chapter 4

Rose looked at Eric with annoyance as his guardian, Rifa, explained everything to him. She took this time to wander her eyes through the room that she was sitting in. It was a large hall, filled with all kinds of luxuries. Large and expensive sofas, cabinets which seemed to be filled with ornaments, dark green curtains which seemed to shine with every movement of wind. Rose could see the dining room from her seat and she was surprised to see Rifa's wife sitting there all alone, sobbing slowly like a human. The sobbing Ager seemed to sense Rose's gaze and immediately looked at her direction, Rose quickly looked down and felt a bit embarrassed. She then glanced at the gigantic walls covered with paintings of War. She was intrigued by the amazing talent displayed on the walls. "So, you mean I am to go to this...Eresia and fight with a dark wizard to save the people I hardly know?", " No, thank you , I will pass'. Rose's attention was immediately on Eric now. She felt frustration and anger surging in her. She immediately stood up and in a flash Arisha, Rifa's wife was standing infront of Eric, as if to protect him from her. Rifa put a hand on his wife's shoulder to calm her and she did but did not move from her position. Eric was shocked to see his 'mother' in this form. He could just stand and watch as he was too speechless to say anything. Rifa looked devastated but he still spoke with power " Ignis, I think we should take some time and then decide on his departure." Rose felt a bit sad for the Ager couple infont of her. She knew that they were in love with their son but she was on a mission which needed immediate action and she could not let emotion get in the way. " Agers, together with being the daughter of one of the Elders, I am also the Alte Protector of Eresia and by our Regina's order I am here to take Eric Osborne to Eresia where he is needed and belongs. I am sure, you will not disobey our Regina." Both the protectors stared at her wide eyed. They were powerful creatures but not even they could go against the most powerful Regina of Eresia. Rose felt a tinge of pity for the Agers and after a moment of awkward silence she spoke. " I give you both today's day with him and come tomorrow morning, he leaves with me ". The Agers looked relieved at her words. Tears flowed down Arisha's cheeks. " Remember Agers, prepare him well and... i am sorry ". The couple and Rose exchanged sympathetic gazes and quiet abruptly Rose turned and marched out of the house before tears started to flow from her own eyes.
