Chapter 12

After coming back from his training Raynold was greeted by a white missile which slammed into him with a hug.

"Ray quick! Check my maths homework! I think I aced it!"

"Sure, let's go."

He casually picked his Kitten up and went upstairs to her room.

The girl then quickly handed over her homework and waited giddily for him to check.

"Good. You fully grasped this. Even the more difficult ones. This is very good. The moment you 'understand' and can apply, the moment it means you have mastered it."

The more he praised her the more she beamed! This was it! The ultimate award she has been waiting for!

"Yes! I realised it! It just made sense! What you said before made sense now, at first it was confusing, it made me want to drop it, but I just kept trying!" As Kiana was saying that she was almost dancing. It was extremely awesome to become good at this! Especially when she was quite bad at maths at the very beginning.

It has been only around 2 to 3 weeks of constant studying. If they had grades it would be around A to A+. Sadly grades only start when they are in fifth grade. She can't wait for that!

"Good to hear that it's not boring anymore. Regardless, you aced this, do you want something as a reward?"

'There it is!!!' She thought to herself, the magic words!

"Yes. Let's watch a movie! And get some pizza! With a stuffed crust!"

He sighed when she said that.

"Fine. Let's go to the store."

"YES!"

It was night time and outside there was quite a strong storm with thunder rumbling every few moments. Raynold, who was still not asleep, was simply staring at the ceiling of his room.

There is something beautiful about thunderstorms which always make him just look at the ceiling and see the room constantly getting illuminated every few moments.

Though his love for this is not for everyone, for example his Kitten…

As he was thinking about it the doors of his room opened and someone extremely stealthily sneaked inside his room.

Swiftly this invader ended up under his bedsheets and then proceeded to hug him like a heat source without any sort of reluctance.

Raynold simply sighed before hugging her back.

That moment another thunder rumbled and illuminated his room…

This allowed for the boy to see. His eyes widened for a second as he saw quite a large light blue tattoo on his kitten back. It was quite big as he could see some of it sticking out from her shirt!

It was a Stigmata!

It was nothing like Seele's Stigmata! The thing about Seele's stigmata is that he could easily sense hers but he quite often scans his Kitten…he never sensed anything weird about her…except her wild Golden Core.

He frowned for a bit before deciding to ask her later. For now it was time to sleep.

Fu Hua looked at the red eyed girl who had honey blond hair. This girl respectfully bowed towards her. This was her assistant for this infiltration mission.

"Rita Rossweisse. I will be in your command, Commander Fu Hua."

The blue haired girl slowly nodded.

"I hope you were briefed about your assignment?"

"Yes. This is a critical operation. My young age of graduation in Valkyrie academy with personality made me perfectly suited for this."

"Yes. Apart from that, do you know what you need to do?"

"...pretend to be a regular student?" Rita said with a slightly confused tone. She was quite amiss with her first mission as full fledged Valkyrie.

"I see… so you were not told what is going on?" Fu Hua had an understanding look. This made sense…it was quite terrifying…to get close to Herrschers…

"I was told that my superior will brief me on my objectives." Rita said with a professional voice.

"Very well. Our objective is to get close to two Herrschers living in this town and attending the school."

"...Herrschers? Don't you mean candidates for Herrschers?" the red eyed girl once again said with confused tone.

"Actual Herrschers, Rita." As Fu Hua said she showed the pictures of white haired girl floating in air and raining spears on Honkai Beasts while another pictured hand black haired boy just standing with hands in his pockets while Honkai Beasts around him deform while floating in air.

"This…"

"The girl is the second coming of Herrscher of Void. Though none of the personality of the original Herrscher is there. This Kiana Kaslana is role student in her school. Her performance constantly has been improving since she transferred to this school.

Though she is important she is not as important as the boy. The boy is the biggest mystery and the Overseer wants to know everything about him. By everything I mean everything. Because of him we have a second Herrscher. In other words he has some sort of means to make a person able to control its Herrscher persona.

If it's true… Then we would have to have several if not an army of Herrschers to fight against Honkai."

Rita's eyes were wide… when they meant critical…this is THE MOST CRITICAL mission to date!

"I understand. What do you wish me to do?" The red eyed girl respectfully asked what her mission was. She will do it to perfection!

"Your objective is to get close to the pair as a student. While I do the same as his P.E teacher. According to my sources…which is very sparse in this country, he is a martial arts enthusiast and is extremely good in physical activities. This makes my job easier.

Regardless, you need to become friends with them, they should open up to you in due time."

Once again the girl nodded her head with a respectful bow. She will ace this!

"Understood. I will approach them once I have a clear picture of their characters."

"There is no haste. The Overseer wants this done by any means necessary. This means no haste. If the boy finds us suspicious we might end up transported out of his territory."

Fu Hua said that with a sweaty forehead. She remembers reports of what happened to people which are deemed not welcome to the country… Raynold Westwood simply opened a wormhole and they were gone…

The boy is utterly ruthless when it comes to his town and his family's well being.

'Maybe he made Sirin understood the goodness of humanity? That is a possibility…' The Blue Haired Martial Artist girl thought to herself. Maybe it's something to do at a spiritual level?

"Transported? What do you mean?"

"Schicksal is not welcome here thanks to the Second Eruption. Schicksal was worried about humanity as a whole and was willing to sacrifice these nations as a buffer zone for Honkai beasts. As you can guess…these nations didn't like that. Ever since then Schicksal Valkyrie presence here was non-existent. Instead, Herrscher took over as protector of these people.

They would rather take Herrscher side then Valkyrie one. Remember that."

Rita could only nod…how ridiculous is this? Humans taking the side of beings which are supposed to wipe them out?

'Human nature…truly the greatest mystery in this world…'

Raynold looked at the new teacher of his P.E studies. His father bragged to him the day before that they got authentic Martial Artist from the Far East!

Now he is 100% certain that it is the truth! Scratch that! It's more than that!

The boy's senses were all over the place when he tried to sense her…

Something was odd about her…

'A unique bloodline? Curious… She doesn't have a Golden core but her power is way above average what regular people should have…

However…it all pales to how old is her soul… Is she a cultivator of this world?

Did my progress affect the hidden societies of this world they are now sending people to spy on me?'

As he was thinking about it, she might look young for a teacher but she quickly got everyone on her toes with her commanding voice.

"Good Morning everyone. My name is Fu Hua, and I am your P.E teacher from today. Why don't we start with a lap around the gymnasium to celebrate that?"

For a second Raynold smiled hearing that. Well, well, she already got brownie points from him!

Fu Hua's eyes were locked on Raynold Westwood for the majority of the P.E lesson.

She could not by any means see him as Herrscher… It just doesn't make any sort of sense… Valkyrie could not sense anything weird from him.

Same with Kiana Kaslana… Though she saw quite a bit of familiarity between her and the Headmaster of St.Freya.

Not only that but she could sense anything weird from her as well…it's like their Herrscher powers are completely sealed and under their complete control.

Hell, not even the students are weary of them… Though everyone knows them being these powerful beings who can do insane things.

Apart from these critical observations she noticed one peculiar thing about Raynold… He was Master of Martial Arts, she could see many, many similarities between her and him.

'Could he be the reincarnation of a powerful warrior from ages long past?'

It was not a pipe dream of this kind of thing being true. Since it doesn't make sense for a kid to be this good! The way he walks, behaves, and easily navigates between kids without getting annoyed by their behaviour.

She could see that Kiana Kaslana is utterly smitten by this kid. Does this affect Sirin inside of her? Did the Herrscher persona have fallen in love with his character to the point that she allows Kiana to control her powers?

All these questions continued to spin in her thoughts.

Regardless. One thing she is sure of is that he is not by any stretch normal 9 year old boy, it's simply impossible to be one with this kind of behaviour. He was more like a sage.

The school kids even listen to him like he is a secondary teacher.

After doing her observations she filled up her report to Schicksal.

Day one…it was intense…

For her psyche…

Several times she was jumpy that one of them lost control and started to use Honkai. But thankfully it was kids being kids and they got hurt.

So, yes…she was being tired.

Once the classes were over she was meeting with Rita who was dressed in the school uniform looking perplexed just as was Hu Fua.

"...Commander… I have nothing to add…apart that they are regular looking kids… more like honour students. There is nothing indicating anything suspicious. No Honkai energy, no suspicious behaviour."

This was what Fu Hua had expected. Though she wanted an opinion on something.

"What about Raynold Westwood's behaviour? What do you think?"

This question got her thinking for a few moments before she answered.

"...My honest observation is that he should be in Valkyrie academy…he is far too mature. He would make a great Knight."

"Thought so. He doesn't pass as a mere 9 year old boy."

"Do you think… Herrscher persona took him over? And is he doing something else entirely?"

"No…doesn't make sense. His Herrscher power is one of the fundamental forces, gravity. I would understand if he was Herrscher with power over minds and similar things. But he is not."

The explanation made sense. Rita was confused, she feels like the first day was wasted away. They didn't learn anything substantial.

Though their discussion got interrupted as they stopped walking and turned around they heard a giggling laugh second later, they saw Kiana Kaslana fly by in her Herrscher form followed by chasing Raynold Westwood.

Both of them were flying…from looks of it…they were playing catch…more like Kiana was just teasing him while Raynold was chasing after her.

The pair of Schicksal Valkyries were stupefied seeing this…

The thing was…no one was even caring about this…this was. It looks like this was a common occurrence in this place!

"At least we confirmed they are real with our own two eyes." Fu Hua said that while fixing her glasses.

Rita just dumbly nodded for a second before getting this over.

"Indeed, Commander."
