Chapter 24 The Five Clan Representatives
A double door appeared in their path as they reached its end. Damien held out his hands and pushed it open upon seeing no one nearby to do the task.
The corridor gave way to a triangular room with glass replacing the walls at its sides.
Directly opposite them, a woman whom Damien had recognised due to her signature silver hair was seated at the tip of the triangular table in the middle of the room.
The light from the suns caused a few strands of her diamond like silver hair to glitter here and there.
Except for the wall housing the door they had just come through, the other two sides of the triangular room were made of glass, even the roof.
The door and wall to their backs acted as the base of the triangle.
Four other people were in the room. Damien recalled vaguely that they were with Silver the first time he met Phoenix. They had been the entourage and he had thought of them as nothing more than servants.
'So they were important people.' He thought.
Silver occupied the tip while the others were occupying the two sides of the table, two on each side.
They had simultaneously looked into their direction when the door had opened.
The pressure of five gods pressed down on them. The three demigods in the party felt as if they would be crushed.
A dark ethereal ripple erupted from Dark's body and deflected the pressure alleviating the heavy feeling the trio were facing which had been stopping them from breathing.
"Is this how you welcome guests?" Dark asked as her expression turned dark.
The other four's eyes brightened when they took a food look at her. They were males and their reaction was within expectations since Dark had truly brought out her sexiness with her attire.
A pang of dissatisfaction flared up within Damien's eyes at their wolfish gazes but he surpressed it as lashing out would be detrimental to the coming negotiations.
A cough sounded from Silver causing the males to regain their senses. Some blushed as they remembered their unsightly behavior.
"Sister Dark, what brings you here, and with these mere demigods. Also do forgive our transgressions as we didn't expect your arrival." Silver apologised while also inquiring the reason for their arrival.
Lino and Itetia let out a small breath of relief upon hearing the apology.
"The god queen wants the development of the project to hasten so she has sent the manager to negotiate." Dark answered.
"Oh! Who is the manager?" One of the men, at the lower left of the table asked as he raised his eyebrow.
He looked to be in his 30's with white hair and matching eyes. He was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt underneath.
Amusement could be seen deep within his eyes when he asked the question. Though his eyes never left Dark. He actively ignored the others. Even though Lino had that large bust, it didn't attract him one bit. Their clans could offer them any type of female demigod they so desired. Their only pursuit were goddesses.
"I am the manager. Silver must have told you." Damien answered as he came to the fore. He made eye contact with Silver to try and gauge from her reaction if she had informed them but she ignored him and only calmly took a sip of the contents of her cup. She was in her signature silver work outfit.
"She did, but as you know we had to confirm since we were surprised that a mere demigod was given such a position." The man answered as he stroked his chin prompting the others chucked as if it was a joke.
'These idiots!' Exclaimed Lino in her mind. She gritted her teeth hard and balled up her fists, the pressure turning them white.
"If I remember correctly, you were the idiot who had the nerve to ask the god queen to marry you that time, right?" The male on the lower right side with eerie green ghostly eyes said in between the laughter.
His entire form emanated gloominess. He resembled a twelve year old child but his voice gave chills whenever he talked.
Even the ladies flinched every time he turned his faze towards them.
Damien could sense that the four men had plenty of combat experience due to their postures and demeanors. Except Damien, and a few others, most of the people in the city, even the university only took on humanoid forms for convenience. They weren't their true forms.
Damien walked towards the left of the two seats at the base of the table and sat himself on it amidst their laughter.
Dark followed and occupied the right one. Lino and Iteia moved to stand behind them.
"Making fun of me might lead to the negotiations falling through since what you have to offer can be gotten even from other cities in other universes." Damien said as his eyes beneath his glasses calmly observed them.
Their laughter stopped abrubtly and even Silver who was pretending to focus in her cup raised her head.
"I am the person you need to negotiate with. Also I will be the one truly in charge of the properties." Damien continued as their gazes turned serious.
"Now, let's start with introductions." He said upon seeing their serious faces.
Dark nodded her head in satisfaction upon seeing how calmly he handled the situation. She had tagged along mostly to give him advice since she had handled such high level negotiations during her secretarial job to the Nightmare god king.
Lino formed stars in her eyes while Itetia too treated it nonchalantly since she had grown up in a noble clan. Such events happened there almost everyday.
"I am Silver Diamante of the Diamante clan, currently ruling the first district." Silver broke the ice as she introduced herself calmly.
"I am called Gigan Munene, currently representing the Munene clan, the ruler of the second district." A bald elderly looking man introduced himself on Silver's right. He had piercing brown eyes and was wearing a long brown robe complementing his eyes.
Damien was mostly weary of him. It seemed like he was not simple at all.
"I am called Pulsar light, representative of the Light clan which rules the third district. Sorry for the mockery." The white haired and white eyed man on Damien's left and the second from Silver's right after Gigan introduced himself.
"Its okay." Damien answered. The man seemed easy going but anyone chosen to be in this place surely had their outstanding qualities.
"My name is Blue Waver." The man at the left side of Silver introduced himself. Damien waited for him to continue but he didn't.
He had long blue hair and blue eyes which sparkled as the rays of the sun hit them. His eyes just stayed focused on Silver without him even giving turning to look at Damien.
Itetia, who was behind Dark's chair, experienced a spike in her heart beat the moment she laid eyes on the blue haired man. He was handsome, on par with the white haired man but the reason she became attracted was because she could sense an affinity with him.
'Why am I feeling this way?' She asked in herself as she kept her eyes on him. She discreetly raised her hand to her chest and took in a deep breath to calm herself.
"He's like that, Don't mind him." The green haired boy with the green ghostly eyes said as he looked at Damien.
His voice gave Damien a horrific feeling.
"My name is Niles Butwa. Fifth clan ruling Pantheon city's periphery." He introduced himself.
His body really was that of a child but his voice was of an adult.
"I am Damien Okoye, manager of the Phoenix Palace estate. Nice to meet you all!" Damien introduced himself.
"Before we get down to business, I want to ask, are you all going to negotiate separately or is Silver going to be the spokesperson?" Damien asked as his elbows rested on the table and his fingers entwined. The red of his eyes increased as his sharp vision fell on each and everyone of them.
"Separately." Silver answered concisely.
"I will now give you a brief explanation of what I an going to do with the place before we negotiate." Damien said.
"I am going to turn the houses private with a boundary and then redecorate them. For the price I have in mind for renting them, only gods with deep pockets or clans behind them will be able to afford them. Payment will be in elemental crystal strings and it won't be limited to just one." Damien continued as the four widened their eyes at the astronomical price.
Silver kept her calm because she knew about the seven colored liquid. The others, even though they had toured the properties with her, didn't know since she didn't show them.
Even though they didn't know about the secret, a light of greed rose in their eyes upon hearing about the price. Even the blue haired man whose eyes which had been focused on Silver had turned to focus on Damien.
'Heheheh you will be in the palm of my hand due to your greed. Nonono...I shouldn't be smug. Some must be faking it or all are. But I already have the upper hand since I have what they want and I might not necessarily need to get what I want from them.' He thought as his tightly pursed lips quivered.
'These old coots!!! I hope Damien isn't tricked.' Dark thought as she looked at their greed filled faces. Her chair was about two meters away from him and she couldn't use her powers as the others would detect them. Besides, Phoenix had explicitly told her not to help him.
'That bumpkin will suffer if he simply believes the expressions on their faces.' Silver thought as her gaze moved around the faces of the people at the meeting.
