The griffin's POV
My sleep was interrupted when someone was shaking me. I opened my eyes and saw a man's silhouette I couldn't see it clearly because the light was behind him and that I just woke up. When my vision was getting clear, I recognized that it was Vincent who was shaking me and that the sun had already risen.
"Wake up! We overslept and now the prince is coming to our house!" He exclaimed. I rose quickly in a panic I was about to stand up when I heard a voice from the outside. I looked at the window and gasped as I saw that it was Prince Caspian and his brother Clayton was coming here with a few men behind them. I also noticed that Gilbert was behind them. Luckily he already knows the telepathy spell so I used it to contact him.
"Gilbert! It's me!" I called on to him. It looked like it caught his attention and sat up straight.
"Ty? Where are you? Have you already left? We are Heading to my home right now." He replied.
"No, I haven't left yet. I'm still in Vincent's room. I can see from here. Listen I need your help. Do you know the Psychokinesis spell? Do you still remember how it works?" I asked.
"Yes, I still do. Why?"
"I want you to do something to slow them down while I escape," I ordered. He nodded and looked around. He saw a pile of hay on the side and waited for them to get a bit closer. Once they were in the right place, he knocked them down that alarmed the horses and men. Gilbert acted that he was surprised and asked the prince if he was okay. Some of the men got down on their horses to move the hay. Without a minute to lose, I rushed down from Vincent's room and changed into a griffin. I was about to head out when someone grabbed my tail. It was Vincent's mother, Mrs. Ward. I changed back and looked at her.
"What is it, Mrs. Ward? I need to hurry up while the prince is still far ahead." I exclaimed. She shook her head and took out her shawl and put it around me.
"If you go now as a griffin, you will catch attention not only to the princes but to the town and some of the farmers here as well. I know you can change into many animals so I'm asking you to change into a cow. Take my son with you. Pretend that you are walking to the farm, and once I manage to distract the prince, you head on to the barn and change into a bird to leave. Understood?" She ordered. I nodded as I looked at Vincent and nodded. We took out the plan and just as we were settled, the princes had already arrived at the door and knocked. Vincent and I went out on the back door and luckily there was no one there. I changed into a cow and Vincent tied a rope on my collar making it look like he was trying to move me. We walked to the front and saw that they were about to go inside when Prince Clayton saw us.
"Vincent!" He called out. He stopped and nervously looked at the prince.
"Prince Clayton! What brings you here?" He casually asked. He went closer to us tapped Vincent's shoulder.
"I just went with my brother when I heard that he was heading here. He said he wanted to check the griffin and wanted to take it with him to Preacurin once he visited." He explained. I laughed in my mind. He's just looking for a reason to get outside and used our kingdom. Luckily he only knows that we are a very secluded kingdom and nothing else. He didn't know the other thing.
"Oh, I see. I'll join you in a minute let me just take this cow to the barn." He explained.
"Oh let me join you. I haven't been here in a while." He volunteered. I panicked I kicked Vincent with my hips and mooed. He seemed to get it looked at Clayton.
"Oh, no need. I'll be quick. I just need to put her in the barn and I'll give you a tour of the barn. How about that?" He explained. He looks convince and said that he'll be heading back to his house and wait. As soon as he left, we rushed to the barn and closed the door behind us. He checked around if someone was there and when he confirmed it, I change back into myself and sat down for a moment.
"What are you doing? Change now and leave." Vincent ordered I looked at him and laughed.
"Hold one will you. I need to breathe damn it. I'm just overwhelmed with joy now that I know where long-lost brother is and that he is fine now." I explained. I didn't notice a tear rolled down in my eyes and he wiped it down. He sat down beside me placed his arm on my shoulders. He chuckled and smiled.
"I hate to break this moment but I think you need to Change now and leave. Your family might start looking for you if you stay too long here." I stood up and change into a robin. He placed his palm down and I hopped unto it. He opened the window and started flying back home.
Third Person's POV
"See you soon tiger," Vincent whispered as he watched the little robin bird flew away. He turned back head to his home where the visitors awaited his arrival. When the barn was empty, a woman stepped out on the pile of hay and dust off the hay that clung to her clothes.
"Wonder who she was? How was she able to learn magic? She doesn't seem like she's from her nor was she from a royal family. She doesn't like someone you could trust so easily since she knows magic so well. I better tell Clayton about this." She muttered to herself and ran outside to talk to the prince.
Vincent's POV
I walked back to the house expecting they would leave but I felt a shiver down my spine when I saw that their horses are still there. I went inside not to look suspicious. When they saw me came in, they all looked at me that made me feel a bit nervous.
"What? There's something on my face?" I asked casually. Not that I don't know but I sure hope that they don't think what I am thinking.
"Where's the griffin?" Prince Caspian asked. I looked at mom. I thought she manage to come up with something for the prince. She shook her head saying that the prince didn't buy it.
"Well? Where is it?" He repeated. I bit my lips and looked at him. Prince Caspian is known for being kind and jolly. The whole kingdom wishes for him to be their king one day. Not that they prefer over Clayton. They like Clayton too but Clayton also wants his brother to be the king. He's just going to be his right-hand man. And when this jolly prince gets serious, you might not wanna see it.
"Ahmm we helped it flew back this dawn. Sorry, you had to miss it." I casually replied. I don't want to lie to the future king but There is someone much more fearful than this prince. He sighed and looked around. He stood up and declared something.
"Before the sun sets down, I want you at my palace. If you fail to arrive there, then I'll take that as a serious offense for disobeying your future king." He declared in a serious tone. He bowed to my mother and left. I finally get to breath. I didn't even notice that I was holding my breath.
"Had she left already?" My mother asked. I couldn't utter a word so I just nodded. She patted my back and looked at the door where the prince had left.
