Lucinda's POV
I woke up a few hours later with a groan. My body ached from the excessive amount of swimming I did yesterday.
I rubbed my eyes and walked downstairs. What I wasn't expecting to find was Lucian in my kitchen.
I wasn't sure what he was doing and when I got closer I saw he was making breakfast.
"You're still here?" I asked while raising a brow.
I opened the fridge and he smacked my hand and led me towards the chair on the kitchen isle.
"Well I did say we were going to continue our conversation" he said while returning to his cooking.
"Huh... Then why won't you let me eat something?" I whined.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm making breakfast." he stated.
"Ugh! You're impossible... What do you want anyway? I have to leave soon" I said and he narrowed his eyes at me.
"Where are you going?" he asked suspiciously. I felt like I was a teenager under investigation.
"None of your business" I said and he put the plate in front of me. He slammed his fist on the table and I jumped back startled.
He looked into my eyes with a burning fury.
"I believe...", he breathed in and out, "... as my future wife it is" he said and I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
"What makes you so sure" I said while stuffing eggs in my mouth. He calmed down slightly an let out an exasperated sigh. He put my free hand in his.
"C'mon Lucy... Let's face the facts. We both know you're never going to succeed. Why don't you just call Lucifer and tell him you give up then you and me can get married and live our life together..." he said trying to convince me.
I renched my away from his. I put my fork down on the plate and bit the inside of my cheek. I hate when he does this. I get that he wants to marry me but that doesn't mean I want to spend the rest of eternity being his wife.
The whole idea makes me shudder in disgust.
"Listen Lucian... I still have one more stone left so you don't get to tell me what to do. I get where you're coming from but at least give me until this year ends... Okay? So stop patronizing me..." with that I stood up and left my surprisingly good breakfast and went to my room.
Sigh!
Technically Lucian wasn't lying but I refuse to give up hope. I can't go back. I WON'T go back.
When I headed to the shower an excruciating jolt of pain shot up my arm. I groaned in pain.
Huh... What do you know?
I upset daddy's boy.
The whiplashes on my arm began to burn as though someone poured acid on them. I dragged myself to the shower to pour cold water on it but it only made everything worse.
Ugh!
This is more infuriating than having a conversation with Donavan!
At the sudden thought of him the pain faded. I shrugged and with a satisfied 'hmm' I took a shower and headed to the library.
I really hope I don't bump into Donavan... I've already had enough with one jerk today. I can deal with another.
I pushed through the library door and headed to my romance section without even greeting Melissa.
Just to make sure I checked every isle to make sure he wasn't there.
Melissa's watchful gaze looked at me suspiciously. I approached the reception and slumped on a chair across her.
"What's got you so upset?" she asked.
"Why would I be upset?" I asked.
"Did you just answer my question with another question?" she asked.
"I don't know... Did I?" I asked.
She stared me deep and my eyes and sighed.
"Seriously though... You good?" she asked.
I was about to answer when my stomach growled loudly.
Damn you Lucian!
You made me skip breakfast.
She laughed and looked at me with a content smile on her face.
"I guess you're just a little hungry" she said.
At least I got out of that conversation.
"Yeah. I'm gonna head over to Tia's to grab something to eat" I said grabbing my purse.
"Tell Victor I said hi" she said with a slight blush on her cheeks.
"You can tell him that after I give him your number" I said teasingly.
"I swear Luce I will murder you if you do" she said with a serious face.
I burst out laughing.
"I thought you liked him" I said calming down.
"I do... but you don't get to decide whether I tell or not" she said crossing her arms on her chest.
"You do you boo", I said, "I'll see you tomorrow".
I walked out of the library and headed to Tia's. When I walked around the corner I came to see Donavan, but he wasn't looking at me.
Instead he looked like he was trying to hoard off random bimbo.
She looked like a knock off version of Barbie. She had terribly dyed blonde hair, blue contact lenses while the other wasn't put in the right way, long pink nails and a skin tight pleather pink jumpsuit with leopard print which showed way too much skin.
My eye twitched.
Why is she so close to him?!
Why is he letting her touch him?!
Wait?
Why do I care?
I gasped when she went to kiss him. I guess I was too loud.
He turned around and looked at me and I didn't have time to think so I bolted.
I didn't really have time to see his reaction. I bet there's a smirk on that jerks face.
Ugh!
Why did I run!
I hate my life!
What he's following me? I stopped and checked to see if anyone was following me. There was no one there.
I weird feeling sunk into the pit of my stomach.
Did I want him to follow me?
Of course not!
I'm probably just hungry. So then I proceeded to Tia's Cafe to fill this hungry belly.
I walked into the Cafe and was given my usual warm greeting.
"Lucy!" everyone chanted.
Everyone else in the line groaned.
I spotted a male walking out of the kitchen and I approached him.
"Victor darling! Do I have news for you"
