"once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes everything"

HELEN
Once again I am the new girl, in a new school; the one everybody is curious about, the latest and the hottest topic of the popular gossip in school. But somehow it feels different this time around, instead of riding it alone a usual; I caught the eye of the school sweetheart and got lucky.
Unlike all the other times that I've had to switch schools because my Dad got transferred, I didn't fall victim of the school bully or find myself on the radar of a mean popular girl; instead I met the most wonderful set of people and became a member of one of the most popular group in school overnight.
Before going to school on that first day, I was terrified of what was going to happen when I got there, what new unpleasant experience would I be going home with when I return back home; and what new troubles would I be forced to battle with for the rest of highschool days. Those were the questions swimming through my mind as my dad drove me to school on my first day.
I ran several scenerios in mind of how the would turn out, and because of past experience; none of those scenerios have a good ending. So instead of getting my hopes hung on a miracle that might never happen, I resigned myself to fate.
But my streak of bad of always having the worst firstbin a new school changed when I got paired with Mason and inadvertently gained wonderful new friends by associating with him.
May practically dragged me everywhere after she introduced herself and the guys were very accommodating and friendly towards me like we're known each other for over a decade. It was the first time experience for me and I was pleasantly surprised.I enjoyed their company a lot except for Henry; whose attitude was both creepy and irritating. I dislike him and I plan to steer clear of him as much as possible.
Mason wasn't overly friendly but he was courteous and attentive. He never complained once to when most of the teachers requested that he help get all class notes up to date; he even offered to teach me after school once we're able to work out a schedule.
After all classes end for the day, I walked with May and the rest of the guys to the car park; where I met Mason's younger sister Maggie.
Maggie is a very beautiful girl and unlike her brother, she is a very jovial and lively person. She is involved in lots of social activities in school and is also dating one the popular guys in school.
After May introduced us, she started conversing with me enthusiastically and even offered to take me around the school and the city of I wanted. At first I didn't know how to react to her because I've honestly never met someone like her before but her lively personality was so infective; I ended agreeing to take her up on her offer.
All in all I had a wonderful first day and I was still basking in its warmth when my Dad came to pick me up that day. He noticed my good mood and asked about it; and I was just so happy that I ended telling him all about my day before I remembered that I was still supposed to be angry with him.
He was happy for me and finally got me to admit that I have forgiven him. Then he told he has a suprise for me when we get home which got me even more excited.
When we got home I ran excitedly to mom to tell her how I my day went and she was also happy for me . Later we both went out to see my dad's suprise for me and it was a brand new car. It was red 2018 Lexus ES that I fell in love with at first sight. My Dad is not only good at picking gifts, he's got wonderful taste too.
After admiring the car for what seemed like ages and thanking my dad profusely; my dad suggested we had dinner out in a nice restaurant to celebrate my new car as well as my first day at school, which went well.
We had dinner at a nice italian restaurant before heading back home. My parents went to their room after saying their goodnights, while I went back to my to get ready for bed.
I was still riding the excitement of how unexpectedly good my day turned out that I couldn't fall asleep on time. So instead of sleeping, I picked up my phone to chat up my two new friends.
I couldn't reach May but I got Maggie. She was happy when I shared my news with her and told me she is looking forward to seeing my new car the following day. We chatted for a bit more before we said our good night; I was still smiling when I finally fell asleep.
The following day at school was both thrilling and uncomfortable; my new car steered up quite a lot of buzz. Despite the fact that majority of the students comes from a well to do family and own expensive cars of there own; I could still see the admiring look on their faces when I drove into school the following day.
And it almost felt as if my rank has somehow been raised because of the new car; and it was kinda scary but not enough to douse my happiness. I met up with the girls and they both excitedly followed me back to the student parking lot to check out my new car. We split afterwards to go to class which the agreement to meet back for lunch.
I met up with Mason and the others at class and we settled down for class after exchanging pleasantries. Unlike the previous day, Henry was thankfully absent and surprisingly nobody seemed to care; I guess it's not unusual for him to skip class.
At lunch, May and I joined Maggie, her boyfriend Jason and her two friends; Jenny and Alice at their table instead bof sitting with the guys.
Jenny and Alice both have lively vibes about them that made them easy to talk to. But for some reason I couldn't understand, I feel less at ease with Jason. Don't get me wrong.... He is good looking and charming in his own way but I feel as if he is hiding a different person beneath that fine boy persona he is wearing for everyone to see.
After school, we met up with the guys again and we all decided go out and celebrate my new car before heading back home.
Maggie, Alice and Jenny joined me in my car, May joined a very reluctant Mason in his car; while the rest of the guys drove in their respective cars. We went to a nice restaurant first, then we spent the rest of the day on the beach before returning back to our respective homes.
And once again it was an interesting day for me.
