Half a week later in the morning, Mitsuna waited for her mother as per usual.
After a minute she arrived with the usual 'good morning' and they both made their way to the dining room.
As of late Mitsuna has stopped eating alone and now enjoys her time with her family.
This morning however lacked the slightly cheery atmosphere as this was the day Mitsuna would be sent to train under a teacher.
Within the last few days, all she found out was that her teacher was of the angel race.
Greeting her family like usual, Mitsuna sat down and enjoyed her food. It was strangely quiet.
"Are you prepared to depart?" Midithyr asked suddenly.
"Yes, father."
"Good, I have made all the necessary preparations."
After breakfast, Mitsuna found herself in a carriage drawn by two winged horses.
The carriage took to the sky, leaving her home behind.
Looking outside the window, Mitsuna could see the ground getting farther away along with the castle.
"Careful you don't break the window and fall." a voice said.
Turning towards the voice, Mitsuna saw her mother and father.
Along with her brother who sat next to her, Mitsuna was now confused because of the lasting silence during breakfast.
'I thought I would be sent off not that I would be escorted there by the entire family.'
Looking towards her brother Mitsuna could tell that he was taking in the landscape.
'What has gotten into him?'
Turning back to her parents, her father was asleep on her mother's shoulder while she had glasses on and was reading a book.
'So this is just as boring as regular flights? I don't get how so many main characters from manga are so excited. Just because it's in another world doesn't mean there is much more to look at while taking a flight. Clouds are still clouds and fields are still fields.'
Looking outside the window once more, Mitsuna felt drowsy and soon fell asleep.
Waking up at around 4 in the morning, she could see how everyone else was now asleep.
Taking the book from her mother out of curiosity, she started reading.
A day passed just like that. No one questioned how she could read and no one disturbed her reading even when everyone had woken up.
After finishing the book, Mitsuna turned the page back to the one her mother was on and passed it back to her.
"Did you like it?"
"Mhm."
"Gonna go back to sleep? We still have about a day to go."
"I think I will."
And the moment she said that, she fell on her brother's shoulder and fell asleep just like she said.
The rest was pleasant. Just like her last one.
Waking up at around midnight.
Mitsuna took a glance outside the carriage window.
Seeing a floating island with what seemed to be polar lights shining above it.
The floating island had a gigantic blue coloured glowing gem growing out from the bottom of it.
Some yellow lights also seemed to fly around the island like fireflies. Although since it seemed accurate to call this place a home for winged folk, Mitsuna guessed that those were flying angels.
On the island were countless buildings and two castles, it seemed as though every light on the island was turned on as it glowed within the night, mixing the blue polar lights and gem glow with the yellow lights from the island was a sight to behold.
Looking around a little more, she saw a few armoured men with white wings flying around their carriage as well as their normal knights.
'I guess that Island sent a few extra guards since we are in their territory. Diplomatic relations are difficult to keep balanced and even a single misstep could lead to war.'
Suddenly drifting back off to sleep while enjoying the view, Mitsuna lightly fell back on her brother's shoulder.
'I guess I get why manga characters like the view here more than the one on earth.'
...
The next morning, the island was nowhere to be seen.
Asking her parents about it, they answered that it was this countries capital.
Not asking much more, Mitsuna wondered where her teacher would be if not the capital.
...
In a small wooden hut a woman with blond hair stood up and got dressed, no wings could be seen on her back.
"They should be here by today."
She yawned and stretched her body.
"Finally a pupil who hopefully won't be disappointing. I hope Mid doesn't let me down."
"They should arrive at Trinns, right? That is the closest to my house. I hope they don't go to the capital or anything. That place sucks."
Placing her sword on her hip, she walked out of the house with another yawn and closed the door.
A moment later, the flapping of wings could be heard.
