Chapter 130 - Chaos Magicians

Ten years. Dean Nettleton walked out on her ten years ago, and now here he was, standing on her doorstep.

“Hi, Tansy,” he said, giving her a weak shrug, his lips twisted in what she took to be nervousness. “Long time no see, right? How are you doing?”

Crossing her arms over her chest, she stood there, staring, not sure how to feel at the moment. Anger. Shock. Sadness. Regret. She felt them all, like her gut was the Bingo ball machine spinning to get a number. “Why are you here?” she finally asked, eyes narrowed. “Let me guess, you just remembered you forgot to leave a note and came back to tell me where the hell you went.”

Dean held up his hands, warding off any more of Tansy’s verbal assault. When she stopped talking, he ran his hand through his shaggy hair and blew out a deep breath. “Look, you have every right to be pissed off…”

“Pissed doesn’t begin to describe how I feel right now,” she snarled. “You didn’t even have the decency to say goodbye.”
