81. Limbo

Bownie and Red returned home at dawn. Although the snow had stopped long ago, the sky was still chilly and all the clan members were indoors.

Because of the additional weight they brought along, they couldn't use the tiny hole they dug up and thus used the main gate.

The two guards stationed at the gate were both a awake and run towards them when they saw two figures approaching dragging behind them a sack which was heavier than the both combined.

The two old grey foxes didn't expect to see the Chief's two troublesome grandkids out in the cold, and wasted no time in dragging the cocooned object they were dragging behind them and helped them inside.

They knew they were done for, for letting the younger ones out of the clans territory at night and without an escort on their watch. Although they had safely returned, it didn't change the fact that they were on their own for the whole night.
