Inglis, The Country of Angels

Arriving at a town called Tennis, the carriage landed and they walked out.

Finally, after nearly 3 whole days they could stretch.

Midithyr suggested splitting up and enjoying the city for now since Mitsuna's teacher would arrive in an hour at most.

"I have dibs on Mitsuna. We barely ever get to hang out with you boys always butting in."

"Ary spend some time with your son. I'm sure he feels left out."

Aryamis looked towards Jameson only to see a slightly sad smile on his face.

"Oh my god! I'm sorry honey, you know your mommy loves you right?! Come on let's go explore a little~."

With Mitsuna's mother leaving like a worried storm, she and her father then also started to look around.

Midithyr led Mitsuna to a jewellery store.

Picking a necklace for himself and a ring for Mitsuna, he told her that the jewellery made by the angels is rare and expensive since they have the property of calming one down and helping with mana regeneration.

Leaving the store with a silver ring holding a blue gem that Mitsuna placed on her index finger on her left hand, Mitsuna looked as her father placed his necklace in the air, making it disappear.

"How do you do that?"

"Inventory? Well once you get strong enough the System lets you gain access to some locked features. This is one of them."

"How strong do I have to be to use that?"

"About as strong as your brother."

"How strong is my brother?"

"Hmm. If he could use his legs he would give me a run for my money."

"Is that a pun?"

"Pun?"

"Nevermind."

Thanking the heavens that her father does not know about 'dad jokes', Mitsuna was dragged to another shop by Midithyr and had a nice lunch with him.

After spending a lot of time with him, Mitsuna realized that her father was a pretty quiet person but had loud thoughts and reactions. When no one starts a conversation with him first, it could be a little hard to get along.

'I like him.' Mitsuna thought as she continued to slurp her noodles.

Leaving the restaurant, Mitsuna looked up to see angels flying around.

There were also a few in the streets walking but almost all residents fly to their location since it's easier.

"Father, what is this country called again?"

"This country? This is the country of angels, Inglis."

But when someone does get to break the ice and speak to him, they get to know that Midithyr is a smart and funny man.

"Most of the residents are angels. While there are some beast folk they are not that common."

"The angels are very prideful and some think that they own the skies. And since they are so prideful they only openly communicate with others who have wings, flight magic isn't enough to earn their respect. Pretty stupid if you ask me, the most I see them as are white crows and pigeons."

"Oh. I see."

"You there what did you just say?!"

A sudden shout rang out.

'Oh god. Don't tell me it's one of those-'

"Did you just insult the entire angel race?! I can not have you get away with that!"

'Uhhh.'

"You see, I was born with keen hearing so I clearly heard the rude remarks you just made. If you beg for forgiveness on your hands and knees along with your daughter I might think about letting you survive."

"I will not. However I think you should."

The angel suddenly fell on the ground, hard.

Since the yelling had gathered a rather large crowd, Midithyr spoke loudly so everyone watching could hear.

"I have shown your stupid race once and I can show you again. You are not the rulers of the sky."

A pressure came from Midithyr that affected all flying entities within the area.

"The rulers are the ones who arrived and conquered first. That Title belongs to my clan."

Midithyr stepped on the face of the one who heard his insult.

"Hear me, pigeons. I am Midithyr Ashen of the Lunar Ash Dragon Clan. If you do not wish to start another war, which you shall lose, then know your place, insects of the sky."

Stabbing his finger through the ear of the angel, he removed his foot from his face and walked off with Mitsuna in tow.

"Honey! What did you do?!"

When they were far enough away from the crowd, Aryamis approached with Jameson.

"Well I insulted them, they heard it and wanted me to apologize."

"Oh is that all? Nevermind then. The human-shaped crows need to know their place after all."

Mitsuna had realized perhaps a little too late, that her parents are extremely strong.

'So this is why learning combat was so important. Without strength, you'll just fall in this world.'

Mitsuna seemed strangely calm, perhaps this was her upbringing and young mind at work but she didn't see what her father did as wrong.

On the contrary, the pigeons were the ones at fault.

If this were the past her she would have been terrified.

But this time, it seems that being born and raised as a strong monster has closed her heart to blood and gore. It's just life.

It's just life is also an answer she got when she asked his brother if he was okay after he got injured at training and received a cut on his stomach.

Or maybe he just wanted to seem cool in front of his sister.

"Eyo, Mid. Wheres my pupil?"

A sudden shout rang out.

"Ey, Ary. You here too?"

Turning around, Mitsuna saw a relatively young girl who looked to be around 17.

Blond hair with tanned skin and red eyes, she wore a white hoodie and glasses with black jeans.

She was eating a lollipop.

"Hey, Em. This is the girl."

"It's a girl? Thank god. I am so tired of training h*rny f*cking teenage boys."

"I get what you mean."

"So can I check her out?"

"You'll have to ask her."

"Hmm."

Mitsuna had guessed that this was her teacher since how she acted with her parents was very different compared to others.

The angel that seemed to be Mitsuna's teacher looked at her closely while crouching down.

"What's your name?"

"Mitsuna."

"How do you breathe?"

'Well, that was out of left field.'

"Um. Well?"

"Pft. I like her."

"Great. So when are you getting an offspring?"

"Bruh. Do you see me getting a man for myself in the future?"

"Maybe someday."

"People say I look childish."

"I think you look pretty." Mitsuna interjected.

"Alright. I like her a lot." the angel said as she patted Mitsuna's head.

"Heh. I knew you would."

"Does she have any interesting skills or the like?"

"Her talent is a title that we are blocked from seeing and she has a unique skill we don't know the use for."

"Hmm. Their names?"

"The skill is called [Determination], the Title we have no idea."

"But Mitsuna here should know right?"

"Yeah, but we didn't pry."

"You're too good of a parent." the angel said as she turned towards Mitsuna once again.

"What Title did you get?"

"Uhm. Can I whisper?"

"Go ahead. I won't spill."

" 'Future Calamitas' "

"Hoh. Never heard of it. Effects?"

Listing off all she could get from the system about the Title, Mitsuna could see the angel get a huge grin.

"Damn. I want her to be my daughter. She is way too good to pass up."

"You think so?"

"Man Mid. I think I finally found my successor. That Title is something even you or me would want."

"That crazy?"

"Hey, I promised not to spill."

"True."

"Anyway. I'll be taking her then."
