Chapter 17: The Factory

The brothers had arrived at the factory two hours later, having readied themselves and rode at a moderate pace towards their father’s factory at the outskirts of town. They had opted to leaving Thomas back at the manor, much to Jake’s dismay.

The factory was a large thing, even greater than the manor in town. Jake couldn't help but think it was a striking difference in architecture. Where the manor was built from wood, the factory consisted of metal and stone. Large chimneys sat atop its roof and Jake watched as it spewed smoke from the opening.

Once the large iron gates opened up to them, Jake was greeted by the loud barking of hounds. He heard them before he saw them, and when he saw them the hairs on his neck rose up.

“Jake?” He heard Accalia’s voice ring out to him in his mind, “Jake are you alright?”

“Yes,” it took him a moment to respond, not yet used to having this link with her.

“I sensed your fear, are you sure? Where are you?”
