CHAPTER SIX

CHAPTER SIX

This is horrible, terrible, the worst ever, I couldn't sleep a wink last night, I told myself over and over again to stop thinking about Victor and just get some sleep but no, my mind just won't agree. I can't help but think about our meeting today, what to wear, where to go, in fact, I was practicing what to say. I'm even more pathetic than I thought, how can I let a guy take over my mind so much, even when I try to sleep I keep having different dreams about him. It's like I'm seeing things from his point of view, crazy right? I know. One of my dreams was about me being chased by a pack of wolves, it feels like they were trying to kill me, I don't know how, but somehow, it not my body that's being chased but the wolf that saved me the last time and it feels like Victor, it's like I got possessed by him and seeing thing in his view.

Its morning already but I still can't shake that feeling off, I don't know if I'm going crazy or if I'm being enchanted. Ha! As if. I stood up from my bed and started getting ready, I text Victor a place and a time to meet and he agreed. We'll be meeting in two hours and I still can't find a suitable cloth to wear, Tobi slept over at her boyfriend's place last night and I'm not sure when she'll be back so I called Esther and Bimpe over to help with what to wear. It didn't take long for me to wish I hadn't call Esther, she has been teasing me since she got here, it's been more than thirty minutes and she still hasn't find something good for me. I should have just put on a jean trouser, didn't Victor said he likes it.

The first thing Esther commented about was the way I looked, she said I looked like a zombie on a date. I can't deny that, I feel horrible but it's not the reason she's thinking. I can't even tell her about my dreams, it doesn't even make sense to me, so how can it does to them? After about one hour, she finally found something good enough and she got me ready. I had to give a thousand reasons for her not to do a heavy makeup for me, and thankfully, what I end up wearing is a jeans trouser, it was the top that gave us more trouble. At the end, it was thanks to Bimpe that we were able to finalize on a yellow off shoulder top.

Getting to the small lecture theatre that I chose, I met Victor already working on the something, I checked my time and I'm five minutes late. I definitely shouldn't have called them over, like me, he is putting on a blue jeans trouser too but his has cuts on the knees and thigh, how he was able to enter the school like that baffles me cuz this kind of wears are not allowed in the school perimeter.

"I'm so sorry I'm late" I apologized quickly as I set my books down beside his.

"You seem to say sorry a lot" he commented with a straight face. His he mad at me? He always smiles or put on a cocky smile whenever he's with me so I've never seen this side of him.

"Oh.. I'm so….. I mean…. Never mind" I said with a sigh

"Geez, I'm just teasing you, you don't have to look like I scold you or something"

"Right… Morning to you anyway"

"Morning to you too, you don't look like you had a clean sleep"

"You have no idea"

"Late study? But if I remember correctly, you said you were going to bed last night during our chat"

"Yea I was, just had a bad dream is all"

"You wanna talk about it?"

"What?" I didn't even know when I started laughing, the last person to talk about my dreams with is him.

"Something funny?"

"No, not really, I just don't think it's the kind of dream you'll be interested in"

"Try me"

"Trust me, you don't want to know"

"Okay then, I'll take your word for it"

"Yea... So, have you come up with something?"

"Honestly, I didn't have the time to talk about it, how about you?"

"Same here, but I'm sure we'll get something"

"Of course, you are the best in writing afterall"

"Ha! Look who's speaking, the best artist in the world"

"Right, your crush right?"

Goodness, why did he have to bring that up now, im trying to get over it.

"Uhm, can we proceed?" He laughed at my lame attempt to change the topic

"Sure, we'll talk about that later then"

"Asshole" I mutter a curse under my breadth but it must have been louder than I thought cuz he laughed more.

We spent the next two hours discussing everything we can about the society, Victor has only been in Nigeria for three years and his perspective of the society is actually funny and kind of sad sometimes.

After we were done, I decided to ask him a question that has been pricking my mind since I enter.

"You know, I didn't think you have this kind of blue wear"

"What kind of blue?" he asked teasingly. So you want to play the game hun? Well, two can play, let's see who wins

"You know, bright blue. All you've ever wear are dark colours, even your shirts"

"I'm glad you noticed me enough to know what kind of clothes I wear"

"It was just a coincidence, I notice those kind of things in people" I lied. He doesn't have to know I picked him out.

"I see, so, you usually knows what everyone wears and what they do not"

"Okay, okay, fine you win" he chuckled at my blushing face

"You are right, I don't wear bright colours, but somehow, I knew you'll be wearing one so I picked it.

"What? Ha, you want me to believe you picked the colour because you guessed I'll be wearing it"

"Yep"

"Okay, I totally believe you" I said with sarcasm

"It's the truth though"

"Alright then, does that mean, you'll be wearing bright colours now?"

"Na, I don't think so, it doesn't suit me at all"

"I think it does, it brings out your color well enough. But I think the dark ones suit you more, it brings out the look"
