Chapter 32 News, Spreads
Currently, Gigan had arrived inside his home.
He plopped down onto the sofa after forcing his trembling legs to carry him home.
He spent a few minutes in quiet solitude before he thought of contacting the clan head.
He had to report what had happened.
"What is it?" A voice came through the speakers when the call connected.
It was audio. It seemed all clan leaders didn't want their members to know their identities, of course there were exceptions.
"The god queen killed Blue Waver." Gigan got straight to the point.
"...oh! And was his clan leader there?"
"No." Gigan answered respectfully.
"Chaos is coming. That guy of the Waver clan is maniac, he dares to to do anything. Do all the clans know?"
"Only I and Silver were present."
"Spread the news to the others. The god queen is someone who doesn't go by the rules, so make sure the clan members don't offend her. Now replay for me the sequence of events which led to his death!" The voice ordered.
The voice of the clan leader wasn't truly his. He had distorted it to prevent any one from learning his identity from it.
Multiple terrifying divinities existed and your opponent could curse you just by using your voice.
Only the clan leaders who had travelled around the universe knew that certain powerhouses could curse you to death, especially evil god emperors.
Brown strings were released from Gigan's body and wove themselves into the scene which had taken place when he visited Dark.
The Discovery of the string to the god queen's killing of Blue Waver, all was played from start to end.
Of course, only the events where he had been were played.
"She should have at least waited and killed him in front of his clan leader." The distorted voice commented.
"The god queen will apparently also send invitations inviting you to the opening of the estate which is to take place at the start of the second sun cycle of her reign."
Gigan dropped the news.
"I think that guy will also act on that day." The voice said.
"Inform me of any major developments." Ordered the voice.
"Yes!" Gigantic answered as the call ended.
He wiped away any figurative sweat which might have formed on his forehead.
He thought that the clan leader was going to berate him for giving away another clan's representative.
'That woman won't inform the other two clans, so I will do it. Too bad no benefits are to be gotten from this conflict, unless the Waver clan leader is killed, but I doubt that will happen.' He thought as he simultaneously called the two representatives of the other clans.
The wall mounted screen split into two images vertically.
The green eyed child looking Niles, from the Butwa clan appeared in the right side.
He was the first to pick up.
"What do you want? I was in the middle of an experiment." He asked grumpily. He hated being interrupted while he was doing his experiments.
The background was showing a few pieces of flesh from unknown organisms floating in transparent cylinders.
Niles wanted to create an organism which had multiple talents on par with divinities. In other words, he wanted to make a creature with multiple divinities and then posses it. That way, it would be easier for him to become a god king.
He knew his talent the best. Even if he was provided with treasures which increased comprehension, he knew it would be pointless, so he focussed on creating a vessel with multiple divinities and then possessing it.
He would then search for treasures to increase comprehension and depend on upgrading the multiple divinities to break through jumping the comprehending part.
Gigan looked down upon him as he didn't see any chance of him becoming a god king.
Even the current childish body he had, was new, as he had transferred his consciousness into it recently.
"Wait for Pulsar to appear!" He said.
"Niles frowned, but he still decided to keep the video feed open.
After a few minutes of silence, the left screen lit up as Pulsar' face appeared in it.
The two, who had been waiting, frowned at his current appearance.
He looked like his vision couldn't stay on the screen since his eyes swarm around. He was drunk.
"Why did you choose to answer my call with such an unsightly...?" Gigan didn't continue but they understood what he was trying to say.
"One of the juniors, in other words a demigod broke through to become a god, so we were celebrating." He answered without any of his words slurring. It seemed that he was still sober enough to talk.
"Oh! Congratulations!" Niles said sincerely.
They all knew that some one becoming a god was a good thing even if they weren't from there own clan.
There were thousands of demigods but only around 50 gods in Pantheon city.
"He will make up for the one we just lost." Gigan commented seriously.
""What!!!""
Niles and Pulsar simultaneously shouted upon hearing him.
"What do you mean?" Pulsar's face extended near the screen as he expelled the drunk feeling from his system.
"Blue Waver has died. He was killed by the god queen." He announced.
"Is that right? Why did she kill him?" Niles asked as he calmed down.
"He tried to turn that blue haired demigod we saw during the meeting into a puppet. When she went back, everyone saw her situation and knew something was wrong so I decided to tell them the truth." He explained.
"Why did you take it upon yourself?" Pulsar asked.
"If I had kept quiet and the god queen had investigated, I would have been branded an accomplice since I know the divinity of Blue Waver. My clan would have had to pay compensation."
"You are right. If you hadn't gone there... By the way, why were you there?" Pulsar asked and even Niles' eyes had their ghostly green pupils turn more eerie.
"The manager, specifically that arrogant demigod invited me for a separate business deal." He gritted his teeth at remembering that detestable guy but his mood brightened when he talked about the deal.
The eyes of the two glared at him. Jealousy could be seen in their eyes.
"Well...if you want to join in on the deal, we can negotiate!" He revealed the reason he told them about the deal.
"First tell us what you got out of the deal?" Niles asked calmly.
"One of the residences will be given to the Munene clan for 10,000 sun cycles." He answered as a smile formed on his lips upon seeing their reactions.
They had lost their word as their jaws dropped to the floor.
"And, if I live there, I will get the chance to interact with favoured scions of powerful clans in the universe. Firming connections leads to opportunities."
He dropped the finishing blow causing their eyes to light up with greed.
"Before that, you will have to report back to your clan leaders." He emphasized.
Both of them took a deep breath to calm themselves down.
"Why didn't the god queen wait for Blue's clan leader before killing him?" Pulsar asked.
"Hah... That woman is terrifying. Her thoughts are incomprehensible. She does things on a whim." He sighed loudly as he said.
"I think she also likes her manager!"
He said that softly but the two had managed to catch it and their eyes widened.
"Impossible!!!" Niles shrieked. The igmdea seemed too absurd for him.
"Yes, it must have been your imagination." Pulsar laughed foolishly as he also denied it.
"If you had been there with me, you would have come to the same conclusion. Also it seems that that guy has something wrong with his brain."
"What do you mean?" Niles asked as his eyes lit up.
"When I went to see him, his personality was different from when he was negotiating with us." He answered.
"Huh!" Question marks formed in their eyes as they curiously wondered about what he was talking about.
"Anyway, hurry up and inform your clan leaders, or they might replace you if they hear the news from my clan leader first." He warned them.
The screen went dark as both hurriedly disconnected so that they could contact their clan leaders.
They wanted Gigan to let them stay at the residence on the platform, and if someone else replaced them as representatives they would miss the opportunity to mingle with the upper echelon of this universe.
Their clan leaders were mostly away and even if they were invited to events, they didn't take their representatives along with them.
So even though they were big shots here in Pantheon city, In the universe, no one had heard of them.
Demigods from the universe like Damien with no backgrounds think that Pantheon city is the greatest city in the universe but what they don't know is that powerful clans which have/had a god emperor have cities in pocket dimensions.
They have resources which aren't available in Pantheon city since their god emperors created the resources for them. Pantheon city was created as a trading spot for gods, so it is just a place where gods meet.
But with the opening if the estate, some scions might be allowed to come and they might bring resource unique to their pocket dimensions.
