Chapter 053: School Famous Chef

"We'll be going into cooking today, so don't burn yourselves because that'd lead to a lot of problems for me."

Sato-San was in his home economics class and they were about to start the cooking unit which he had hoped would never come. He couldn't cook if his life depended on it.

"I'll be selecting the groups since that's what I was told to do and I'm not really in the mood to be scolded by my superiors so please don't get upset at this."

Kumagai-Sensei was selecting the groups and after all of them were made Sato-San was the only person to not be in a group of three like intended and so he had been put into a duo team. He was paired with the best chef in their class so he felt relieved that he wouldn't have to do much.

"I'm Kaneko Yasu, I already know who you are but if you want to introduce yourself as well you can go ahead."

"Yeah, no."

"Haha, thought so…We'll let's get started! We just have to deal with being together."

"Unfortunately."

She grabbed all the ingredients they would need and looked towards Sato-San.

"Aren't you going to grab anything? Do anything? I mean we only have a period to do this so it would be better if we split up the work. This way we would be to speed the process up."

"Uhhhh…Can't you just do it all?"

"That would take way too long, why else do you think we're in groups? I mean besides of course limited resources but still."

"Well maybe I don't want to cook."

"Just do something at least. This way I don't have to do everything by myself, I mean I am very much so capable of doing everything by myself but if like to get this done as fast as possible so it's done on time."

"F-Fine. What exactly do you want me to do?"

"Just do all the measuring or something. People who don't have the desire to cook can never get anything good out of cooking for themselves. What I'm saying is that you're food wouldn't be good at al with that attitude."

"Oh really?"

"Yes."

"Would you like to put your theory in action?"

"Perhaps if you can prove me wrong I would be much more lenient on people who can't cook."

"Fine! You're on!"

They began cooking and Sato-San kept making small mistakes that Kaneko-San would keep fixing leading to some delays in what she was doing. After some time they finally finished and their food came out pretty mediocre. He even refused to taste test it since he had known what he had brought into this world.

"Um, Sato-San?"

"Y-Yes?"

"Could it be you can't cook?"

"So what about it?! I've tried before but it always comes out the same…Except for that one exception but even then that was just a fluke."

"The fact that my cooking skills couldn't even cover up you're horrible skills shows just how horrible you really are. Just think of all the food you've created that just wanted to be thrown away."

"Well it's finished now and the period is going to be over soon anyway. I could care less."

He began walking away before getting grabbed from behind. He turned around to see her holding onto his shirt.

"I refuse to let these occurrences happen again. I will forcefully teach you to cook and if I can't make you a better chef then I'm just another failure alongside you!"

"…And why would I want to learn how to cook from the likes of you? In fact why in general, I barely ever cook so it's not like there's really a need or anything."

"I refuse to have more food be tortured by your horrible hands. Please let me be your sensei."

"Uhhhh…Imma go now."

He started backing away but she wouldn't let him go.

"I won't let you go until you say you'll let me teach you!"

She was struggling really hard to hold him back and it made him feel a little sorry for her.

'I could say yes then just never show up. It doesn't seem like she can forcefully bring me here anyway.'

"Fine. Will you let me go now?"

"You better show whenever I decide on the lesson schedule."

"Sure. I will."

He was finally able to walk away and the bell rang so he headed for his next class but could still feel the presence of Kaneko-San somewhere behind him.
