I touched my pants pocket to make sure my phone didn't fall out.
"Come on" he slid open the balcony door and moved to the side to let me go in first.
As I walk in I looked around.
The apartment didn't have a smell but it looked clean.
"This is a nice apartment" I said aloud as he shut the door behind himself.
"I know" he said heading towards the front door of his apartment. I walked towards the door too and walked outside as he held the door open for me. As we finally reached the last step I stepped to the side to let him get in front of me so he could show me the way.
I looked at the back of his head then his entire figure as he walked. He reached in his pants pocket to grabbed something jingly.
His abruptive stop pulled me away from my thoughts. Greylar pressed a button on his car keys and walked towards the driver side of his car. I walked to the passengers side and got into the car. Then I shut the door and reached for my seat belt.
I feel so nervous.
I'm not getting any serial killer vibes. I could also be wrong though.
Well you already messed up by getting in the car with him. There is no turning back now.
He started the car.
I wanted to look at him but I was nervous.
I turned my head from my window and looked forward. The car was moving in reverse and I snuck a glance at Greylar as he backed the car up. I looked back towards the front, then at my lap as the sound of the car became louder than silence.
"What are you thinking about?"
He glanced at me then the road.
"If you planned on killing me you would of thrown me off the balcony".
"I see.....Can you guess where I'm taking you" he pulled off and the view of the apartment complex became smaller as he drove away.
"Umm where could we go at this time of the day....the only thing I can think of is the museum because its still opened."
"Nope" I watched him as he drove.
I watched as his hands turn with the wheel.
His skin looked so pale today.
"The uhh....mall??" I say unsure of my answer.
"Wrong."
"I give uppppp" I sigh.
"Ha already, we just started playing this guessing game. I do have something I would like to ask you" he said watching the road like a deer was going to jump in front of it any minute now.
"What is it?" I turned a bit towards him so I could watch him as he spoke.
"Do you believe in saints?"
I could feel the car speed up. The air inside the car was much warmer compared to the air outside.
Saints?
"No. I honestly do not" I said.
"Explain" he adjusted the ac.
"I believe that people can be good and/or bad whether their environments were great or not, or the people they surround themselves with. But I don't believe there are saints. Everyone has done something or will end up doing something that's questionable. Whether it makes sense or not. Everyone is too opinionated, the world is changing, people are changing, and things you think are right may be wrong, vice versa. I feel like because this world is connected and is the gateway between two different realms, heaven and hell, you can be anything you want to be."
"Hmm...saint" He said then it fell silent.
"So in other words, you can try to be a saint but that doesn't mean you are one" I nodded in agreement.
"What do you think?" I say, watching his hands move with the steering wheel.
He made a left turn using his left hand.
"As of now I don't know" he said after a short pause.
"For the record, you are right, if I wanted to kill you I would have pushed you off the balcony. No that's too amateurish. I wouldn't have been that stupid. Maybe I would have too set your apartment on fire....no no thats childs play. Maybe-"
"Okay you psycho....stop trying to scare me" he laughed at me.
"Haha your right. Not cool. Sorry" he chuckled.
I laughed right after.
We've passed by a lot of Halloween decorations. I just love how much effort people put into this and how they've bought everything together. October is the best month ever.
"You like Halloween?" he said.
"What?"
I looked at him.
"The way you look at the Halloween decorations I can tell you really like Halloween. Could your birthday be this month too???" He grinned.
"Yes I love Halloween and Oct 13. Don't forget" I say pointing my finger at him and squinting my eyes.
He chuckled.
"Noted. Close your eyes please" his voice is so attractive.
I closed them and twenty minutes later the car came to a complete stop. I felt my pockets to make sure my phone was still in my pocket. The sound of the car turned off and a door opened, letting in a cold wind. Another door opened but it was my door because the temperature of the wind felt even colder and the sound of the wind was louder.
Greylar picked up my hand from my lap and tugged at it twice. I put one foot out of the car and he pulled me to my feet.
"Are you trying to impress me psycho" I chuckled.
"Maybe" his voice was clear.
I could hear trees swaying from the wind.
"The park?" He placed his hands on my shoulder and told me to open my eyes. I opened them, only to see bright and beautiful sunflowers behind him. I almost wanted to run through them like in a movie.
I looked at him.
"Mmm you were close. More so a field" he said grinning.
"Follow" he said taking off in a jog.
I was smiling in the inside and started to slowly smile on the outside. I didn't want to fall behind so I made sure there was a way I couldn't get loss. I watched him as he ran, while keeping up with him.
This feels like a dream almost. I don't think a guy has ever tried to hangout with me this much.
I looked around as I was running. Feeling the texture of the sunflowers for a second as I passed by them.
I wanted to inspect each sunflower carefully because it feels like I have not gotten a good enough look at them. They are not as tall as I thought they'd be.
"Here."
I would of ran into Greylar's back if he hadn't said anything.
He stood still.
Just looking at him from the back reminded me how tall he actually was.
"Watch the rock" he said.
I looked down as he stepped over it.
"This is my first time seeing them" I rubbed a petal of a sunflower next to me. I turned to look at him and he was sitting on a different rock from the one he stepped over.
