CHAPTER 19: FACE-SLAPPING 3

After the movie, the two went to a café and bought some cakes and milk tea. The girls took their seats after Arianna chose a caramel cake and Amy chose a vanilla cake.

"This is fantastic!" Arianna's eyes lit up as she ate spoonful after mouthful of cake, making customers in the shop look twice before getting the same cake she was eating.

She was like a free advertisement, and the café's business was booming as a result of her. Arianna was oblivious to what was going on as she ate her cake.

She was already running a SWOT analysis in her head because she was processing so many things in her thoughts. She couldn't wait for that day to arrive, and she vowed to hire the best confectioners for her cafes. She desired only the best because she is deserving of nothing less.

"It is, but don't eat too much because it's easy to get fat," Amy said as she took a spoonful of cake.

Arianna raised her head and smiled at Amy, who had eaten a small piece of her cake. Arianna really wanted to grab that cake and shove it down her throat.

"You don't have to be concerned about that, darling; eating is a blessing, and we should appreciate the opportunity to do so. So just relax and enjoy this cake, someone worked so hard to bring it to the table," Arianna replied innocently to Amy, who was busy playing with food.

Some of the people in the café looked at Arianna with puzzled eyes, unsure how to respond to her words because it was unusual to hear the young lady speak such touching words.

These young ladies appeared to them to be very selfish and only concerned with themselves. You'll know there's something wrong when they act all charitable. They never acted like Arianna was at the time. Most of them couldn't afford to buy these sweets and deserts because they were expensive, and yet these wealthy people played with food while the majority of the people went hungry.

After a while, Amy said, "I'll keep that in mind." After seeing the strange looks people were giving her, she felt as if she had been slapped in the face.

She could tell these people were more on Arianna's side than on hers. At the time, the only thing she could do was swallow it and add it to her list, hoping that one day she would receive what she was owed.

They ate their snacks together and then left arm in arm, as if they were best friends. Arianna didn't shake Amy away because she was aware of what was going on. Some people were apparently taking pictures of them, and since they couldn't chase them away, they could only pretend that nothing was happening.

Something wonderful happened on their way back to the car, which made Arianna wonder what Amy was up to. Who would have guessed Arianna would meet a classmate who was feuding with her?

This young lady was no noble, but she came from a well-known merchant family that had been in business for over a century. Arianna was disliked by this young girl since kindergarten, and the two never clicked for a second.

They were constantly at odds, fighting and exchanging insults whenever they crossed paths. It wasn't peaceful, but the strange thing was that this girl was Amy's friend, and Amy would always play the good girl and try to mediate between the two, even though it never worked.

"Look who was resurrected!" As the two came face to face, Esther sneered at Arianna.

Arianna examined her adversary carefully and couldn't help but notice that she was a worthy opponent. She was not only beautiful, but she also had the courage to speak up for herself. While others were terrified of people like Arianna, Esther was starting fights and preaching about how she was standing up for herself.

The two may have had disagreements, but does the fight have to last for years just because of that? Arianna looked at Esther and her small group of businesswomen's daughters. The thought of the almighty young lady being looked down on by these insignificant human beings made her blood boil.

"You should try it as well; you'll be surprised by what you see on the other side!" Esther choked as a result of Arianna's retort.

Esther was used to Arianna keeping it in most of the time, especially when they were in public; this is how Esther was able to win most of their verbal battles through strategy.

She just didn't expect Arianna to speak up in such a public place. She imagined that this time she would win big and humiliate Arianna so badly that she would crawl back to where she came from. Esther cast a glance at Amy before returning her attention to Arianna, who had a smug expression on her face and her brows raised.

"Shameless!"

"I am, to be sure, but what does that have to do with you? My business is what I do with my life, darling. And let me give you some advice, Esther: it's not a good idea for you to be someone's knife. One day you may die without knowing why," Arianna lamented as she looked at Esther.

How could she have been so blind to the fact that Amy was behind everything that involved Esther? She just didn't understand why Amy would go to such lengths to make someone completely unrelated despise her.

Esther was so enraged that she stumbled back; if it hadn't been for her minions holding her up, she would have fallen to the ground, which would have been extremely embarrassing for her.

Amy was astounded by Arianna's words as well. Did Arianna realize she was the one behind Esther's disappearance? What exactly did Arianna know? She was in a state of panic. She had intended to take things slowly, but it appeared that she was running out of time and needed to act quickly.

"This isn't over yet!" Esther stomped her feet before running away gracefully.

Arianna chuckled as she looked at her defeated foe; it felt great to slap so many people in the face.

"Let's go; we shouldn't be bothered by these types of people. They aren't deserving of it," Arianna said as she dragged Amy out of the mall. It was finally time for them to return home.
