CHAPTER 36: BIRTHDAY BANQUET 2

The two consoled themselves and dealt with the problem accordingly. They took some flutes of champagne and walked towards their classmates as soon as they entered the hall. It was time to carry out the first stage of their plan.

"OMG! Is that the ****** corporation's young master?"

"It's not just him; I can also see the famous Goddess Wendy!" exclaimed another.

"This is simply excessive. I can't believe I'm seeing so many celebrities here. How I wish I could get some autographs from them or just take a picture with them," another girl lamented, causing the other girls to laugh.

"Isn't that the famous scion of the ***** family over there? He even brought a date, is that his girlfriend?"

"I have a lot of admiration for that girl. She isn't particularly attractive, but she gets to wrap her skinny body around him. Why can't my fortune be as good as hers?"

"Blame your ancestors for not working hard; you are now paying the price!" exclaimed the other jokester, making the girls laugh and the atmosphere more vibrant and warm.

"You…..!"

"Put it out of your mind. We've come to celebrate the birthday and possibly watch some dramas."

"You are correct; there is no way a day like this will go by peacefully without someone causing a scene," another girl agreed.

"My only wish is to meet my prince charming on this day."

"Do you imagine yourself to be Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, dream on?"

The hall was alive with activity because it was packed with people. There were so many clusters around, the elders were on their own, and those youngsters who came with the family's elders were introduced everywhere until they were tired, but they all knew the elders were doing it for their own good and appreciated the good gesture.

The host finally stood at the podium ten minutes before five and asked for order, forcing everyone to behave and listen to the beautiful lady hosting the banquet.

"I would like to welcome you all to our young lady Nadia's coming-of-age ceremony as well as her eighteenth birthday......"

"Has she arrived yet?" As she looked at her watch, Nadia asked for the umpteenth time that evening.

"I'm afraid she isn't yet here," the nanny didn't know what to say in response to this question.

"Does she think I'm a joke?" Nadia yelled as she smacked a bottle of hairspray against the wall, leaving a small scratch.

"Please, my lady, calm down. I don't think she won't show, after all, it's no longer a secret that she's in the duchy," the nanny tried to reassure Nadia, but she refused.

"Others arrived early, but she wants to arrive after me, as if this is her special day. I'm going to deal with that vixen one way or the other," Nadia fumed angrily. She couldn't believe someone could show up late to her party. Wasn't Arianna going to smack her in the face?

"We should go to the hall now; it won't be good if you are late," the nanny said softly, calming Nadia.

"This is my big day, so I'm not going to fall for that vixen's tricks and ruin it. Let's go, it won't be too late for my vengeance," Nadia said, gritting her teeth. The nanny exhaled a sigh of relief when she saw that her young lady had been persuaded.

Nadia had been planning this day for a long time, and she had so many people ready to make things difficult for Arianna, so all she had to do at the moment was suppress her rage and put on that perfect smile. She wasn't going to blow up on this day; it was her day, and Arianna was not going to ruin it.

Nadia lightly touched her face to remove the smudged make-up that had resulted from her earlier outburst. She had to look at herself for a while before she was satisfied.

She rose from the padded stool and spun around, looking in the mirror once more. She wore a strapless royal purple gown today, showcasing her slender shoulders and smooth skin.

Nadia had the right to flaunt her body because it belonged to the first tier; she had the best bone structure, which resulted in her body being in perfect proportion. She could be a model even if she was not born into her family and still be well-known.

She doubted Arianna could beat her in this category. She chose this gown because it had been specially customized for her, making it the only gown in the universe.

It was handcrafted, with each stitch done with meticulous care, and the embroidery on the lower part depicting an exquisite pair of wings. There weren't many gems in the gown, but those who were experts could tell the gown's value at a glance.

Nadia exited her room gracefully, her hands clasped in front of her as if she were an ancient empress. She didn't take the elevator, but instead took the stairs one by one, hoping that by the time she arrived at the hall, her mind would be calm and her anger would have subsided. The host had already summoned her to stand in front of the guests by the time she appeared.

"She looks stunning!"

"OMG! Take a look at that gown!"

The same exclamations were heard as Nadia walked gracefully to the podium where she would deliver her speech.

Before standing, she smiled politely at the host. Her eyes began to search through the crowd, but she was only looking for one person. She was frustrated on the inside because she couldn't find her no matter how hard she tried. Did she really not show up to her banquet after making such a fuss online the day before and today?

"It is a great honor for me to have all of your distinguished friends and guests from all over come and grace me with your presence. I just wanted to say thank you for traveling such a long distance to join me in celebrating this special day. I hope you have a good time and a pleasant evening," Nadia spoke softly with a smile on her face, and there was an applause. When she was about to step away from the podium, her gaze was drawn to a familiar figure, and from a distance she noticed a smirk on that person's face, which caused Nadia to almost swagger in front of the audience.

"That b****, I'm going to make her pay!" she yelled in her head.
