Mission hall

Ryu and Nura arrived at sect ground and went direct to eat something, none of them knew how to cook so last night they have just improvised eating ration and the taste was horrible, to say the least. They meet Luise eating and, despite Nura's protest, they went to join her to have a conversation.

They greeted the woman sitting in front of her, Ryu didn't miss the stare that Nura and Luise gave each other, if one of them could use a ray of death with the eyes the other would be dead for sure. But still, they refrained to mock the other, they have some enmity but they are sect mates and they respect this bond.

After trading their stories Ryu learned that Luise had been doing quests about collecting herbs for the sect, after hearing how she had acquired a large number of herbs and is on the verge of leveling, he decided to do the same quest to get some levels until he became a little bit stronger to face the beasts again.

Luise was frightened when she heard the deathmatch with the dog, but she was much more interested when Nura talked about some encounter with an apparently rare beast he has found in the forest. The woman totally forgot about their bad bond to ask him about the beasts, 'She is realy a maniac when it is about rare beasts.' Ryu thought taking the opportunity to leave when her attention was on Nura, leaving Nura to deal with Luise's endless questionary.

Nura looked at Ryu with pleading eyes asking for help to leave, but Ryu decided that sacrificing only one is a better course of action them sacrificing both, thus he sneaked out of the ranch making his escape.

Ryu went to his house to have some rest, which he only left in the evening with luggage to spend the few days out, he made a resolution to only back when he levels up.

He went to the Mission Hall to take a quest according to Luise's instructions, Ryu saw one of the few stone buildings that the sect had. This building is as not monotonous as the one on top of the mountain where they awakened their system, this one has decorated windows covering all of the front extension. He entered pushing the heavy stone-made door.

One step inside and the temperature of the environment rose to a pleasant degree, something sustained by a formation on the ground, a huge contrast with the cold outside. There is a large red carpet near the large fine stone door and a gray balcony in the reception, at the side a corridor leading to many doors.

An abundant presence of people walking in this building made the place quite lively. Ryu remained in the center of the room looking at a beautiful painting hanging on one wall. A portrait of a man fighting a beast on top of a mountain, a painting handcrafted by a master with astonishing talent, Ryu felt his conscious being sucked inside it when he stared at the painting for too long.

He could feel the presence of the man majestically holding his position like he was the mountain itself, the sword in his hand giving a sensation that it could split the sky in half. In the other half of the paint, a flying beast assaulting the man emanating a vicious aura made Ryu think he was in the presence of a real demon, not just inside a painting. Despite the quality of the paint, man and beast have just their silhouette displayed, so Ryu is not able to identify neither man and beast.

"It's an impressive paint, isn't it?" a man behind a balcony said dragging Ryu's attention back to the present. It is not the first time he saw that reaction, every new disciple that comes to this place has the same reaction.

"You should be a rookie right? do you need something? I am Cao Ling by the way." the man packed another set of commentaries without waiting for an answer. A strategy he developed a long time ago, he learned by experience that if he left the disciple take the lead and ask about the paint he would have to answer a bunch of questions, which, to be honest, doesn't have the answers.

"Hi, I am Ryu Sei. A friend told me about some quests, collecting herbs to be precise, set by sect or something like that and I want to try it too."

"Okay, let me introduce you to how the quests work before you pick one.

You will be lead to sit in a room with a formation on the ground, if you open the quest tab there it will ask if you accept to connect, which you should agree.

Then a new screen will appear displaying quests provided by the sect. There are many types of quests you but should choose one that is tagged as F grade, you can pick one of higher grade if you want to, but I don't recommend you to do this, many disciples die trying to pick a quest they don't have the power to face. Arrogance is a road with just one destiny.

When you pick one quest it will display how many times you can make it, but for the F tagged quests you can make them as many times as it please you."

"Why is that?" Ryu Sei asked getting confused with the explanation.

"The quests are provided with the interest of the sect in mind, most of the herbs and beast parts you collect will be used in alchemy and they use a lot of low-level herbs that is why it has no limit. But a high-tier herb is just rarely used and the sect will ask for just a few of it.

It may look confusing if I explain, but you will get the hang of it when using."

The man finished the explanation and guided Ryu to one corridor passing by many doors until he reached the end of the corridor before a large two-side door.

Ryu entered the room, it was much larger than he was expecting, he saw a huge white formation on the ground and two rows of cushion encircling it, a few of which were occupied. He picked one of the seats and opened the system as Cao Ling instructed.
