The Captian Lead Justin to a bunk near the back of the barracks. A strangle shaped pyramid box stood at the bed of it. Seeing his confused look The Captian explained.
"This is a System Inventory Chest. Costs a pretty penny from the Shop but it's very important. It is indestructible as far as we can tell, atleast with any current means. It's coded to only open to one register individual and can't be recorded to anyone after. It has some sort of dimension tech or something. seems to hold WAAAY more than it should. I've seen guards putting entire carts of junk and loot in them and never being alerted that it's full. Go ahead and put your hand on it."
Justin complies and puts his hand down on one of its surfaces.
[Unclaimed Inventory Storage. Would you like to claim. Yes or no.]
He confirms yes and immediately a window appears above the box, showing a list of everything in it. Strangely there is a letter, but nothing else. Mentally clicking on the letter he reads it's description.
[Letter of Importance. READ ALONE]
He hesitates but transfers it to his inventory.
"It's interesting. It will definitly come in handy." he says without mentioning the letter. " Now...I want to go check out this Shop you keep mentioning."
She nods and points to the exit. take a left out of the door and walk straight for you can't miss it. and Justin...thanks again for my sister."
He starts to head out then stops suddenly.
"Oh Captian I wanted to give you these." He sends her a list of all the equipment from Keyla with a mental flick of the system. "It's what keyla fought and earned on our way. I just wanted you to..."
"Keep it. You and she bleed for those items. She would want you to have them. or sell them. You could use the Credits. On second thought here I will take this. She selects Keylas ring and there is a flash as it appears in her hand."
He nods and leaves without a light pat on her shoulder. As he leaves he hears a soft sob. A whisper of "I miss you" and he is gone.
Arriving at the entrance of the Shop he finds a short line. Waiting his turn he listens to the people around him. Their conversations seem to all consist of two types of people. Desperately one wrought with grief of lost one's, trying to just survive. Then there are the ones who are excited. He can hear them talking about monster slaying. Leveling up. Like it's just a game. He grits his teeth after a few minutes of this. It is NOT a game. This is life. And he'll. He keeps his mouth closed though and when it's finally his turn to go in he practically leaps forward through the portal.
He appears in a long field of Grey swaying grass. the cars around him are muted. There isn't a single light in the sky. No sun or stars. Looking around he sees a table with two chairs on either side and a figure sitting in one of them. As he draws closer he is shocked at the figured appearance. Figure is the right work. The figure in front of him is only the vague shape of a humanoid. It's entirely pitch black as if it's nothing more than a rip in space. Two eye spots of even blacker night sit on its face, somehow darker than it's body. A black that's blacker than black.
"Ahhh...Void Paladin. Title holder. Welcome to my shop. It has been thousands of years since I have recieved a guest shopper. How can I help you?"
"I uh...I came to sell my loot...wait what do you mean thousands of years. I just passed a whole line of people coming in."
The figure chuckles...it's voice deep and baritone, an almost gravelly tone.
"Those children are not my Lord's. I am the Shop Keeper of the Void. Thus I only allow those that follow Him to enter. Believe it or not you are the first Paladin of any Diety to make it to a shop so far."
"Oh..." Justin murmurs. " Then...I'd like to sell all these." He shows the creature of darkness his loot and all the gear junk or unusable that he gained from his adventures so far."
"Hmmm it's quite alot here. Alot of this is basic materials but their are some worthy items here. How about this. I will take all of it for...say 15,000 credits." he says with an almost imperceptible twinkle in his eyes.
"I want 16,000" Justin replies on a hunch.
"Done"
All the items in front of him disappears and he receives a notification of the credits being recieved.
"Would you like to buy anything?"
"I would like to look at getting better armor and a better sword." Immediately a notification with a list of items appears in front of him. He looks at the top item and gags.
"10million credits?!?! I can't afford that!"
"Then just change the parameters. Filter it to your price range silly child."
Justin tries not to be perturbed at being called a child, and mentally does as told. Immediately the list adjusts. His eyes scan the list of armors and swords. After a time he decides on a heavy armor set and a sword.
"I would like these items please."
"That will be 17,000 credits."
In one swoop all his credits are gone and his is poor again.
