Chapter 32, A Hot Cup of Tea

Rowan broke into a run, barely waiting for the guards to open the door before she dodged inside.

“Elduine? Elduine!”

She had not needed to worry. The Elven general had been given the news as soon as he stepped in the doors. Rowan almost ran into him as he stood face to face with his father.

“You brought him here! Now he lies almost dead!” The King spoke harshly.

“Let me see him, Father, please,” Elduine’s voice was thick with worry.

Still speaking, the King and prince went into the room where Salinias was laying, tossing and turning with the waves of fever.

“You spoke of a river-lily tea,” General Tarik turned to the half-elves, “Is it possible to get some of those lilies for the prince?”

Atrian thought quickly and looked at his brother, “There should be some in the pack in the boat.

“Go,” Rowan commanded.

Danik raced to the boat on the river bank. He returned with dried river lilies that were crushed and steeped in hot water for a sweet tea.
