Tristan's Story

"You said you know nothing about me," Tristan Castelof said to Lena who was looking at him with a hint of concern on her face. "You're right. I know I never talk about myself." He paused and meeting her gaze, he asked, "Are you willing to listen to my story? I can assure you that it will be more extreme than you thought, Lena."

Lena Castelof didn't have to think twice as she was now overwhelmed with the desire to know her husband more. It was what she always wanted even before she married him. Then she nodded. "I will listen as long as you're willing to tell me."

Her response earned her a little yet unconvincing smile from Tristan. Then he broke their gaze and narrowed his eyes.

"You know what, ever since I was born, I was the Crown Prince. Everyone just assumed that I lead a well-sheltered life without hardships. In the case of many royals, it might be true but... not in my case," Tristan Castelof started. "I never want to lie to you but... I once do that."
