"Feeling better?" Beth looked at the fox beast woman who gained consciousness after around four hours. Seeing someone strange the moment when she woke up Daphne hid behind the blankets as she trembled shivering all over.
'Poor girl..' He sighed as he tried to calm the girl. "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you." He tried to pat her head.
"Behave and I won't hurt you." The familiar sound rang inside her ear and mistook Beth for the person who kidnapped her.
"Go away Stay away from me." She tried to scratch him as she covered up herself more and more as if trying to cover her existence as whole.
"This is gonna be troublesome." Beth swiftly arrived behind her and before she could react hit her softly but accurately on the back of her neck . She fell down unconscious.
"Forgive me lady, but you need more time to get out of your trauma. For now take a nice long rest." He helped her to the bed and after covering up her with blankets went out the room.
The mansion was the same as before but it looked a little empty without the master. "I hope you are doing alright master. Return safely." Beth prayed in his heart but to whom only he knew.
"You know anything and everything?" Rubia stopped her pen midway and looked at the man before her. "Yes, as long as it's with in my range I will know it." Max assured her.
"I am willing to let you help me but under one condition." She had a stoic look on her face. "Help me find my sister." Before Max could answer her she cut her own words and said, "You can just tell me her location, even approximate is enough as long as I can get her, I am willing to let you help me with anything."
It was the first time she had humbled herself before someone and it was a man at that. But instead of feeling repulsive and disgusted she felt she could actually rely on someone. That was a new feeling for her.
"I don't have power to locate her." Max looked at her guiltily. 'As expected., I guess it's not that easy he he.' Rubia tried to cheer up herself but she failed as her eyes filled with tears.
'My eyes are sweating, is it because of heat?' Rubia started to fan herself trying to stop the flow but it got even harder as she looked at the face of the man in front of her that was filled with deep sorrow and care for her.
After the death of her parents she was the sole heir to be next chief but many people were against her. It was appropriate to say they were against a woman leading them. Men tried to approach her, use tricks to get her to marry them just for the post of tribe chief. Since then she hated the men. She hated their despicable and beastly nature.
"But why are you so different, why are your eyes so pure and kind towards me???Just why??" Rubia choked on her tears. She was officially crying for the first time after the death of her parents. All of her insecurities, pain, sufferings, sadness and remorse came out as she cried like a baby in front of a totally strange man she had met for just second time.
Tears were for weak and so she never cried. She didn't want people to see her weak. When the wall of dam of her heart finally collapsed all her emotions came like a tsunami.
"It's okay. You are a big girl. Cry all you want. I will wait for you to calm down." He rubbed her head with his hands stroking them once in a while. Rubia remembered her mother doing the same for her when she was sick as a kid.
"Mom…."She cried her heart out. The guards outside the tent heard their chief crying but didn't believe it at first. When it didn't stop they tried to go inside the tent to see the problem but for some reason they couldn't enter that particular chamber.
'Points are earned to be spent.' He simply replied as he continued his action.
The system wanted to try to argue more but decided it was best not to since what he said was half true.
"There is no reason for this. Even if there was you won't be able to get it." He replied absent mindedly.
System, "..."
"IQ is not the only factor that's necessary my still newbie system." Max answered with a little laugh.
After crying for more than half an hour, she finally calmed down. She felt a little embarrassed at this unexpected emotional outburst but her body, mind and soul were feeling lighter and better than ever.
"Thank you…."She whispered lowly in her soft voice that contained a little bit of shyness.
"What did you say?" Max went closer to her face trying to get a clear word since he didn't hear it.
There it was again. That familiar butterfly feeling in her stomach whenever she was with him. "I said shameless.." She turned around trying to get away from his face as much as possible.
Max who was called shameless without reason. "...…"
"There is one thing you should know. I have a guess regarding your sister's location." Max looked at her,
"Tell me, even if its hell I am willing to go there." She regained her cool and composed aura just like the first time he had seen her. Crying Rubia was cute and looked sweet but whenever he saw this woman, cold and proud it made his heart race.
"The castle of your Beast king." Max said watching Rubbia's each and every detail of emotion and expression.
"What about it??" She asked wondering why he brought that up.
"Your sister, she might be there." Max explained her everything regarding what has happened in the wolf tribe exactly when her sister was abducted from the Fox tribe.
"There are two contradictory actions happening at same time. So you know hat that indicates right?" Max asked her staring right into her eyes.
"There is involvement of third party." Rubia widened her eyes expressing her doubts and surprise.
"How can you be sure it's the King who ordered that??" Rubia wanted some strong points to accept his hypothesis and suspicion.
"Who will be foolish enough to attack the leading and top tribes of beast man in this dimension making enemy of them on a single go?" He answered himself, "Its either the strongest or the dumbest beast man on this dimension."
He further added, "I don't think I need to tell you about the extent of the power of beast king, the lord of this dimension. The lord is the only one who can execute such an act without straining his own hand or having to worry about his life. So I have my suspicions."
If it really was the Lord himself who was the master mind behind the tragedy that fell upon both of the clans then she was going to slay him even if it meant giving up her own life.
Sensing her murderous intent he immediately tried to calm her. "Whoa, wait a minute, Don't think about slaying the lord by giving your own life. Don't forget you are not alone in this fight and there is the wolf clan as well."
Rubia felt a little embarrassed when her thought was spoken out like that. "But this wolf clan, I still don't trust them. Will they cooperate with us?" Rubia remembered how savage and blood thirsty the wolves were.
"You have my word on it. Now tell the news to your people otherwise they might enter the battlefield." Max winked at her. "I can trust you right? " Rubia asked for the last time. She wanted to see if the man was really sincere or was just like other, deceiving and cheater.
She looked at his soul using her power, 'The soul cleanser' , the spell among the fox tribe beast man that could only be used once in life. Many used it to choose their mates and life partners. His soul was a ball of blue light that glowed brighter than the moon in the night sky.
"What are you looking at??" Max waved his hand in front of her eyes trying to gain her attention. "It was nothing. I just feel like I can trust you now." Rubia walked out the tent where she met her tribesman and women waiting for her.
"My Queen, are you alright??" Many of them had a worried expression. "I am okay but why are all of you here?" Rubia looked at the mass that has gathered.
"Its just we heard you crying and howling so we thought you were in trouble." A soldier spoke.
"We are sorry if we bothered you." They decided to slowly back away now that they have seen their chief was all okay.
Rubia laughed her cheeks getting a little red. "Thank you for worrying about me but I am okay now." That was the most hearty laugh she had shown them in years. She truly was happy. 'Meeting that man was the right thing to do.' She thought and turned back to look at him who silently showed a smile cheering her up.
"As of now, I have an important announcement to make." She addressed all of the tribesman present and declared. "We are pausing the war from our side."
The crowd got in an uproar and looked at her with confusions and complicated emotions. "Are you saying we should surrender??" One of them asked.
"I absolutely didn't mean that."Rubia took a deep breath and spoke out, "We are negotiating with the wolf tribe and as long as they are willing to co operate with us, we are going to end this bloody useless war once and for all." She added slowly, "We can't let more of our people die for this war of so called pride and revenge. I hope you will agree with me."
Rubia bowed down before the crowd showing her sincerity and determination, "You are the chief, we are willing to follow you to the ends of the world." All the tribesman who had seen her unparalleled leadership and judgment decided to trust her on this one.
On the wolf camp, Mina who was going to tell the last thing to make sure they were totally convinced was suddenly stopped.
"Don't say anymore." Ray who was on her side spoke in his voice which seemed louder than usual.
"Huh ? But why?" Mina looked in confusion at the man who was walking towards her.
'Wait, did he go Berserk again??" Mina felt sweat forming on her forehead. 'If he did then her plan was utter failure.' Mina thought as she counted each step of the wolf man striding towards her.
