AFTERMATH

I kept looking towards the destruction, Shalini tried to calm down Leela. Ramaiya and few men walked into the scene from a gully. Ramaiya looked at the destroyed building, he held his head with his hands, his eyes wide open, and his expressions took just few second to change. He turned towards me and said slowly, "What the fuck have you done?" I couldn't look into his eyes, he started running towards me and shouted, "What the fuck have you done?" he came onto me and punched me across the face, I couldn't stand that punch and I fell down, everyone stood there watching, he kicked me twice, got on top of me and punched enough times across my face, my lower lip tore. I was bleeding; he was still screaming and kept hitting me.

His anger was justified, and now I started regretting my decisions. He took few steps towards Leela, hugged her and started crying. I was breathing heavily, Naresh lend me a hand. Good thing, entire Shahbagh wasn't destroyed, we still had place to stay.

It was afternoon, chaos started to slow down, the helicopters still hovered over us, the police jeeps made several rounds throughout Fazaipur, and they declared a lockdown. Many people were still stuck in the town; they didn't even have place to sleep. They slept all over the streets. It was midnight, I couldn't sleep, and I was thinking about all the deaths that took place, all because of me, it was me who initiated this fucking rally! I got up and went to the terrace only to find Shalini there too.

We stood few feet away from each other, "I am sorry for your loss." I said.

"It's not like you haven't lost anything." She replied.

"I did not know things would go this wrong."

"We never know what would happen. My brother, he was like you, he with some of his friends breached the gates. They went in, but they never returned. I know what happens when you try to change the world, and what you did today, was something no one could ever do."

"I know, but I regret it now, I've lost everything. What do you think I should do now?"

"My suggestion should not matter to you, you are a white tiger, one in millions! If I were you, I'd keep fighting; I'd finish off what I started. I'll let them bomb entire Fazaipur, but I'd still fight for the future."

After sometime Shalini left, I was still on the terrace, I stayed there whole night, thinking. The sun rose over bruised Fazaipur. Naresh showed up at the terrace, "Hey dude, you alright? Shalini told me you'll be up here."

"I know what we are going to do Naresh, get the guys ready!"
