After wiping his nose, Chao Duyi looked around the room. There were colors everywhere, and it was a very playful environment for kids.
The environment was warm, but Duyi hated how kids smelled... but he knew he had to blend in.
It was time to make new friends!
Burning bridges was not an easy task, so he should build even better ones for himself.
Ones that wouldn't result in him getting hurt!
In the corner, there was a slightly chubbier kid who seemed a bit taller than the rest.
He played with foam blocks by himself and had already constructed some-what of a small castle.
While he wasn't as cute as the other kindergartners, because of his fat and slightly larger stature, he could still be considered a cute kid.
As Duyi walked over, he began to speculate whether or not this kid was older than the others. He seemed smarter and had a calm temperament.
He went close and took a big sniff.
The fatty didn't smell as bad as the other kids.
He stood in front of the kid and decided to make friends in the way any little brat would.
He pointed straight at the fatty.
"Hey!"
The kid looked at him with cold eyes. It was cute because he was young, and he had a lot of fat on his face.
Duyi continued after a brief silence.
"Tell me your name, Fatty! And then we can be friends!"
The kid snorted and went back to playing with his blocks after looking at Duyi as if he were stupid.
He had just seen Duyi bawl his eyes out, and they were still red. He didn't want to hang out with such a dumb classmate, but the kid still didn't go away after he was ignored.
Duyi just sat down and began to play with the blocks too.
"My name is Chao Duyi, and by favorite color is lavender. I like to eat melona and sit in the sun. Sometimes, I play on the swing and the monkey bars when my mom takes me to the park. I also like cotton candy, but sometimes it's too sweet. I don't watch TV because my dad hogs it when he gets home and watches the news or sports. I think he wants me to play sports too, but my mom says I'm too pretty and tries to dress me up all the time..."
Duyi talked because the kid wouldn't and tried to irritate the kid into being his friend later.
He began to ask the Fatty questions to which he received shortened answers. But they were enough.
"Fatty, do you play blocks everyday?" "No."
"Fatty, how can you be so big?" "My dad is big."
"Fatty, are you older than us?" "No."
"Fatty, what's your favorite color?" "Blue."
"Fatty, are you going to tell me your name?" "Xia Haoran."
"Oh, I like that name. Mine is kinda girly because my mom wanted a girl."
"Hmm."
The fatty looked at Duyi, and squinted his eyes. Was he really supposed to be a boy too? He looked like a girl anyway. The girly name seemed to suit him.
Duyi stretched, exposing he white belly, and decided to be a brat.
"Well, you told me your name. That means we're friends now. I won't call you fatty anymore then. I'll call you Big Ran and you can call me Little Duyi!"
Duyi then reached into his pocket and took out a small candy that the original owner had apparently saved, handing it to Haoran.
"Here is my candy! You can have it because I'm your friend now."
Duyi acted ignorant, but Haoran surprisingly accepted that candy.
"Okay."
On the side, a little ways away, Miaomiao was watching Duyi get along with Haoran and inexplicably felt a small pang in her chest.
Duyi never gave her candy before!
She felt so mad!
Haoran had stolen Duyi away from her! And Duyi treated the Fatty even better than her!
