Chapter 33

“L-like this…?”

“You’re doing great, Rosanna.”

“Okay…”

“Milady, you must press harder to cut the dough.”

“Like this?”

“Harder. The cookie-cutter is used to cut the dough, Rosanna.”

Baking is much more of a challenge than I thought.

It’s much easier to knit, or crochet, or to embroider!

“That’s it, Rosanna.”

Finally, I press down *hard* at the dough with the cutter.

“... Rosanna? Rosanna, not too hard, you might make an indent on the counter-”

Oh no!

Quickly releasing my whole weight from the dough, the Duchess removes the cutter before she gently pries the cut dough from the rest of it.

It’s in the shape of a little flower!

I wonder if my awe is showing on my face- no I’m sure of it when I hear both the Duchess and the nursemaid giggle when they see my expression.

My cheeks turn red.

How embarrassing.

“Is this your first time baking?”

You’re asking me this now?! When we’re halfway through the process?!

“Is it that obvious?”
