Chapter 107 - Daughters of Darkness

Laci trudged her way into the kitchen, her eyes only half open, barely even waking up enough to slip on her robe before searching out the strongest cup of coffee she could make. When she shuffled into the kitchen, her mother already sat at the kitchen table, a cup of coffee in her hands and a legal pad resting in front of her. Laci cocked an eyebrow at the pad of paper as she moved over to the cabinet for a coffee mug. “Good morning,” she mumbled. “Making a list or writing a love note or something?”

Maria took a sip of her coffee, reading over whatever she wrote in front of her. Setting the cup in front of her, she said, “Actually, it’s research notes about your ghost friend.” She glanced over her shoulder at Laci, a smirk toying with her lips. “You two came in late last night. Something you need to share with your mother?”
