Junk-Yard... House?

Camellia ran for almost an hour and had started to get out of breath.

She had found that her body was good at sprinting short distances, and was quite fast at that! However, she tended to struggle quite a lot when even jogging if it meant she had to do so for an extended amount of time.

'Screw this, I'll just find a random backyard or something and do it there. I should probably start working out or something but... I'm lazy.'

'Wait what? So my muscles just won't get stronger??? You... There's a difference between 'Worst case' and 'unsurvivable', you know??'

'Legs huh... LEGS HUH?! I specifically learnt how to box and use a sword back on earth for when I would get isekai'd... and now I can't use either??'

DEMONESS!

"Oh!"

Stopping in her tracks, she noticed a somewhat broken down looking house. This was quite rare considering how sturdy and well built their buildings were. However, this building was... strange...

It was a smaller one story building that looked like it was leaning on an angle. It was almost completely covered in vines, but seemed to me made of bones. It had open slanted windows and a roof full of holes. If it hadn't been for Camellia having not seen any insects or smaller rodents, this place would definitely be overrun.

It was off in 'the middle of nowhere' in this fenced in town. With it being surrounded by bushes and 'junk piles' of old, dust covered fragile looking bones and wood, it wouldn't come to a surprise if this place had been forgotten, or turned into a garbage dump.

'Now that I think about it... This bone is just covered in greenery, but doesn't look like its molding? Does this stuff not go bad?'

'hmm... Well, if that's the case... ISN'T THIS PLACE JUST HEAVEN FOR ME?!?!'

That's right! This place is a gold mine! There are piles of bones and wood! A house with structural issues that could easily be fixed using her Thread manipulation and weaving combo! And to top it all off, it's totally secluded!!

'Right! I'll test later then I guess, for now I should try to 'fix' this house if only even slightly... From the outside of course...'

Walking up to the seemingly unsteady and untrustworthy structure, she slowly placed her hand on the corner of the frame and lightly pushed. Her whole side of the house slightly wavered, scaring her half to death, but it's shape didn't change.

'Mm! seems perfect!.'

'Didn't you say you knew about my past? Liar! Stop trying to pity me when you did nothing but make it harder!'

Having had more work added to her agenda, she sat back from the building and ate a few more fruits while thinking about how to fix this unsightly 'home.'

'First thing's first, I should strengthen all the corners, I can probably use some of the wood or bones here to do that. Then I can try to push the bend out of it. I doubt I'll actually be able to do that, but who knows. Then I'll have to check to see what's up with the inside, no way am I peaking my head into that thing till I'm done with the sides.'

'Quit pretending and get back to designing that damn glove!'

"Sir Zeph!"

A somewhat younger looking Orc-elf clad in light bone armor came running towards a busy looking Zeph. Who was talking to another man, seemingly about business matters.

"Did you find her?"

He asked a cold and specific question without beating around the bush. His voice and demeanor clearly shook the guard and businessman, making them both shiver and freeze slightly.

"I- I'll.. We can finish talking later Sir Zeph..."

Pounding his clipboard to his chest he quickly ran away from the imposing figure, who seemed to be brimming with irritation.

"Out with it."

"R- Right! We ended up finding where the rat was staying but they escaped out of the top window into a hay barrel before we could catch them!"

Blurting out his answer, he simply lowered his head expecting to be punished or yelled at for letting them escape.

"Your mission is to find 'her' not 'the rat.' If she ran away, then go chase after her before you lose her trail."

"Y- Yes Sir! Sorry Sir!"

As the guard ran away in fear for making a mistake and glee for not being punished, the little girl that had been sitting out of view behind Zeph had stood up and walked towards him, asking with a curious and adorable face.

"Y- You're still looking for her Sir?"

"Of course."

Their conversation was direct and concise, getting right to the point, only to answer in one breath.

"You think... that you will find her?"

"She cannot leave the village or she will die. She is still here, do not worry."

He patted her head as he said this, walking away while rubbing the peach-fuzz on his chin. Only to mumble to himself in a low and stern voice.

"She's here, and I will find her. You have my word Euro."

"Phew!"

A few hours had passed since she started reinforcing the corner beams of the building, and to her surprise, it had somewhat straightened itself out as she worked. She had also strengthened the doorframe while she was at it.

'Good, it's not as crooked anymore, the beams look prettier too now that I used some wood to reinforce it. Maybe I should be a carpenter instead of a blacksmith...'

nO~ nOt GiRlY~

'Women can be carpenters too! There's nothing wrong with that! Besides, look how good a job I did! I'll make this place look beautiful in no time! starting with the inside, watch!'

Walking towards the door with a smug look on her face and a hand on her hip, she continued...

'Look, I bet it's not even that bad inside, I'll take just one day to fix it up! Just watch-'

Seeing the inside of the 'house' she now noticed how hopeless her boasting was. The inside was full of bushes and vines with no support beams, no furniture, no floor... Well, no house! There was even a dead animal(?) just laying in the corner!

'What the fuck... is this...'

*Crash*

A window frame had collapsed, causing there to be a secondary door sized hole to the left of the doorframe she stood under.

Standing in the door frame for about ten minutes contemplating the consequences to her actions, she had slightly hoped her reinforced door frame would collapse too.

'Chun should be sharp enough to cut my stomach open right Libbo?'

'Should I just turn myself into Zeph and the elf-orc mafia? I think that's not too bad of an option...'

...

'You don't think they would torture me right? Oh, maybe I could just drown myself with the barrel, I can make a little lid or something. That sounds painful, but it'll work.'

Summoning out the barrel of water she quickly started making a disc of wood from the pile that sat next to the house.

...

'Now I have time to find a proper way to die, thank you.'
