Chapter 11: My World

I shivered a bit, as I felt a gust of wind fly in to the abandoned two leg nest for some reason. I blinked a few times at the same time as well too. Why was it so cold in the first place? I knew that we were near the cold season, but we were not quite there just yet.

I remember this time of the seasons from a long time ago, as it had all come back to me now. As well as the fact that Ben had also told me about all 4 of the seasons that we went through, through out the year in the first place. I had lived a year now, as it began to dawn on me.

Perhaps I was now old too? I looked at the old she cat that was laying down beside me with a bit of a grin on my face, as I realized that I was not old at all in fact. She, yes she, was a cat that was an old cat. I did not want to bring it up to her, as I was sure that she realized that as it was.

She had been so nice to me all this time, as she had been just the opposite of what Ben had told me she was going to treat me. I knew as to why if I thought more in to it. I could tell that the cat for some reason liked me a lot. Why would she want to pursue a young cat such as I was though.

She was a sweet cat and all, and she had taught me a lot just the day before, but she was not really a cat that I would want to call my mate. There was plenty of other, older cats out there, that might work out for her, but I was far too young for her. Besides, I was not even sure if I wanted a mate in the very first place any ways.

It felt like it was far too much stress, and far too much time as well. I let out a bit of a soft sigh at the same time as well, as I knew that Ben had told me that one day, the one that was for me would soon come. I was just not quite sure if that was really true or not how ever.

I shivered a bit, and I shook my head to shake off all of those thoughts at the exact same time as well. I could not be a mate to the old she cat any ways, as she did not want to leave her home at this old two leg place for some odd reason or another. That was where me and her differentiated for sure on that one, as I wholeheartedly just wanted to live out in the wild.

That had always been me dream, and I now was so close to it, I knew that I could not let any thing change my mind now. Besides, I had those strange dreams that felt like it was telling me that it was my destiny to do as such in the first place as well. It kind of all sounded a bit crazy to me too, as I had never been a cat to believe that cats had an after life, after they died.

It must be true though, if there were cats talking to me in my dreams, right? Ben had told me that his mothers parents had come to her in her dream, and she had saved the life of him and his kin mate. I closed my eyes as I let out another soft sigh at the same time too, as I shook off all of those thoughts from my head.

I knew that if I really wanted to think all about it, than it would have to be another day, as I had a goal to achieve today, and I knew that I could not let some thing as simple as that stop me from doing as such. I opened my eyes once again, as I then began to look around and the room I was in, in the first place.

I did not want to live here at all, as the place stunk very bad, and it was even worse when I thought about the amazing smell of the wild. I would get to smell all different sorts of smells were I went to as well, as the seasons changed, and there would be different smells no matter where it was that I went to.

I smiled, as I could not wait at the same time too. What was I talking about? I in fact did not have to wait at all, as I could just go right on ahead and get it started when ever I wanted. I had only stayed at this place for one last night at a safe home. There was no reason for me to be here any longer.

I was about to get down from the spot that I had been sleeping in, when it all of the sudden came back to me, as to the fact that I was with an older she cat at this very moment in time. I blinked just a few times, as I all of the sudden at the same time too, then turned my head over to her, not sure if I should wake her, as I was sure that she would be okay either way.

I was sure that she had lost a lot of people that she had fallen in love with, if I had to guess in the long life that she had lived up to this point. It still kind of amazed me as to the fact that she was so fast an nimble, and that it was so easy for her to catch prey such as I had seen her show me how to do last night, and the squirrel that she had caught for us as well.

I blinked a few times, as I looked at the old she cat, as I saw that she was wide awake to my surprise. She was staring right at me as well, with quite a sad, and a hurt look on her face. It was clear that she had some how managed to fall in love with me, a young cat that was no where near as mature as her, in just one day.

As she noticed me look at her how ever, I saw that she did her best to hide that look from her face at the exact same time too, as she straightened her self up as well, and she then nodded to me. I could tell that she was by no means at all, okay, but I felt like I should not worry for her all too much, as I then nodded back to her.

I knew that if I felt bad for the old she cat, than it might some how stop me from doing the goal that I had been trying to get at all my life. I was not in love with her, such as she was for me, by any stretch of the imagination, and if I was in fact to stay back to live with her, than it would only be because I could tell that she was sad and lonely.

I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self, as I continued to stare the old she cat in to her eyes, to let her know that she had my full attention on her, as she too let out a much louder sigh than I just had, as she began to speak to me at the exact sane time as well, as I then listened as to what it was that she had to say to me in the first place.

"Go ahead Kettle... I know it has been your destiny your whole life... Do not worry for me, I will be okay..." She said to me. I looked at her, as I was a bit surprised by what it was that she had said to me. It was as if she was admitting to the fact that she had in fact fallen in love with me in just one day some how.

It surprised me so much, due to the fact that it had seemed like she had been trying to hide it from me, and her self, whilst we had been heading back from her old two leg place last night. Perhaps that might be, because she knew as to where it was that I was going to go, and what it was that I was trying to do with my life in the first place.

I shook my head, as I did my best to shake off all of those thoughts once again, as I knew that they were trying to persuade me to go down the wrong path in my life. I let out a bit of a soft sigh once again, at the exact same time as well, as I then turned my head over to the hall way that led to the wild.

I shivered quite a bit, as I was still not sure if this was a good idea. I had heard so many horror stories as to what it was like out there, at night mainly, but it still was dangerous out there during the day as well. I did my best to try to shake off all of those thoughts at the same time too how ever, as I knew that I was stronger than that, and I was not going to let that stop me.

I was sure that the stories had been a bit over exaggerating as well, as when I had gone out there with Night, just the day before, it really had not seemed to be all that bad, nor all that scary at all. The things that I had thought were scaring me, I had come to find out, were not all that scary things at all as well.

I nodded to my self, as I stared down the hall way for a little bit longer. Down there, that was going to be my new life! I was excited, and I knew it! So why was I so sad then? Well... I guess if I thought on it for a little bit longer, I knew the answer to that question that was coming up in to my head.

I was sad, because I was thinking of my friend Ben, for one thing. I wish that he had agreed to go and live out there with me, but I knew that I should not be too hurt by that, at the exact same time as well, as I knew that he was a kitty pet, and be always would be. He had told me that he had been out there before as well, but he just did not find it in his interest to live out there.

Then there was the fact that I was going to be leaving my two leg nest, which if I thought on that for a little bit longer, I also knew that it should not hurt me all that much, as I knew that the younger two leg did not have the same feelings for me, that she had when I was a lot younger, and when I was still considered to be a kitten.

Now I was older, and I was fairly certain that I was done growing at this point. She did not care for me at all any more, so I knew that I should not think too deep on that one either, as I stared ahead of me for just a little bit longer, and I then nodded to my self at the exact same time as well.

This was what I wanted to do, and I knew that I should not let any thing stop me from doing as such. I grinned just a little bit, as I nodded to my self at the same time as well, as I felt like, that now, I was finally ready to head off, and do as such, just as I had been telling my self to do my entire life.

I looked back over at Night, as I still saw a sad look on her face, it kind of dipped my head down a bit, as I did in fact feel bad for the old she cat, but I also knew that I should not let that stop me from my plans, and what it was that I had always wanted to do in the very first place at the exact same time too.

I looked at the ground for a little bit longer, as I was in fact grateful for the she cat, and all that she had helped me with, at the exact same time as well. I knew that I needed to let that be known at the same time too, as I lifted my head back up, and I nodded to her, letting her know that I was about to speak to her. She nodded back to me, as I then felt safe to go ahead and speak up to her, which I did in fact begin to do so in the first place.

"Thank you for all that you taught me Night... I will be for ever grateful for it, and what they told me about you, was wrong... I see that you are a good, and a sweet cat..." I said back to her, as I stared at her for a little bit longer at the exact same time as well, to make sure that she had heard what it was that I had just said to her.

I really was grateful for the she cat, as at first, I had thought that I was not going to like her at all, and she was going to be giving me a whole lot of constructive criticism as well, which she did do in fact, as I was not a big fan of all of that, but there still was no denying that she had helped me a ton, on what it was that I had always wanted to do with my life in the first place.

The she cat had her head dipped low to the ground for quite a bit of some time, as there was no denying at this point, that the old she cat was in love with me for some odd reason or another. It was a bit strange to me, as for one, I felt like I would never be a cat that one could fall in love with, but for another as well, I had felt like I could never fall in love with another cat.

I was not in love with her by any means at all, but she was a kind hearted cat, and if she really was living there to give kitty pets a new home, as well as teach cats how to hunt, and live out in the wild, than she really was a good cat, as there was no denying that at all to me at this point, as I still could not help but feel bad for her.

I wished her all of the luck, and I hoped that she could find the one for her self out there some where, but I was not the one for her, as much as she might think that I was. I had to go live out a life some where, and I knew that what she had said a few moments ago, about it being my destiny, was in fact true.

I smiled a little bit to my self, as at the same time as well, I hoped that she had not seen the smile, as I did not want to give her the wrong impression at all. As I looked at her how ever, I was not sure if she had just not seen the smile at all, or if she really did not think too deep in to it, which either way, I was glad for it, as I let out a bit of a soft sigh of relief at the same time too.

This really was a good cat, and I did not want to hurt her at all. I dipped my head a little bit low to the ground, such as she had just done a few moments ago, as I was not so sure as to what else it was that I should do. I knew that I should go ahead and get the day started, but I also did not want to just leave with out giving her a proper good bye as well.

As soon as it seemed that I had lifted my head to the ground at the same time too, I saw Night lift her head up slowly, as I could tell that she still was a little bit hurt by all of it, but it was clear that she had more than likely gone through a lot worse in her life, as she then nodded to me, as I realized that she was about to speak to me.

I lifted my head up to her, as I then blinked a few times, at the exact same time as well. I was not going to lie, I was in fact interested in what it was that she was going to say to me, as I felt like it was going to be some words of wisdom. I then nodded to her, to get this over with, as she finally then began to speak up to me at the exact same time as well. I saw a tear drop from her eyes as she was speaking to me, as I then listened as to what it was that she had to say to me at the same time too.

"Be safe out there Kettle... You are a good cat too... I hope the world treats you right, and I wish you the best of luck on your journeys." She said to me, as I was a bit surprised as to what she had said to me at first, as I was sure that there was going to be a lot more emotion in her voice that just that.

I suppose, that most of the emotion, was on her face for one thing, as well as the fact, that I had heard some emotion in her voice, as she had stumbled on her words quite a bit as she was speaking, as it seemed like her head was telling her the smart thing, which was the fact that we really could not be together, but her heart was telling her a whole nother thing, other than that.

I sighed a little bit, as I then turned my head back over to the hall way that was not too far ahead of me at this point, as I squinted my eyes, as I stared down it for quite a bit of some time. That was the path that led to a whole new world for me. It might be a scary one indeed, but it was the one that was for me.

I smiled a bit of a sad smile at the same time as well, as I was not sure as to what was going on with me. I suppose I knew as to what it was, as I knew that I was leaving my entire life behind me, in to a vast world where I was not bringing a single thing with me. That was kind of scary to think of for sure.

I gulped just a little bit, as I knew that I needed to go ahead and get started at the same time as well, as I then turned my head back to Night. I could see a bit of pain in her eyes, which I knew that I needed to shake those thoughts off, as I knew that I could not let that stop me at all either.

I then nodded to her, to let her know that I was going to speak to her. The last thing that I might ever say to her at the same time too. I shook off those sorts of thoughts how ever, as I then saw her all of the sudden, nod right back to me. That was when I knew that it was my tine too speak, as I did in fact begin to do as such.

"I can not thank you any more for what you did for me... I wish you the best of luck here..." I said to her at first, as I then looked at the hall way that was a fair bit ahead of me at the exact same time too. I let out quite the loud sigh as I stared down it for quite a bit of some time. Why was a staring down it though, when I was about to walk down it? I shook my head, as I jumped down from the spot that I had slept at, just the night before, as I began to start to walk to the hall way at first, where I could see a fair amount of light emerging from. I then remembered at the same time too, that Night was right behind me, and I knew that I could not just go out like that. I turned my head back to her, as I then said one last thing to her, before I went on my way. "Goodbye Night..."

She stared at me for just a few moments longer, as I saw another tear drop from her eyes, which I saw that she tried to hide from me at the same time too, as she looked away from just a split second, as I knew that she was wiping off the tear that had gone down her face, and she knew that I had seen it at the same time too.

I heard her let out quite the loud sigh, as she then turned her head back over to me, as she then nodded to me. I nodded back to her, waiting for her to speak to me, and say her last words to me, but as I saw the bit of a blank look on her face, as it was clear that she was trying to hide her emotions, I then realized that she was not going to speak.

I shook my head, as I saw her close her eyes at the same time as well, as it seemed like the had fallen back to sleep at this point. I knew that I should not be all too worried about it, as I then began to head down the same hall way that I had gone down the day before. I had seen a beautiful world out there, and I knew I was about to say that same world once again.

I cracked a bit of a smile as those thoughts went through my head, as I then continued to go down the hall way, a bit faster than I had been walking just a few moments ago, as I saw the light flashing in front of my eyes at the same time as well, as I got to the door way. I blinked a few times to get my eyes used to the light at the same time too.

Once my eyes got in tune with the light, and I was actually out side of the old two leg nest, I then saw the trees, and the sun rising above them at the same time as well. I could not help but keep that smile as I stared at it. It was the most beautiful thing that I had ever seen in my entire life, and it was all mine now.

I stared at it for a few more seconds, as I let it all sink in at the same time as well. As I looked at it for not too much longer, I then dipped my head a little bit low to the ground, as I then began to walk in to those woods, just like I had done the day before, as I then spoke to my self at the same time too.

"This is my world..."
