As I feared, it seemed that although my strength and agility had increased my endurance had decreased, meaning that there was definitely something wrong with my body. So now left with no other choice I once again had to call on the system in order to get answers, before I could actually do so though, it showed up on its own.

'Of course... would you be able to tell me exactly which disease I contacted though, or does that require an extra payment as well?'

"Don't worry host, there is no need you already paid for it before, as for what disease you have exactly I can only really describe it as a less evolved version of the flu as it had already evolved significantly by the time you people began recording and naming diseases"

'That can't be though, I have been breathing perfectly fine and haven't coughed or sneezed as far as I can remember, are you sure that your result is accurate?'

"Without a doubt host, it's just that thanks to the proficiency prioritizing option being selected the system makes it so that your body does not register your immune and neurological systems actions in order to increase your efficiency and prevent you from being slowed down by things like coughing as you mentioned"

'... I'm sorry, I must have heard wrong, did you just say that you turned off my awareness of my immune system?'

"That would be correct host, but just to clarify it was you who selected the option"

'...I don't recall that... was I conscious when this happened?'

"Technically yes, the system basically bases the optional decisions on your 'subconscious beliefs' to put it that way, basically instead of asking you directly and running the risk of having situational circumstances affect your answer I just grabbed the answer you would give when no variables were to be present and went with that"

'Fair enough, still though, that does not explain how I wasn't aware that I had this disease, after all, sneezing and coughing are followed by subconscious movements my body makes. And also how I still felt pain although you said you 'turned off' my neurological responses? '

"About that, regarding the sneezing thing basically on the outside you were doing that, it's just that since your brain processes everything around you based on the signals your brain receives so in order to change your perspective all I had to do was just change the signals that were being sent to your brain and making you 'see' the desired surrounding. It's a really simple host, honestly, I would have expected you to figure it out on your own…

As for the neurological responses thing, the goal of the proficiency prioritizing option only really affects feelings related to the disease as it would be counterproductive to make you unable to feel the pain that you would be clearly able to tell you should be feeling"

'How in the he-, but, isn't that already counterproductive… I mean wouldn't me knowing I have a disease make it so that I would be able to do things to alleviate it'

"Well hosts, I'm just following protocol, plus, it's not like you could have actually done anything to actually help with your condition could you?"

'Not re-, you know what just forget it, so, I assume I just have to be more careful and it will go away on its own right, after all, it's just a less evolved version of the flu'

"Quite the contrary host, although it is true that it is a less evolved version of the flu, and is a lot less deadly, you seem to have forgotten that your immune system is also a lot less evolved than the one you used to have. Plus, you have no access to any medicine, I'd give you a month at best, still, there is hope, you still have RP"

I had expected it to tell me what I needed, but before it did it decided to just disappear. And while I knew that it would be really easy to just ask the system for it, it was clear that it didn't want to. Plus chances were that if it did give me the answer I would have to pay it Rp, which I desperately needed right now.

As for its sudden change of tone, I assumed that it had probably solved whatever was bothering it. It was rather worrying that the system hadn't warned about the 'proficiency prioritization' option though, as it meant that there was a chance that there were other things like it that I was currently unaware of.

Regardless, knowing that the sooner I could get this over with the better, I decided to immediately go over to the system store and look for any skills that could possibly help me with my condition. And while after a while I was able to find a promising skill that enhanced my lungs it was 175 RP.
