Forced Down

When Ryu and Nura stood up to follow Gu Huan, they were so nervous that they could feel their hearts carved in their throats. Whatever would happen in the next few moments could determine their futures.

Step by step, they followed Gu Huan by the large corridors passing by rich paintings and decorations, until a large two side wooden door. Gu Huan stopped before the large door, opened it, and stepped aside.

"I stop here. You may continue." Gu Huan spoke.

Before stepping in, Ryu expelled the air in his lungs by his mouth, trying to calm down, and he gave a step forward, doing his best to maintain composure.

Inside the room, a large hall showed before Ryu's eyes, revealing what was apparently a meeting room, with three rows of chairs disposed of in two columns facing one large armchair resembling a throne. Aside from the chairs, the only decoration in this room is a large window with an unobstructed view of the mountain where the sect operates and a gigantic fabric banner behind the throne.

The emblem on the banner was unknown for Ryu, a straight vertical line with a ball on the lower end, a horizontal line crossing the vertical line at the middle, and on the upper third part of the vertical line, a semi-circle pointing up.

Although the emblem is unknown, the man sitting on the throne was not, albeit Ryu doesn't know him very well. Enlil occupied the throne in front of the banner, wearing his usual brown robes decorated with golden threads, on his face, no emotion visible, adding to the oppressive atmosphere of the situation.

Ryu looked to the side seeking if Nura was with him, and after confirming his presence, they walked to the front of the throne.

"Junior disciple greets Sect Master Enlil." Ryu and Nura said in unison, bowing their heads deeply.

However, before they could raise their heads back, the hall started to tremble, and a second later, overwhelming oppression assaulted both disciples. Under the pressure of Enlil's power, Ryu and Nura found it difficult to stand, so they dropped to their knees.

When their knees touched the ground, the oppressive power vanished. And they understood that Enlil wanted them kneeling, but since he didn't mention if they should stand, they remained in that position.

"Do you know why you are here?" Enlil asked, and from the tone, he used to speak, Ryu understood that his mood wasn't the best condition.

"Because we fought three senior disciples in the forest around two weeks ago." Nura spoke fast, not giving a chance to Ryu say something.

"Shouldn't you say killed?" Enlil asked.

"We certainly caused some damage, but I don't if they died." Nura lied.

"Hmm, and how did it happen?" Enlil asked.

"When I was returning from a quest with a friend Cahya when we met those three, drunk as a skunk, they came after us and grabbed Cahya to rape her." Ryu started explaining.

"Fortunately, I was also in the region and heard her cries. When I reached the place, two of the guys came for me with their swords on hand, threatening to kill me on the spot." Nura continued.

"I used that moment of distraction to take my sword and made a large cut on the shoulder of the third guy holding Cahya." Ryu said.

"When the two turned to face Ryu, I picked my spear and made a cut on the legs of the two guys closer to me. It was a luck movement because they were so drunk that they couldn't act in coordination." Nura explained.

"Yes, the moment they fell on the ground in pain, I grabbed Cahya, and us three fleed to the mountain." Ryu finished, gaining confidence that they could get out of this situation.

When they finished the story, Enlil nodded as if in agreement with the story, then covered his mouth with his hand and, after some deliberation, asked.

"And how did they died?" Enlil asked.

A moment of awkwardness covered the hall with Enlil's question. Ryu and Nura started to sweat with their heads spinning, thinking the best answer possible.

"I don't know exactly how, but when we were fleeing, there were noises of wolves following behind us. Until at some moment, the noise stopped, and the wolves stopped chasing us. Maybe the pack got them." Ryu finished, placing a cherry on the top of his cake of lies.

"In fact, the elders found a pack of wolves with some cuts, their leader was just a rank 1 beast, so they dismissed them as the killers, but if the three were injured and drunk as you reported, it is possible." Enlil said, skimming through the papers on his side.

"That explains everything, you see. Can We go now?" Nura said with a smile on his face.

"It's good that we solved this problem." Ryu said, also smiling.

"Yes, everything is clear now. I'm glad we solved this. You can go now." Enlil spoke, also smiling.

With the situation cleared, Nura and Ryu raised, preparing to leave, all the worries in their hearts washed. However, at the moment they are about to turn, Enlil spoke one more time.

"Do you think I am stupid?" Enlil yelled, his voice thundering on the hall with such force that the window on the side broke into countless pieces.

Also, at the same time, Enlil raised his hand above his head and downed it in a fist, hammering the side armrest of his throne. The power was intense to the point of breaking his throne, and cracks appear on the ground.

Unnecessary to say that Enlil released his aura, forcing Ryu and Nura to the ground. But this time, the oppression wasn't weak as before, as this time, they fell to the ground vomiting blood.

Almost passing out, feeling their heads about to be crushed, Ryu looked up and saw Enlil slowly standing from his cracked throne and walking until he was one foot from him and Nura.

"Lying on my face like this. That kind of disrespect to your sect master is simply intolerable. I brought you both here to promote you to inner disciples, and I was giving you the chance to make things clear." Enlil spoke harshly.

"Do you really think that the sect will punish you for killing three scumbags like those? Of course not." Enlil continued.

"But... why them?" Nura struggle to speak.

"Because I wanted you, to tell me how two newly admitted disciples fought and defeated three of their seniors." Enlil spoke.

"And before you lie to me again, and trigger my anger even more. Let me tell you that I knew that despite the short amount of time you have been cultivating, one of you is on level 22, and the other has 11 skills, two of them being immortal-grade ones." Enlil said.

And when he finished speaking, both Nura and Ryu widen their eyes in surprise, somehow, sect master knew everything about them.
