to me."

"…Fine, guess I'll just have to use this opportunity to my advantage then."

"Eh?"

Fukuhara-San walked over to Sato-San who was putting tea out while switching between his delinquent-esc face and his normal face making him seem a little crazy. She grabbed onto his arm which made him jump a little and turn his head towards her.

"We were planning on staying over for the night so would you like to stay over too, Sato-Senpai?"

"Uh…S-Sure I guess? Wait! Wait. Why should I?"

"It could be fun?"

"What if I decide to destroy your lives by using this as an opportunity to keep you away from me?"

"I'd doubt you'd do that. After all, I trust you quite a bit."

"…..Eh? Y-You trust me? But you know who I am don't you?!"

"Yep, that's why I trust you."

She walked away while he tried to compile his thoughts.

'Why the hell would she trust me? She knows I'm a delinquent right? But then again maybe Shiratori-San spilled some info on accident…If so that means she would know the real me…Argh, what do I give as an answer…Wait, what does her mom think of all of this?'

He looked over in her direction but she was just silently watching while mouthing "You should stay over. It'll be fun."

'Gah! Why would I rely on the crazy mom for help? Haaaa…Maybe I can use this opportunity to get the slut to stay away from me.' "I guess I'll stay over, if it's okay with you."

Fukuhara-San looked surprised as if she wasn't expecting him to actually say yes. She looked over in the direction of Shiratori-San then her mother.

"It'll be great to have all of you. You said you trust Sato-Chan so I think it can work out."

She wore a devious smile to go along with her statement clearly plotting something behind everyone's backs. They all got different senses of fear from it and stayed cautious of her.

"I-I guess we can bake or something…Like last time…"

Shiratori-San had tried to say something to lighten the mood and make things less awkward.

"No, no young lady. After dinner is finished. Then you can bake all you want. Okay, Kanna-Chan?"

"I guess that makes sense. For now why don't we go to my room?"

"I'm fine with that."

"I agree but if possible could Sato-San stay out here for a moment?"

"S-Sure I guess? You're fine with that right, Sato-San?"

"Huh…Oh, yeah sure…"

They all left the confused Sato-San and went into Shiratori-San's room. The first to speak was Natsume-San and was balling tears.

"W-Why is he here K-Kanna-Chan?

"I invited him over. I wasn't exactly expecting you guys to come over."

"You know how he treats me when teaching! I don't think I trust him fully!"

"D-Don't worry! He's actually…I'm going to tell you something Sato-San probably doesn't want me telling you but I'm sure that it'll make you feel better. He's actually a very nice person, he only acts like a jerk to keep people away from him. Only a few people know how he really acts, and now you're one of them. Please don't tell him I told you that!"

"A-Are you being serious? Like really, really serious?"

"Yes. I mean if you just take into account of how's he acting right now, shouldn't that be proof enough?"

"I-I guess I'll give him a chance…"

The next to one to bring up something was Fukuhara-San.

"I'll be sure to use this opportunity to win Sato-Senpai over. You better not get mad when I win."

"I won't. We all have a fair shot at his heart."

"Yeah."

Kitagawa-San didn't add anything else to the conversation, she simply smiled and waited for everyone to finish talking.

"By the way, what are we going to do for sleeping arrangements? I mean he's still a guy after all so I mean…"

"I guess we'll figure that out when the time comes…I won't be surprised if my mother tries to take advantage of this situation…"

"Well if she does I'll simply ask her to make my opportunity better."

"I think she'd probably be biased to me."

"This is war, I will use everything in my power to win."

"Okay then…"

They had finished talking and went back out to where Sato-San was sitting while drinking tea with a blank expression on his face. The mixed sleepover night was about to begin.
