Maximus held his breath and looked at the green-skinned humanoid monster in front of him while hiding behind a rock. The monster looked incredibly ugly, it pointed ears and sharp teeth and was holding a dagger made from Bone in its hand.
'Goblin'
The words floated above its head in white.
Just when the Goblin passed by the Rock, Maximus held the blade in both his hands and swung it down with full force,
Swish!
"Grr..?"
The goblin's hand was cut off clean and it staggered back while screaming in pain. Maximus forced himself to not concentrate on the blood and just when he was about to attack again.
The Goblin started screaming at the top of its voice,
"Shit!"
Maximus realized that the bastard was calling for help. He did not waste any time and leaped forward reaching the goblin in an Instant and struck his blade straight into its heart.
Stab!
Maximus looked at the goblin and could not help but frown, he pulled the blade out and watched the goblin fall on the ground.

'It stinks...'
He looked at his hands which were trembling and clenched the handle of the Blade. He could feel numerous creatures approaching with his Sense. He was going to be surrounded.
Maximus closed his eyes and thought about what went wrong,
'I should have cut off its head in the first strike'
He opened his eye and looked at the Goblins that surrounded him,
'..around 10 and more are coming'
He looked for any openings and noticed a small group of three goblins each holding a sword, he quickly decided and leaped forward, and swung his sword straight at the goblin's head,
Swish!
The Goblin seems surprised by its prey retaliating, he quickly bought his sword and blocked the Blade.
Clang!
Maximus pushed the sword down with all his strength, managing to get it out of the way, he then sashed at its neck
Splash!
Blood splashed on his face causing him to frown but he had no time to think as the other two goblins had reacted by now. Both of them came at the same time making it difficult for a normal person to dodge. But, with 21 points in Agility, their movements looked pretty slow to him.
He evaded the sword from one goblin and slashed at the other's chest. More Blood was spilled but he did not care by now. He found his opening and made a run for the forest.
Everything happened so fast that the other goblins had no time to react. Just like that 2 goblins were slain by their prey.
They screamed and chased after their prey but it had long disappeared.

"pant..pant..pant.."
Maximus leaned on a tree and took deep breaths, he looked at his blood-covered hands, and sighed,

'Guess one of them survived..'

"Huh?"
He suddenly felt a blue light envelop him and all his fatigue was washed away.

He quickly looked at his status.

He had thought that there was no way to level up but to think that he could level up by killing Monsters.

'It would have been better if all 6 were for me to distribute but.. can't be too greedy I guess.'
He thought for a bit and added the stat point to Agility.

Now that he was not tired he hid among the trees and used his sense to find a goblin that was alone. He planned to slowly dwindle their numbers.

Maximus shook the blood off his blade and started to search the goblin's body, after doing it so many times he had gotten proficient slashing the neck and finishing the goblin in one move. He also noticed that the goblins had a shiny Crystal in them called a Goblin Core

Maximus evaded the Spear coming at him from the side and parried the sword from the front, his movements were smooth and without any signs of panic,

The blade went straight through the heart of the sword-wielding goblin, he pulled the Blade out and looked at the last Goblin standing.
"You sure are a lucky one aren't you?"
He slowly walked towards the goblin, the goblin started trembling and tried to run away, but suddenly the goblin felt the world spinning, and before his vision blacked out he managed to see his own headless body and a black-haired youth looking at him with emotionless eyes.

Maximus sheathed his blade and collected all the Monster cores putting them in his Inventory.

Another reason he wanted to kill goblins instead of searching for the Goblin general was that the Mission did not disappear even after he completed it. From his experience with the system, there must be something going on with this, but he had shallow knowledge of games so he couldn't connect the dots.
'But all the goblins in the area are wiped out.'
He used his Sense and confirmed that he had wiped out all the goblins and headed deeper into the forest.

Maximus's eyes went wide, he could not believe there was something like this. Suddenly his senses picked but 5 enormous presences coming towards him.
Boom! Boom!..
Maximus turned towards the 5 figures and licked his lips. His Senses were telling him it was gonna be a tough fight.
'Thankfully, I just leveled up, so my fatigue is zero'
His eyes emitted powerful fighting intent.
"Come!"

BOOM!
Maximus narrowly evaded the Axe, he leaped forward and slashed at the 2-meter tall Goblin Lord.
"Roar!"
Suddenly, an arrow came towards him which he evaded but it still managed to graze his cheeks.
"Tsk!"
Just as he was about to attack again a Bone Spear came from the side forcing him to halt his assault. When he avoided the Spear a Fireball came from behind him and hit him directly on the back.
Boom!
"Ahh!"
Maximus spat out some blood and glared at the Female figure hiding behind the Goblin Lord.
After the Goblins arrived they quickly surrounded him, with the Goldin Lord wielding an Axe in the front, a Female Mage General hiding behind the Goblin Lord, the Goblin General's wielding a Sword and a Spear on the side, and a sneaky Goblin General with bow hiding among the trees. All his escape routes were cut off and his situation turned dire.
After taking a hit he did not stop and continued trying to take one of the Generals down but they covered each other and it was difficult to kill them with one slash.

Maximus looked at the Goblin Lord with a playful smile.

The Goblin's eyes went red from seeing the headless figure next to Maximus and he roared in fury
"ROAR!!!"
Maximus laughed and disappeared from the place and ignored the Goblin Lord reappearing in front of the Spear General and slashed at his neck!

"Ack!"
The Spear General's eyes went wide he held his bleeding neck and collapsed on the ground.
Maximus did not stop and in one smooth motion, he leaped towards the Sword General and plunged his blade into his heart.
Stab!
The Sword had an indignant expression as the light in his eyes faded away.
Suddenly. an arrow came flying straight at the back of his head. But, Maximus did not panic and as if he had eyes on the back of his head he moved his head away at the last moment. Maximus turned around looked at the Bow General Standing behind the Goblin Lord
"You finally decided to come out huh?"
"Grr.."
Maximus did not give the Bow General a second glance and focused on the Goblin Lord. The Goblin Lord had his back facing Maximus and was staring at the dead body of the Female General in a daze. Just as Maximus was about to attack he stopped and retreated quickly and looked at the Goblin Lord with a serious expression.
He could sense a terrifying power growing inside the Goblin Lord which made him have a bad feeling.
Suddenly, the Bow General flinched. Maximus observed that the General seemed scared about something.
Slash!
Boom!
There was a huge explosion causing Maximus to frown, the ground crack under his feet and he could no longer sense the Bow General.
When the dust cleared, Maximus's eyes widened. The Bow General was cut into two from head to toe. Maximus quickly realized something and looked at the Goblin Lord. The Goblin Lord was much Bigger than before, standing at 3 meters tall with bulging muscles. His entire body was covered in a Red Aura.
Maximus narrowed his eyes, he then tightened the hold on his blade,
'Ahh... this is gonna be tough.'
