A Chance

"What," I grunted in pain while being incredibly shocked by her sudden question.

"You heard me human, what is your connection to The Entity," the queen said with a stern voice.

"I don't have a connection to that bastard," I turned away from her gaze, trying to avoid her eyes at all costs.

She slowly moved in front of me till her face was right next to mine. I try scooting back but I am blocked by the wall of water behind me. I am forced to confront her. I slowly turn my head back to face hers.

"I'll ask once again, what is your connection to The Entity."

"Nothi-" Suddenly a notification popped up.

After the notification seemed to glitched all over the place it suddenly disappeared. At first I didn't know if this was another instance of The Entity messing with me or what, but this dome-like space emanated a soothing feeling. I couldn't believe it, but for a second, I felt free from The Entity's captivity and torment. I looked around the room to see the runes flowing through the water light up briefly.

I looked at the queen in amazement and she smiled down at me with a confident smirk.

I take a deep breath calming myself down. The queen obviously knows who The Entity is, there may be a possibility she can help me deal with him, or at least help me get rid of these quests. I suddenly remember the punishment for the previous quest. "Your blood boils," what could that mean?

"Like I said before, I have no connection to that bastard, but what I do know is that he cursed me," I say in such a way that signifies I'm looking for sympathy and also hoping she buys my semi-truth of a story.

"And what is this curse he has put upon you dear human," she asks as she flutters her feathers in curiosity.

"Randomly he gives me a quest, for each quest there is a punishment and a reward. If I killed Pulli I would be able to return to my home, but if I didn't I would receive a punishment of which I didn't know."

"Human, do you know who the Entity really is?" She asked me with a concerned look on her face.

I struggled to nod as I looked at her in confusion, what else could The Entity be?

As she looked at me struggling to keep my composure, she came to a swift decision.

"Human, what is your name"? "Oliver," "Oliver, you are special, it is clear that I must do something, but for now you are beyond weak. I will take you back to the kingdom and have my servants tend to your needs and heal you. We will talk more than.

"PRESSIM," her voice echoed through the waters again as the water dome around us evaporated back into the clouds. Soon after the clouds dissipated.

"Venus," the queen called out swiftly, in that instant a maid with lavender purple wings with beautiful black silky hair teleported behind the queen.

"Take Oliver back to our palace and treat him for his wounds and whatever else he needs, he is a special guest." She commanded her maid as she looked at me with sympathy, she looked like she knew something.

"As you wish," the maid said with a monotone voice as she looked at me with a stale face.

The maid walked towards me and fluttered her feathers, she picked me up with ease and carried me like a princess. She let out a fast and short breath and a small amount of purple sparks appeared around her and next thing I knew we were inside the palace and then I instantly passed out.

"NO COME BACK," I shoot up from a lying down position and sit in an unfamiliar bed.

"Ugh, that dream again," I say as I struggle to see due to being disorientated. I look around me again, sensing a familiar sensation from when I first met Avem. The room was incredibly fancy, a giant window to my left displaying the entire Kingdom of Harpania, a big double door to my far right with two statues of harpies on the two sides of the door. I was laying in an incredibly fancy bed fit for almost 5 people.

Suddenly the door bangs open and Avem rushes in.

"OLIVER ARE YOU OKAY," she looked at me with extreme worry and happiness.

"Hey Avem," I say weakly as I smile back at her.

"OLIVER YOU SHINSTER WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED," she ran towards me and jumped ontop of me hugging me tightly.

"I'm sorry I couldn't watch the duel, SOMEBODY didn't let me go," she said as she shot an angry gaze at the queen.

"Hey, hey get off me," I say as my voice is muffled by Avems feathers covering my face.

"Yeah deal with it, you worried your teacher sick." At this point she was purposely shoving her feathers in my face just to annoy me.

Soon after Queen Siren walked in with the same maid that helped me follow behind her.

"I see that my daughter likes you very much," she smiled at me and Avem. When Avem realised her mother entered the room she got off me and looked away in annoyance much to the queens dismay. She quickly changed her demeanor and changed her attention back to me.

"How are you feeling Oliver, you've been sleeping for 3 days and you gave the maids quite a hard time." She said as she chuckled a little.

"Wait what do you mean I gave you a hard time," I said with slight annoyance.

"Haha, nothing," Queen Siren said as she pulled herself together. She stood straight and looked at me with a serious face.

"Now, can everyone please leave the room, I need to talk to Oliver alone."

Avem looked at her mother in immense annoyance as she stormed out of the room, Venus soon followed behind and the doors closed behind them.

Queen Siren walked to my bed and sat down on the other side, as she sat down she changed into a more relaxed position letting her wings out almost as if she was stretching. As she spreads her wings out I stare at them mesmerized by the beautiful ocean blue wings.

"Enough staring at me Olvier, I came to talk to you seriously," she said as she let out a cheeky smile knowing she caught me.

*Ahem* "What did you want to talk about," I said awkwardly.

"Do you still want to know who The Entity is?"

I fix my posture to get ready to talk.

I want to know.
