Another Day

After his long day his mother just put her son to bed. He woke shortly, his eyes adjusting to the light, then he quickly checked. "Menu".

A long sigh escaped his lips, it wasn't a dream . He smiled, for the first time since he was a little kid he was excited to go to school, his mother had taught him how to make it look like he still had no ability, but that didn't crash his high. He wondered which ability he'd mimic today, then he thought, the bus driver had a minor future seeing ability, it allowed him to see crashes before it happened, he recalls, his strain of future vision was Hazard.

He got dressed and bolted down the stairs, grabbing his bag as he ran. "Hey mom I love you i'll grab breakfast at school". Alex heard her reply trail off as he ran to the bus stop. He sat for about 25 minutes just playing with a little flame in his palm. He heard the bus coming in front of him and quickly extinguished it, the doors opened and he boarded. Alex faked a little stumble, his palm grazing the bus drivers arm.

The bus driver recoiled. "Sorry Dan", Alex didn't realise his palm would still be warm from the flame, "it's okay Alex just tell your mother to make her toast a little colder next time" Dan let out a little laugh, he was one of the only people who were nice to Alex, but he only drove the bus on Wednesday's. Alex chuckled with him and went to take his seat at the back of the bus, he checked.

It had worked, but now he had to change it, he focused, concentrating on all the pain he felt and all the bullying.

Even though it said error he could still feel the Mana surging through him, he tested it out, standing up slightly on the bus as it made a fast turn. Images entered his mind, showing him fractions of what would happen, he quickly sat down. Alex muttered under his breathe, "Woah". He felt so powerful, like nothing could hurt him anymore, anyone's power was at his fingertips. Then he remembered.

Abby still knew about his ability, he needed to change that. And he knew exactly how, he'd stumble into her and enter her mind, using her skills to erase the memory. Alex soon realised, he'd become power hungry if he just kept jumping from power to power, so he made himself a promise, he would only be allowed to mimic one Mana a day.
