Just Another High School Story!

"I feel like music is the most beautiful thing that ever existed and continues to exist...", Leah began, she'd decided to speak her mind-- no nonsense from now on, she'd speak not without a filter but she'd speak what she truly wanted to talk about, she'd find a companion who loved what she did, or if not, they'd lend ear to her, the feeling of trying to understand each other's worlds and words would be mutual, Ethan seemed like the only person she wanted to open up to for now, "A guitar, piano, drums, a harp, a harmonium, a violin, a cello, rain pattering, birds chirping, nature's sounds, the hustle and bustle of the sweet wind, it's all so pleasant. Do you hear it E?" She asked him with a look of enthusiasm and intensity that Ethan hadn't seen before, her eyes glimmered, he was happy, she finally seemed to talk about something she liked, her smile wasn't fake, she wasn't forcing it, there were dimples on her cheek, it was the most beautiful smile Ethan had ever seen, and it took him a second to catch his breath, he mulled over what she said, and recollecting the conversation, which seemed to echo as her smile was clear as day in his mind, he replied, "What?" That was all he could get out, he felt as if time had stopped, he couldn't wrap his brain around how she'd addressed him, she'd called him E, an endearing name, it sounded nice to his ears, and he yearned for her to say it again, "I mean the music that wind carries, it's weird when I look around and feel the air, it's like the soft kiss of music, there's this faint sound that echoes from every corner, every breeze is like a soft caress, when it blows my hair, or when it brushed against my skin, music... the music in the wind, the music of the wind... it's divine." When she said this she closed her eyes, and felt the wind, more precisely the music she was talking about, Ethan closed his eyes, and sure enough he felt it too, there was this weird musical sound that the wind blowing so softly and hugging them had, he wondered why he hadn't felt it before. "Do you like music that much?" he asked her, still in a trance from what he'd experienced, it truly felt incredible and indescribable, you only needed the ears to listen, the wind sounded musical, though Ethan wasn't sure if it was real, was it because he loved her and wanted to believe in everything she did, but the music was so real, clear, marvellous, how could it just be love, he believed in it, because he did hear the music, she'd showed him something that he never would've discovered on his own, what was this new world that she'd become for him, for the past few days, it'd felt like he was choking, now that everything was cleared up between them and she was smiling beside him, he couldn't ask for anything more, he felt extremely grateful for everything and he missed his dad. He hadn't really gotten a chance to talk about his dad with anyone. Leah was the first one he'd opened up to, and as usually is the benefit of sharing the heart's troubles with someone else, E felt lighter, less guilty... more peaceful.

Just like that they spent the night together-- wandering around-- however, they didn't feel lost, rather they felt like they'd finally found themselves-- through each other-- this was one of the best nights of their lives-- for the both of them, this night would become something memorable, something that they'd always remember.

The next day, Leah woke up early, she looked in the mirror rand said to herself, "I love you and I'll try to change for the better, I'll work hard to become who I want to be." that said, she took a shower while listening to music-- she'd planned to start from the beginning, she'd finally stopped hating herself, now what? Did she want to remain as she was? Wouldn't that be the opposite of what she wanted because she wasn't who she wanted to be, when she first started his school, she'd thought about having a perfect high school life, she suddenly realised that it didn't matter to her-- she was forcing herself to like being the centre of attention, she just liked hearing other people admire her and be envious of her, she realised her mindset was rotten, she didn't wanna be bullied for being Ms Pop, she didn't wanna hang out with a fake group of friends, she wanted to be real, even if others didn't like it, because last night, when she'd talked to E, she'd felt like she was on cloud nine, she felt really happy talking about music, she'd never told anyone that she felt like she could hear music in the wind, she'd worried about what they say, but now her soliloquy was no longer a soliloquy, it was something that she'd shared with a person, a person whom she wanted to be friends with.

Having grown up in a perfect world, where society values looks, figures, beauty, status one character, personality, principles, and intellect, Leah'd grown forlorn, desolate, she felt like she wasn't enough, constantly seeing other peoples' social media, seeing their smiles when she had tears in her eyes, she'd grown difficult, she'd grown... childish. She blamed others for her sorrows, and excused herself, she would be the one to binge and then blame other kids for calling her fat, how could she when she felt the same about herself. In reality, by hating on others and playing the victim for so long, Leah'd grown weak, she'd have to work really hard to change that and she'd start today, she'd planned a workout session after school, she didn't know what she was going to do, she'd walk or something, but before that she'd made herself breakfast, for the first time in four years, Leah would have proper breakfast.
