Caspian's POV
I sat down and looked at the picture on my table. One photo was a picture of my whole family and the other was a photo of a lake I once went on when I was young. It was the time I met the young lad who inspired me every day. It was the eldest child of the royal family of Preacurin, prince Sean Travis Frost. I was around 15 when I first met him and he was just a few years older than me. I admired him for his amazing hunting skills and great leadership as he leads a few of the men that followed him, at such a young aged. I chuckled as a memory came into my head.
* Flashback *
I went to the forest with my father as he told me to learn to hunt. He said I was old enough to learn a thing or two about hunting. I went back to the forest while my father was talking to a few of his friends. I remembered that there was a beautiful lake close by on our way to the hunting ground. As soon as I saw it, I was amazed to see its beauty. Mother nature does have a hidden beauty within. I went closer and saw clear water and a few fishes swimming by. I played with the fishes till I saw a boar drinking not far from me. I hid behind the biggest rock that was close to me hoping the boar didn't notice me. I grabbed onto the stick close by and sharpen it with a rock. Glad I learned something from my father before heading here. When the boar was still drinking water, I walked silently closer to the boar sneaking my way to attack it. Just as I was about to stab it, something came from the water and stabbed it. I was startled and I fell to the ground. I looked at the strange figure soaked in water as he removed the cloth that covered him. It was a boy older than me. He turned around and saw me. He went closer and lent his hand to me. A took it and stood up. I dust off the dirt on my clothes and he just stared at me.
"Prince Caspian Kline Dixon of Aimosan kingdom. The second child of King Christiano Trevis Dixon and Queen Karissa Lewis Dixon." He suddenly stated. I was scared that he might be an enemy. Knowing so much about me, who wouldn't be startled at that. I raised my stick and pointed at him. Just in time, I saw knights from a different kingdom rushing over to us. I don't know who they are but they might help. I was about to ask them for help when they called out to their young prince.
"Prince Sean! We're here now sire, do not fret." The commander stated. I thought they were referring to me but I was more surprised to see that they are pointing their swords at me. What? He's their prince? Moments after my father arrived with the knights behind them and also pointing their swords at each other. The who killed the boar raised his arm which put the knights behind him at ease and put their swords down.
"The weather is nice. Let's not ruin it by covering each other with blood. Though that would be a wonderful sight, I must refrain from causing inconvenience for now since my young siblings are with me and I need to be home now." The Boy stated. He looked at father and bowed.
"I am sorry for the inconvenience king Christiano and Prince Caspian. My men and I will leave now." He stated and turned to the dead boar and grabbed it by the ears and handed it over to his men. Just as they were about to leave, my father shot an arrow behind the soaked prince but he seemed to have a strong reflex and caught it before it even hit him. the men were startled raised their swords pointing at us. Some grabbed their bow and arrow pointing at us. We were on high alert as well.
"Who are you and how do you know who we are? What kingdom are you from lass? I don't seem to recognize your flag anywhere." My father stated. He turned around and I met his blue cold eyes.
"I'm afraid I might not be able to introduce myself properly for now, but time will come and we'll meet again. And I can assure you I am no enemy of yours, but I am not your friend. That is up to you on how you look at me. That is all and we shall leave now." He said and turned then throw the arrow in the side perfectly shooting a rabbit passing by. I know he clearly is not a good person but I don't know why my heart raced and something in me wants to follow him.
By the time we head home, my father warned me never to stay out of his sight when we are out and to stay away from kids like him. I pretended to listen and when I was old enough and well trained, I went back to the lake hoping he would be there. I arrived there and looked around. I waited and waited till the sun was about to set. I stood up and went back to my horse when I heard a rustling sound. I followed where t come from and saw two men looking at the dead boar. One of them looked like he was around my age. One was jumping around with joy while the other was just looking at the dead boar and on his other hand was a dead dear with an arrow pierced in its throat.
"Did you see that, Tyler? My first kill! Haha!" He exclaimed while jumping. The boy named Tyler kept the stoic face and congratulated him."
"Congrats, Spencer. I'm proud of you. Just like me, you also killed a boar on your first hunt." He said. I'm not sure if he really was happy or was he just sarcastic. The boy continued jumping and stopped when a voice was heard from a distance. He went closer to both of them and revealed his face. When I can clearly know who he was, I didn't realize I stood up and fell from the high ground. I groaned in pain and looked at them. I was startled and crawled back when I saw the two of them pointing their swords at me. I saw the man who just appeared and his chest was visible because of his shredded shirt. It was the boy from the lake before.
He looked at me and raised one of his brows then tap the shoulders of the two boys in front of him.
"Relax, I know who he is and he's a prince." He calmed them down and placed their sword back. I stood up and patted the dirt off my clothes. I looked up and gleamed when I saw him again.
"You! You're the boy from the lake a long time ago." I stated. He smiled and chuckled while shaking his head then looked at me.
"Yes, it was me. And by the way, my name is Sean, Sean Travis Frost. So don't call me 'you' or 'boy from the lake' ok?" He replied. I scratched my neck. I looked at the two boys who were with him. He noticed that I don't know who they were and introduced them.
"Ah, these are my brothers. Tyler Scott, who came after me, and Spencer Trey, who followed Spencer." He introduced them. I smiled at them and introduced myself.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Caspian Kline Dixon. Son of Christiano Trevis and Karissa Lewis of the kingdom of Aimosan." I bowed at them.
"We already know who you are. You're the second child and the first prince of Aimosan. You had two sisters and a brother. Your sister is Cora Kay Dixon and your younger brother is Clayton Kier Dixon. You also have another sister named Cass---" The boy named Spencer, who was talking non-stop, was cut off when Tyler covered his mouth.
"That's enough, Spencer. You're scaring him. I'm sorry about my brother, he's very chatty. But it's true that we already know you though. You and your family." Tyler said gently. He's just like his brother Sean but he's much more stoic than Sean. Sean smiles and talks a lot more than Tyler but less talkative than Spencer.
I laughed and just scratched my head. I found out that they were hunting and it was Spencer's first hunt. They just accompanied him. I smiled and joined them hunting. Luckily I brought my sword and some of my hunting equipment with me. When we got tired and the sun had set. We camped near the lake and exchanged a few conversations.
"By the way, I've been meaning to ask, how did you know me? Have we met before? Or did someone introduced us to you?" I curiously asked. I admit that I was a little bit scared when I knew that they know so much about me and my family, but something in me that says they are not that bad.
"Let's just say we're not your enemy but a friend for now. We'll tell you someday how we know you." Sean answered and continued to roast some fishes that we caught.
"The last time I saw you, I heard your knights calling you 'sire' like someone who is a highly respectful form of address for someone of high social status. Are you a prince? from what kingdom?" I asked again. Spencer stood up and walked to their bags and grabbed something. He took out a black silk cloth and walk back to his place. He handed over me the cloth and told me to open it. I unfolded the cloth and saw something drawn in the middle. There is two crossed scythe in the middle with flames behind it. and on the side was some splattered paint on it.
"Have you ever heard of Preacurin?" Spencer. I looked at him and shook my head.
"Good. It's better that you don't know. That's our kingdom. You might be curious what we are but it's best if you don't know for now. We aren't well known like Aimosan or any other kingdom because we are very secluded but our kingdom is real just as your kingdom." He answered again. I gave back their flag and he took it. Spencer spread it widely with his hands and asked Tyler to explain what their kingdom's flag means.
"The scythe is something I can't tell you yet but the flames behind it means warmth. The person who created our kingdom was just a commoner of the Nuvia Kingdom. He was cast out along with his family for selling weapons to the kingdom. The king thought that he sells them to help him assassinate the king. his family walked miles and miles looking for shelter till they found the place where our kingdom is located now. The very first thing he builds was fire and a small shelter for his family. They lived there for a few years then met some outcasts while living there. They lived together creating a small community of outcasts. One day, while he was hunting for food and word, he heard noises and music not far away. He happens to be near Nuvia without even noticing it. The kingdom was celebrating a coronation for the prince. His fellow neighbors when he used to live there were serving food and woman were treated as slaves dancing in the middle. He felt rage inside him and planned to attack their kingdom along with his new companions. They attacked at midnight and burned the whole place down. That was when Preacurin was created." He explained. He coughed once then continued.
"The splattered white paint you see is blood. Since red can't be seen in black, we use white paint." He finished. Spencer folded the flag and puts it back in their back. We had a few small conversations before deciding to sleep. The next day I woke up, they were all gone. They left a note on my bag saying that they didn't want to wake me up since I was sleeping peacefully and that they have to leave. They said that we will meet again soon and we'll meet at this place again. Moments after I heard horse steps and voices calling my name. It was our men looking for me and escorted me hime.
* End of flashback *
I always meet them and played with them until now but we only meet at the same lake and forest. I've never really been to their kingdom but I do want to go there. I just wish one day I get to visit them. Just once.
