At the end he chose to up his guard. He still valued his life. As long as he was alive he could still be proud of himself.
Jane was a little unsettled when Austin glanced at her for no rhyme or reason.
'This man is formidable. He could not know our plans could he?' She thought that it would not be good if he chose to take part in the mess.
Only God knew how much blood he had splattered to reach his current position. She felt that this man was too secretive. All the Intel that was on the market was fabricated. There were no potential flaws even but Jane knew that the lies and truths were mixed together to make the information sound more plausible.
She cautiously looked around and thought of checking her preparations one last time.
She noticed a few odd looks and ultimately decided not to go. It would seem too inconspicuous.
Catherine nudged her-"It will be fine. You should go now. I'll take over from here."
With a 'Hmmm' Jane went into the cover of darkness and circled round the main palace until she came to a halt in front of a grape vine trailing all over a battered and broken door.
The trees gave a faint rustling sound in the air. Jane took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
'Two, four, seven – there were seven hidden experts in the trees. Still today was the day. She had nothing to hide. She went to the door and squatted on the ground groping for a lever. Once she found it she turned it three times clockwise and two times anticlockwise.
The initial battered door immediately radiated a faint golden light and creaked open.
This was the room that was overflowing with life energy and was most suitable in undergoing manifestation.
She calmed her mind and set a goal for herself. Today she must definitely surpass her limits and comprehend the 'Living Law'- a law that governs the life and its progress till death.
It would be a lie to say that Jane wasn't nervous. She was sweating profusely as she sat on the throne in the center on the raised stage. She heard and saw every living thing that existed, their lives, death, sufferings and evils. She gradually began to dwell only on the grief, suffering betrayals, despair, greed, jealousy etc.
She felt herself being drawn into an endless abyss and all the sounds round her became more and more prominent- her head was going to burst and she felt that she was better off dying.
'Yes Dying!'
'She was better off dying'
'She was the reason her mother died'
'She spent all her time manipulating people'
'All she thought about was revenge'
'Can a person will nothing but vengeance as her life goal be worthy of living?'
'No! Definitely no'
'She was evil. Her heart was black.'
Jane knew this fact.
'If all she cared was death then it is better to understand death!'
'Why bother about the living?'
Indeed it was true. She had only ever wanted to kill her father and take the throne.
As for what lies ahead she had indeed not thought about it.
