Lucinda's POV
After torturing Victor about Melissa for a while he had to go back to work. I sat on the Cafe table staring absently into my coffee as though it were the most interesting thing in the world.
Diego was on date with Mathias and Tia went to a meeting. Everyone else was busy with their jobs while I was bored out of my mind.
Suddenly a random stranger sat on the chair across from me. She had brown hair and the same colored eyes. Freckles plastered her sun tanned skin with pale pink lips in a wide grin.
"Rough day?" she said.
What the fuck...
"Uh... Sure" I said and stared back at my coffee. I am bored but not enough to converse with a stranger.
If I was that desperate I would have gone to a club.
"You look like you need a man in your life" she said.
Hold up!
What?!
"Excuse me?" I said putting my attention to her.
"Oh sorry... Brendaline McCloen... Certified Life Couch. I was trained to notice these things." she said proudly.
Huh?
"So you just randomly give people free therapy sessions?" I raised my brow sceptically.
"No. You just looked really interesting and I thought I might try to read you." she said.
I internally rolled my eyes.
"So you're a psychic now" I mused.
She laughed.
"I like you. You're funny" she giggled.
I raised my brows in agreement.
"So do you agree with me?" she asked.
"About what?" I asked confused.
"That you need a man in your life" she stated.
"Absolutely not" I deadpanned
"Why!" she whined like a child.
"Because..." I said.
She rolled her eyes and let out a sigh.
Then she stood up, grabbed my hand and began to lead me out of the Café. I didn't have time to react and I was immediately out the door.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked trying to yank my hand back from her iron grip.
If I pulled any harder I might dislocate her shoulder... and possibly break her wrist...
"To go have lunch"

After my futile attempts to get away from this crazy psycho she finally stopped in front of a fancy looking restaurant.
She walked in and gestured for me to follow her. I hesitated but followed her in. From the decor I could tell it was a five-star restaurant.
There were round tables covered in a eggshell colored table cloth, red carpeted floors, comfy looking sofa-chairs on both ends of the table, fancy chandeliers hanging from the ceiling illuminating the room in a sensual way and red rose centerpieces. The room had a very beige aesthetic but felt cozy.
Eyes of the snobs on their high horses turn to us upon arrival. Their judgment filled eyes criticized our very appearance... Or rather me...
'Who comes to such an establishment dressed like that?!'
'Has she not heard of fine dining'
'She is degrading the very value of people who are allowed in here'
'Perhaps she's the new help. They could use a little extra hands seeing as to they are short staffed'
I turned around to the group of ladies a good distance away from me. They looked shocked that I turned around as they were so far from me a normal human couldn't hear but I'm no ordinary human.
But
To shock them even more I raised both of my middle fingers at them and stuck out my tongue. They gasped and I blew them a kiss. Brendaline next to me snickered.
I beamed with pride.
A man dressed very fancy ushered us to a more secluded area in the restaurant. It looked like a VIP area.
People watched in envy like it was the greatest achievement in this fucking realm. I rolled my eyes.
I sat down at a table for two with Brendaline. Honestly I'm not even sure why I'm here but hey... Who can say no to free food.
"So... We've been hanging for a while and I don't even know your name" she said.
"We've only known each other for two minutes..." I stated.
"It's an hour and a half but seriously!" she pegged.
"Lucinda Morningstar, Certified Slacker and lover of free food" I said and stuck out my hand.
She laughed and shakes my hand.
"Noted... Hold up... Your last name is Morningstar?!" she exclaimed.
I raised my eyebrow in agreement.
"Maiden name?" she asked.
I shook my head.
"I don't remember my Maiden name. Morningstar is my Guardian's last name so I just went with it" I said.
It's not like I wasn't ripped from my family at the tender age of five so yeah. My memory is pretty foggy.
"Oh you're adopted?" she asked.
"Something like that... Anyway no offense or whatever but how in hell of worlds are you a certified life coach and be able to afford sitting in a five-star restaurants VIP section?" I asked.
I have a tendency to be abrupt sometimes. Apparently that's the not the 'human' way.
She let out a light chuckle.
"I own the restaurant" she said.
"No shit!" I said.
"Oh yeah... Actually I own quite a couple of them here" she said and I raised my brows.
I never took this persistent brunette for a restaurant chain owner. The world will surprise you.
"That impressive" I said.
She waved me off.
"It's nothing really... What do you do? I mean, I know designer combat boots when I see them" she mused.
I chuckled.
"Absolutely nothing" I said.
She raised her brows.
"No way" she exclaimed.
"Way" I said.
"Then how do you provide for yourself" she asked.
"It's a long and complicated story" I said.
"Well I'd love to hear it sometime" she said.
Maybe...
"Anyway back to why we're here" she said clapping her hands. "We need to find you a boyfriend"
I scoffed.
"We're still on that" I groaned.
"C'mon Cece... Do it for me" she begged.
Cece?
"No" I said.
"C'mon please... We'll uh.... We can have a double date!" she said excited.
I furrowed my brows.
Double date?
"Ugh! If I say yes will you stop annoying me?" I asked even though I already knew the answer.
She nodded her head really excitedly.
I rolled my eyes at her childishness.
"Fine" I said and she jumped up and squealed in casing me in a very awkward hug but she was too excited to notice.
After the waiter came back to take our orders and bring us our food. Me and Brendaline conversed for most of the day until it got so late it was dark outside.
After a much needed stretch we exchanged numbers and bid our farewells. I walked home with a smile on my face that day.
Today was a good day after all.
