THE BLUE BOOK

Mary was about to go to the library when she met Bishop William on the way with such a joyful expression on his face. He was even whistling.

"Good day, Bishop William." Mary greeted him as they bumped into each other.

"Oh my~ If it isn't our blessed child."

Somehow, Mary can sense some sarcasm in his tone.

'Is it just me? Or did he just…'

Mary was a child that was good at reading between the lines. Her work at the inn and growing up beside all the adults made her consciously read their expressions.

So, she instinctively knew that there was something behind those smiles. She didn't grow up tiptoeing around people and acting the way she was expected to be just to let what Bishop William said, pass.

Mary smiled at Bishop William as if she didn't realize what he did.

"Did something good happen? It seems that you're in a good mood, Bishop William."

"Oh, ~ does it show on my face?"
