Chapter 3

“All set!” You can see Troy being so excited by the whole set up while Louise on the other hand is very nervous on what would happen during the challenge. Some of the students are cheering Louise and Sean while some of them are still wondering why Louise should be the girl participants even if Troy already said the reason.

“The item for this year’s challenge will be a small red box that contains used admission slips. Don’t worry, we ask permission from the office.” Troy said.

Some of the students are laughing why they would put admission slips in the box. But this challenge is also known to include random stuffs as the missing object.

“You will have 2 hours to find the red box or… will be locked inside the library for the rest of the night. You’re choice.” Troy instructed. It is obvious that he’s just pissing off Louise.

Sean noticed that Louise looks nervous and almost shaking. “Are you nervous?” Louise instantly answered “No, I’m not.” with a firm voice.

“But you seemed nervous. Don’t deny it.” Sean insisted.

“I said I’m not!” Louise walks aggressively towards the library’s entrance not minding what might happen later but still worries about it deep inside.

Louise instantly opens the double door to enter the library before Troy could say the starting signal. Before Louise got inside, Sean instantly grabbed her wrist and drags her inside the library.

“Why did you drag me? Are we that close?” Louise harshly asked Sean.

“2 hours will be wasted if we don’t get inside quickly. Let’s find that red box already.” Sean said and started walking towards the big book shelves while Louise’s feet is still glued at the entrance of the library with sweat dripping in her neck because of nervousness while facing the big shelves in front of her.

The library is one of the oldest buildings in the university and said to be the scariest from all of the buildings. The library is full of big shelves inside of it with old books in it. Because of it, lights cannot lit the inside properly that makes it dim and so closed. This is also because the windows are a bit small.

Even if there are lights inside, it cannot light up the whole library properly. Louise feels like the library is too small and narrow and feels that she wants to vomit. Sean noticed that Louise is not following him that’s why he returned to the entrance and found Louise that was just looks blank and pale.

“Are you okay?” He asked. It was like a wakeup call for Louise to come back to her senses. “I’m okay.”

“But why do you look so pale? Are you hungry? Did you not eat?” Sean asked Louise seriously. He is concerned about why Louise looks like that.

“I ate okay? Let’s just find that red box already so that we can go out from this library.” She acted okay and walk pass by Sean. She just want to end this challenge before she feel worst.

The library is bigger than it seems. It just looks small because of the big book shelves around.

While Louise is patiently searching the red box, Sean is just following her and observing her actions. He knows that Louise is not feeling well but he don’t know why that’s why he’s just preparing for what might happen.

They are still on the 5th shelf from the right of the entrance and they are already inside the library for almost 2 hours but still found nothing. There is still a second floor of the library but they are still in the ground floor.

While searching for the box, Louise still feels anxious about the idea that they are inside the library and she is still feels sweaty. She is so eager to find the red box to get out of this building as soon as possible because she doesn’t want Sean to know about something about herself.

After looking into the 7th shelf, she notices something boxy on top of a cabinet. It’s also could be the box because it looks like the red box.

“There!” Louise instantly shouted while pointing a red box above a cabinet. She was so excited to get it and scans the area for something to climb to. She tries to reach it but she still could not reach it. She wants to ask Sean the favour of reaching it but she is not that close to him and she want to instantly get it. Sean noticed that Louise is struggling to reach something above the cabinet that is why she carried the girl.

Louise got shocked because of the thought that a boy is carrying her. She also feels uncomfortable because she is not close with Sean and she doesn’t want someone to notice what she feels.

“Put me down!” Louise insisted.

“Just reach the box then I’ll put you down.” Louise just keeps moving so that Sean would put her down but Sean didn’t.

“I said just reach the box and it’s done!” Sean shouted because she keeps on moving that makes his arms hurt. Louise could not do anything that’s why she just reached for the box. Sean was going to put her down but she accidentally dropped the box. She was going to catch it but they fell onto the floor and Louise landed on Sean’s chest and met each other’s eyes.

Louise’s heartbeat that was already beating fast because of the situation just got a lot louder by the thought that she is lying on Sean’s chest very close to each other while looking at each other’s eyes.

Sean’s heartbeat also was beating fast by the thought that she is so close with a girl and holding her in his arms. This also feels like those romantic scenes seen in a movie.

They looked at each other and Louise’s cheeks instantly turned red because of their uncomfortable position. But they immediately stood and looked where the red box landed.

"Opss false alarm."
