Sato-San was sitting at his desk while doing something on his phone. Nishiyama-San was watching from the hallway taking notes on what he was doing. She was trying to gather evidence for her theory while being as natural as possible. People still looked at her funnily as they were walking or running to their class in worry that they could be late. She put away her notepad and walked to her classroom.
'Guess nothing to really note as of this morning….Just like every other chance I get when it's in the morning. Why does he have to be alone in the morning all the time?'
She entered her classroom and sat down at her desk while scrolling through her phone to see if there were any good mysteries swarming around. To her disappointment there was nothing to be seen and so she acted like your average student until lunch where she would continue her investigation.
The second the bell rang she ran out of the classroom so fast it was as if she teleported out of sight. She went to the back of the school where Sato-San often ate his lunch with his friends. She quickly set up a camera to peek around the corner and while setting up she fell towards into the dirt. He looked over in her direction while being heavily confused.
"Uhhh…Big muscly woman with a shark on her back!"
"What?"
He looked to where she was pointing and turned back to her but she had already darted off out of sight.
"….The fuck was that?"
He shrugged it off and went back to eating his lunch while waiting for his friends to arrive. Nishiyama-San was catching her breath in one of the many hallways of the school and wiped the dirt off her front side. There were a few small marks on her clothes but she gave up trying to rub them out. She looked at her camera to see if she had broken anything but it was perfectly fine. She sighed and put her camera into a bag before buying a drink.
"That was quite the strange thing for me to say back there. I should have said something more hectic, fits my character more."
She nodded to herself and finished her drink and decided to not go back to the back of the school since she was worrying that Sato-San might be keeping more of a watchful eye because of what happened. The bell rang and she headed back to class and continued the rest of the day as a normal student. Sato-San didn't go to the library after school so she left her steak out position and headed home.
"Guess I'll throw everything I got today in the evidence pile."
She entered her room to find her mother cleaning it. She noticed something in particular that made her heart drop.
"Mom?!"
"Y-Yes?"
"What did you do to my board?!"
Her bulletin board holding all of her evidence was completely cleared of everything on it.
"Where'd you put everything?!"
"W-Well I read online somewhere that what you were doing was going to lead to an unhealthy obsession, so I took everything and…."
"What did you do?"
"I sort of threw it out."
"How could you?!"
She was swinging her mother back and forth while wailing the same thing.
"Well, maybe now you can stop having an unhealthy crush! It's creepy to stalk someone you like!"
She let go and looked at her with a blank expression.
"….You thought I had that because I had a crush on Sato-San?"
"W-Was that not the case?"
"That was my evidence relating to a mystery! I'm not a stalker. Well then again…Wait wait! No, why would I have a crush on him! He's just the main subject of the mystery I'm trying to solve! And you wiped away my evidence! At least I still have videos…"
"….Sorry…"
Her mother was tearing up and you could see how hurt she was for messing up so bad.
"I just had the wrong idea! Please forgive me!"
Her mother jumped on her while begging for forgiveness.
"No! Not unless you buy me this very specific camera to make up for all the evidence you threw away!"
Her mother was sniffling a bit and looked at it. It was quite pricey and she just looked at the page for a bit.
'Ha! Just as excepted! I knew you wouldn't cough up the money for it. Now, feel horrible for what you've done for the rest of your life! Hahaha! Or well, at least until I solve this mystery. Now, what are you go-' "What the hell?!"
Her mother had ordered the camera and was looking towards Nishiyama-San teary eyed.
"This fixes everything right?"
"Uh…I-I guess so."
She beamed brightly and held her daughter tightly while spinning in circles. It was now time to rebuild all of her evidence from the beginning.
