Chapter 10

I couldn’t help but not look at him. He's busy with what he's doing and it seems like he doesn't really have anything for me at all.

“Dinner is ready, come on both of you”

Brick stood up first.

I wanted to refuse but Brick suddenly invited me.

“It’s past 8 already, let’s eat first” his tone is cold but I did not expect him to talk to me.

I just give him a nod.

Mrs. Benjamin’s mother is Vietnamese so I guess this is why we are getting a Banh Khot.

Brick is allergic to Shrimp so I look at him and he seems a bit shy to turn down the food.

“Ms. Benjamin, Brick is allergic to Shrimp”

He frowns as I said it but too late and I know him, he can’t do anything about it.

“Oh too bad, but no worries cause I got some steak also, let me just get it for you”

“Thanks but next time don’t do it again” he warned me.

I felt the sting right to my heart. Finally, he was able to make me feel out of his circle.

Instantly? Was he waiting for this to happen?

I just look down and try to contain my feeling.

“Here you go, Brick”

“So how are the power couple doing?”

We both look at Ms. Benjamin, puzzled.

“You and Ivana?”

That word just definitely strikes at me for the second time, I’m bleeding. Really? Power couple?

Brick seems hesitant but he just smiled as if he is confirming his relationship with Ivana is a real score. Fool!

I took a deep breath once again, I’m about to let my tears out when she suddenly ask a question once again.

“And how about my Ideal couple?”

“Huh?” I am confused because she was looking at me.

“Yes! Andre is trying to pursue you right?”

And suddenly Brick spilled his water.

“Actually I ask Andre to do the task instead of Brick but he refused and when he suddenly knew that it was you whom I am asking a favor with, did you know that he plead for me? I was laughing because he is actually trying to make me say yes but I said no because this guy deserves a punishment”

“Why are you blushing?” Brick suddenly gets annoyed by my reaction.

“What do you care”

“Anyway, I just want to ask you both, sorry! But hope you enjoy both of your love life, it’s sweet and wild at the moment but you have to focus still on your dreams. Okay?”

Ms. Benjamin has no family of her own but she seems an experienced relationship expert.

“Do you like to become an Author Glimm?”

The question kept ringing in my mind. I can't think of an answer if that's what I really want.

“I’m still unsure”

“Anyway, I have some beers in my ref, let us chill later after we finish all the papers, okay? I am really comfortable with both of you here” she said

Ms. Benjamin is really cool, I can imagine living her life with the man whom she loves and feels the same towards her, he must have been lucky.

Time passed quickly, she happily talked about her past but she was a bit off when it comes to her relationship.

I like to ask but I can feel that she is not comfortable and I won’t cross the line.

Ms. Benjamin is already asleep. I still have a headache but I'm sober.

"Let me drive you home if Kayen can't pick you up," he said as he locks the door.

Do I have a choice? I can find a taxi but it is safer to go with him.

Let it slide.

"Thank you," I said.

As we got into his car, he played a song. Just a random song.

We were both silents.

"Is Andre pursuing you?" he suddenly asked.

"huh?"

He looks at me in despair, he’s not drunk but he looks a bit distress right now.

"No" I answered. " Andre and I, we are just friends, he is helping me a lot adjusting in this strange unfamiliar place beside Kayen is busy with her studies and Keall."

He just nods without a plan to say a word.

I take a deep sigh. My hands are suddenly cold and trembling. I look at the window and stare blankly ahead.

Brick is driving slow tonight, I stare at every walking stranger on the side road, one guy caught my attention, he looks like someone I know but he is wearing a thick hoodie so I am not sure, he is smoking and walking drunk.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I just thought I saw someone I know" I answered.

We have already reached the campus.

"Thank you for driving me back" as I am feeling a bit nervous I accidentally move up without pulling out my seat belt which caught his eye to look at me and chuckle.

"let me help you" and I was freeze and shock as he moves closer to me, he is so close that I can smell the alcohol in his breath, as he pulls up the seat belt he caught me staring at his lips, I am breathing heavily this time and so as he.

"Can I kiss you?" I don't know what pushes me to say those words, call me damn and stupid but I really want to kiss him so bad.

He seems overwhelmed by what I said.

Never mind.

I push him away but he is reluctant this time. He just stares at me and it feels like he is actually teasing me already.

"I am going now," I said while looking down, I can't look at him now.

I push him again but this time he kisses me.

The moment our lips touch, my knees start to weaken. He put his hand behind my neck and start to brush my hair with his bare hand. I was a bit stunned at the moment, my eyes are half close, as I respond to his kisses more and more. I can taste the beer off his mouth, and his scent is so alluring that it heightens my emotions. I'm savoring every soft and loving touch he gives me, like if I've been craving for this sensation. He yanked me up and flipped me over, this time putting me in his lap, his lips pressed against mine. Heat rose from us as my fingertips caressed his lower back, causing him to groan.

Suddenly I panic and stop.

"Does it feel good" he whispered, his hands were still on my waist.

My heart is beating so fast.

“I love how it feels but I am afraid.” I look away as I whispered those words.

"Afraid?" he whispered.

If I gave myself to him, will it change us? will it bring us together?

"This is not your first time? isn't it?" he gushed.

Right at that very moment, I was in a rage.

I immediately move away from his lap.

"What are you talking about?" I am confused.

"I love you Glim but I hate it when you stabbed me in the back, I thought I can hide being hurt and pretend that I did not know anything but it pains me when I see you.

I am suddenly puzzled and in tears.

"I don't know what you are talking about?"

"The night of your graduation ball.."

he did not finish his sentence because the Security guard knocks on the window asking him not to park his car outside the gate.

Bewilder by what he said, I open the car and without saying anything, I left him in despair.

Heated kisses replace by confusion. What the hell is he talking about?

I open the door and found Kayen half asleep. She woke up when he heard the sound as I shut the door.

"Hey, you are back so late," she said while rubbing her eyes.

"Kayen, do you remember what happened during the night of our graduation ball?" I sit down beside her.

I was a bit intrigued by the way she reacts.

"huh? wh..why?" her voice is stuttering.

" Are you hiding things from me?" I hissed.

"No why would I?" she replied

" Brick told me that I stabbed him in his back, I don't know what he is talking about"

"How the hell did he know?" she overreacts immediately as if I said something controversial.

"Spill it" I demanded

"nothing happened really, we were all drunk that night!" she said

"Kayen?" I pleaded

" I am so sleepy Glim, I assure you, nothing really happened, forget about Brick, he is a dick anyway, let just sleep please" and then she lies down putting a pillow in her head.

My mind can't stop thinking about it, as if there was a memory missing inside my head.

All I know is that we got drunk pretty bad and I woke up in a hospital due to alcohol intoxication which made Brick really disappointed and upset but that's it, I can't remember anything that happened at all.

Stabbed him how?

KAYEN'S POV

Early as a bird, I ask Brick to come to meet me outside the campus, Brick is my cousin.

He was already outside the coffee shop, sitting like a prince in distress. He is nothing without Glim. They were like a match from heaven but I guess you cannot have love without crying a river and then building a bridge.

As I walk towards him, I give him a sharp glare.

"What the hell Brick, what did you say to Glim last night!?" I am so annoyed that I forgot to somehow greet him.

"What?" he replied.

"Why is she asking me about the night of our graduation ball? what did you know?" I gushed.

"was that supposed a secret? well not anymore" he said in a displeasing tone

"what the heck Brick, do you think I am joking with you right now?"

"Calm down, can you please sit down first, you are overreacting, I don't care about it anymore, if he wants to do it again with Rob, he can do it now. I have already let her go, no need to fool around" his tone is a bit rough.

I slap him.

"What a dick! I don't know how you find out about it, but I'm gonna find out who the hell told you about what happened that night and do me a favor, my favorite cousin! Stay away from Glim! saluting my middle finger for the greatest boyfriend on Earth.

He was a bit surprised about what I said but I guess it is better to find out without getting him involved, I know him! He can never control his emotion very well. I just wanted to protect Glim.

"I just wish she never finds out" I sigh.

GLIM'S POV

I woke up without Kayen, weird.

I decided to have lunch outside the campus.

I once recall again what happened but I'm gonna let it slide for now. I am just too tired of thinking and asking why.

I left my flash drive in the computer shop and I walk into the near coffee shop.

While I am waiting for my order to be served, someone seat in front of me.

"Hi"

A guy smiling as if he knows me.

Is he the guy I saw last night?

I think I know him but I keep thinking who.

"I am Rob, remember?"

When he said his name, I felt a sharp prick on my tummy.

A light bulb appears on my mind.

"Rob Morano? the guy who transferred during our 4th year?" I brightly recalled.

"Definitely, I am so glad that you still remember me," he said.

"Wow, it is nice meeting you again" and then I ask for a handshake.

when he reach mine, I suddenly felt light-headed by the way he touches my hand.

I let go but his grip is a bit strong. When he realized that I am a bit uneasy, he let go.

"Oh I am sorry" he apologized.

" It is fine, well Rob, it was really nice meeting you but I still have a lot of things to do so I might take my leave for now" I bid goodbye and he just stared at me and smile like weird.

I took my order and look back again at him. He waves goodbye.

I had finished three subjects this morning. I am so overworked.

I got a text from Kayen, they are waiting for me in the canteen.

" Hey, why are you so early?" I asked her as I reach their table.

"Early? where did you go?" Keall asked.

"nowhere, met someone not worth mentioning" she replied

Keall seems annoyed but looks cute.

"By the way, I meet someone awhile ago," I said

"Who?"

"Rob? Rob Morano, I think" I continued

And then the glass which she is holding got to slip in her hand.

"What is wrong with you?" I asked

Everyone stares at us even from the table where Brick's are.

"Is that Rob your ex?" Keall ask Kayen

"No!" and then she turns to me.

"Where did you see him," she asked hysterically.

" Outside the campus, wait! is there something wrong with him?" I ask in a confused manner

"Yes, he is a weirdo so you must never go near him again!" she warned me.

"Okay fine, he looks really weird to me, when I give him a handshake, his grip was so tight and he smiled eerie," I told them

"he sounds like a maniac to me," Keall said

"that gives me chills," I said.

I look at Kayen and she seems distracted.

Later on, while we are busy eating our lunch a group of students is shouting outside the cafeteria as if someone has started a fight.

We went out to find out that Brick and Rob are having a fight.

"Crap!"
